Here goes, bear with me people.

In the early 36th millenium, there was what is now reffered to as the cursed twenty-first founding by many across the imperium of mankind. This was a particularly large founding as more than twenty chapters were deployed to their fortess monastaries across the segmentums.

Unfortunately, these chapters were doomed from the start. With seven chapters fallen to chaos, four developing mutations, and two being all but anihilated, there seemed little to be done with them.

However, they were not without success.

The Black Dragons Chapter stood steadfast against the steady barrages of inquisitorial searches, being guilty with the heresy of abberation. Soon after their creation, the fresh recruits coming into the scout companies occasionally showed mutations in their ossmodulae, characterised by long curving blades spouting from their forearms and elbows. At first, these mutants were deemed degenerations and were disposed of descretely by the chapter's apothocarion. However, the source of the flaw was undiscoverable, a steady flow of mutations contiued to trickle forward.

The apothocarion closely examined and tested every scrap of geneseed available but could not find the source. The mutations continued.

After a particularly brutal battle with the tyranid vanguard swarms on Thracia Binary, the company found itself without a seventh company. Ths were these abberations finally embraced by their brothers. However, They could not escape the wrath of the inquisition forever. after a series of small skirmishes with the sisters of battle, the reigning chapter master called for a cease fire.

The inquisitor lords brought the entire chapter council on trial in the holy halls of Terra itself, as the extermination of an entire loyal chapter is no small matter. After the intervention of Logan Grimnar of the space wolves it was decided.

The Black Dragons were to conduct the xenocidal purge of the moons of Ymgarl. It was ten years of horrendously bloody jungle warfare that saw the seventh company clensed of suspicion with genestealer ichor.

Then Waagh! Ghazkull struchk again.

In order to cement proof of their loyalty to the Imperium, Nine of their ten companies were comitted to the defense.

In the bloody siege, the seventh company was sent on suicide raids alongside the likes of the Blood Angels death company and their ilk, yet everytime they would come out, returning with an aspiring warboss' head to add to their banner.

But success always brings failure.

Using the hard won momentum, the Black Dragons rallied together with the forces of seven other chapters, the Space Wolves, the White Scars, the Blood Angels and others, they drove a massive wedge into the ork lines.

At their greatest moment came their greatest fall, Warlord Ghazkull Mag Uruk Thracka confronted the Chapter Masters by himself.

After felling Logan Grimnar with a mighty blow, Chapter Master Typhon threw himself on the ork lord, driving his halberd into the massive green skin.

Lord Typhon had repaid Grimnar with his life, but the warlord escaped nonetheless and continued his savage rampage.
