I'd assume the Pathfinders are Direct Editions. Did FW have a presence?
Have they done away with old metal ones then ?
i dont think ive seen those before or have i

You may not have, but we have seen them before. There's nothing firm on these models being released... yet.

@ Jonny5: they were on display at GD, and before the website was redesigned the pathfinders were listed as classics when the tau empire 'dex was released, hinting thaty they are getting replaced. Still not sure what i think of the new battlesuit, its a tad too anime for me...

Lots of great pics, thanks guys! Really love that 'Imperial Airforce' shot of all the valkyries. The metals all look great too, really nicely sculpted and characterful. This is a good time to play guard, I think.

I can understand counting the valkyrie as a skimmer. Otherwise GW would have to retroactively give flight capability to all the eldar tanks too (and the tau, if there were any sense).

Hope the bods in suits hurry up and release those jetbikes as squadrons, I feel like we've been waiting forever already.

nope, because the tau and eldar tanks dont actually fly. they have aircraft, as do the IG, one of which is the valkyrie...

But it has decent legs which would be a major step forward for non FW Tau battlesuits.

Not sure if this has been posted already but I was just ordering some stuff from FW and I asked the chap what the size was like between their valk and the new plastic 1. He nipped off and asked one of the design boys who was in the office at the time and told me that the only size diff is the thickness of the walls and that the FW upgrades like =I= doors should still fit on the plastic 1.

He also said they are looking at further upgrade kits for the plastic valk and that a new IA update will be released somewhen after the new IG codex but this is depending on their work on the new vraks book. When I asked if this ment some new DkoK stuff he said " you will have to wait and see" in a "yes but i cant tell u" manner.

They have also stopped production of the resin valk so when what they have in stock is gone their wont be any more.

Oh almost forgot when I orderd my elysians he said they are working on some new elysian stuff :)

New Elysian stuff? Wow... If that's true I will be a happy puppy! Maybe they even considered making the drop trooper commissar I've recommended in all my orders :D I've been having a chat with Forge World aswell as when the new updates for the Elysian army list will come and they said that it will indeed come soon after the new codex, but he couldn't tell me anything about it! ;P He also said that at the time when I contacted them they barley knew themselves how the new IG codex would be like as GW works well ahead of things so FW usualy doesn't know the changes before it's closing in on the realese day.

The new plastic command sets are looking damn fine aswell... But I probably need to save my money for my Elysians!

Errrr.....yes they do Dave. There was an article in Chapter Approved on access doors to various vehicles with stats on the vehicles including speed, dimensions etc and it specifically quoted air speeds for both the tanks and the wave serpent at ground level and at altitude.

what? thats in complete contradiction to what imperial armour 3 states i think. (obviously dont have it here wth me in canada, as it just states one speed and mentions tau tanks as antigravity tanks. Although it does make sense that they can fly, having said anti gravity equipment n all...)

Back in the days of Epic, there were rules for having Eldar tanks whizz around in the skies a-la planes, but tau tanks are anti-grav tanks and not capable of any real flight. So you're all wrong!

Devilfish can be deployed from altitude, there anti-grav can be ramped up to allow the decent, tho I don't know if you can class that as flying, more like controlled falling.

Sounds oddly familiar to parachuting.

"Maximum speed....180kph at low altitude. 850kph at high altitude"

aaah, maybe then for the falcon. But i'm gonna stick to tau tanks not being equipped with true flight capabilities in my head, stops me having to ask why the tau have aircraft as well lol

Hmmm, I'm still a little peeved at this one, to be honest (could you tell from my previous comment. . .). Much the same as I was when the plastic Baneblade and ShadowHammerBaneFaceBladeLol kit were relased/anounced. Why. Cos the prestiege factor is gone. Back in the day, it used to be an honour to face someone with the resources to get even a single Valkyrie or Vulture or whatever (and the patience to put together the sometimes god-awful miscasts). But now? Any 12 year old kid can pick up a Valk, butcher the kit and paint it badly. And if it is a perfect replica of the resin version, then all those lucky gits who went and bought and slaved over it to put it together correctly will just slip into the background.

Frankly, its just a silly idea.

Dave out.
QFT and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Fw snob Chris!! It would royally suck to be one of those guys!

Ok lets avoid the elitism if possible being one of the FW gits, I don't mind it brings the nice lovely stuff thats out of reach for the youngersters and poor people into reach, allowing them tthe fun too, the prestiege is still there.

I only bring this up due to a kid I teach complaining about this, he would love to be able to buy FW but can't afford it and found this comments quite insulting, FW gits still get some of the best kits out there and I hammer the kid in question today with all the FW goodness

I think the elitism with FW stems not from price but from its ordering system, you need a credit card to order, which most kids and 25% of adults don't possess. This is changing though, at the store managers conference it was brought up why FW can't be ordered with cash over the GW shops counter like at WHW, and its being seriously looked at. I think this will double FW's sales overnight.
