Everybody welcome Alhazrad to team Xenos. Ive been pestering these guys to come down for an Apoc game and they finally came over so I have to put my table where my mouth is… To be fair tho igknot was the only one who hadn’t been over for a game… However Alhazrad started a new army and achived partial suprise with his army selection... The lists: THE HUNGER: Alhazrad: Hq: Winged Tyrant Brood Lord w/ 8 stealer retinue Elites: “Screamer Killer” Fex Troops: Two units of 6 Genestealer’s Two units of 8 Gaunts One unit of sixteen Hormagaunts Fast: Two units of winged warriors Heavy: Biovore Two more ‘Fexs ![]() Bowmanganie: Tyrant with 3 Tyrant guard Broodlord with 5 Stealers 6 x 12 Stealer broods (three with rending claws) Fancy case… ![]() 3650ish points and 98 GENESTEALERS The Resolute: dean Belial Sammael 4x Deathwing squads with ACs 1x DW squad with flamer 1x DW squad with CML.. LRC igknot Chapter Master, jump pack, Lightning claws Tactical 10 w/Plas C, Plasmagun & Sarge PP. Razorback Scouts 10 w/sniper rifles and HB Scouts 10 w/bolters and HB Sternguard 10 with Pfist, combi melta, and Drop Pod Vanguard 10 with Power sword 3550ish Snackies: (Mrs. Dean outdid herself...) ![]() Chili: ![]() I unfortunately focused on my part when I was taking notes and didn’t get all igknots movements in but I am picking up as much as I can from the pix. Rolled the scatter dice and the no mans land goes directly from corner to corner. Setup: ![]() Turn 1 Igknot and I won the bid for setup so we also won the ability to take the first turn. We got our deepstriking in and I personally rolled really well for my scatter…. OH FEX…. PFFFRRRARP....![]() On the left… ![]() However shooting did okay. Sammael and the Sternguard killed one and a half squads of ‘stealers but that left 2 more and the Deathwing squad took 3 wounds off of the fex. Igknot shot his sniper scouts and the orbital barrage at Al’s Tyrant and took one wound off of it. He was pleased. ![]() On the left shooting killed one of Alhazrad’s squads of stealers and the LRC killed one tyrant guard. (no pic) Tyranids turn one Hormaguants charged at scouts (out of range), the fex power barfed on DW squad VI and missed at 1” then charged them in concert with a full squad of ‘stealers. Stealers missed/failed to wound all 16 attacks against squad VI and the fex killed 2 of squad VI at I2 and the termies killed the fex when I1 rolled around I then lost one to Fearless. The other brood of stealers and the Tyranid warriors charged the Sternguard. Igknot lost a few… ![]() ![]() ![]() The half squad charged Sammael but didn’t penetrate… ![]() Resolute turn 2 My Deepstrike rolls continued with another fun roll. ![]() Oh Fex me again…. On my mark enter Hell!![]() Sammael moved out of combat and shot at something (forgot) ![]() ![]() Shrike and his squad charged the Tyrant, Squad V shot and took the last wound off of the fex in back. ![]() IV shot the fex closer to the line and took 2 wounds off of it… Tyrant and the warriors won combat against Shrike and the marines fled and were caught… Mmm… crunchy. Scout squad 1 lost combat with the Hormaguants and fled, were not caught. ![]() On the left I and VIII killed 8 stealers and I don’t remember what the LRC did… ![]() The stealers on squad VI were kind enough to kill the last two members. ![]() Things are not looking that bad for us…. Hungry turn 2 Hey look! We have 4 more broods of Stealers in reserve with the flank march asset. ![]() ![]() GAH! Things are going downhill fast… How did this happen? ![]() ![]() Sammael is killed in HtH with the Flyrant and I and VIII died to the man under the assault. And the LRC had the TLAC ripped off by the 4 stealers on it. The Sternguard finally succumbed to the onslaught facing them and those stealers rounded the Pod looking for the Heavy half of a tac squad hiding in the back. The VenDread has been in HtH with the Guants for a couple player turns and outdid itself this turn by killing 4 Guants with 2 attacks (fearless works for you sometimes…) The hormagaunts lost 4 to the scouts. Resolute turn 3 The notes stop at the end of 2 so I am making it up from here on… Termi squad III showed up finally and wasted no time in shooting while the LRC moved away from combat and shot at the brood that III targeted. Belial dismounted and shot and charged at said brood (now 4) and killed 3. ![]() and wiped that brood out.. however that leaves two partial broods still on the left. On the right igknot shot everything he could to not much more effect than the last turn… ![]() While in the center squad IV shot at the Broodlords squad that had overrun squad V last turn… ![]() Which doesn’t end well in the next Nid turn… ![]() Hungry turn 3 Belial dies… ![]() While squad III aquits itself well enough against one of the partial broods. ![]() The dread (now Immobilized) continues to fight on but at a disadvantage.. ![]() and the Razorback doesn’t last long either… ![]() I know we finished 4 turns but I have no clue what went on after 3 so I am just photodumping the rest: ![]() ![]() igknot finally got his orbital barrage out (Sammael was carrying my vortex grenade… )![]() ![]() ![]() Conclusions: Stealers held one objective and contested another, Marines hold none... Good food. The resolute set up too close (again) Deepstrike is fickle. Stealers are nasty. Edited by dean, 10 Feb 2009, 01:07 PM.

98 stealers?! man that sucks, good battle report. Perhaps more "shooty" in the future, heavy bolters, or assult cannons for dealing with nids. |

Challenge them to paint the nids for next time! Only time I like fighting nids is in power armour (I sold mine) or with artillery (lucky I have plenty of that!). Good game. |

While we were setting up Alhazrad and I discussed the rumored new release of Space Hulk and it's all plastic tiles system... Which begs the question: Are stealers going to change to a 40mil base to match the new termies? Thanks for looking guys! Edited by dean, 13 Feb 2009, 01:58 PM.
