After receiving confirmation earlier today we can finally announce that we are booked into the Warhammer World calendar, so...![]() Warhammer World Blog for pics of the venue and information on location. This year we wanted to increase the open nature of the Bash allowing people, members or not, to just turn up with an army and get a game with someone. As well as making it easier for people to mingle, chat and enjoy the day without fitting into a schedule. The Bash is just as much about the AB community as it is about the gaming going on. So instead of a single large game dominating the day we will have the WHW tables set up allowing a range of games and game sizes to take place. This will include (hopefully) some moderate sized Apocalypse games where members can combine their armies to take on another team. In principle we have the following lined up: ![]() Aeronautica Imperialis (Project Log HERE) Project and WIP Table along the lines of the Games Day table. = 25 boards. According to WHW this gives us spaces for 50 people to attend gaming wise. The makeup of these boards however is not set in stone yet. We need to know who is coming to play what before we confirm how many boards of 40K, fantasy and LotR we require etc. We don't need to confirm this for a month or so yet so for now we are going to work with the layout as above. For attendees the start time will be 10am with a 4pm finish. Being at Warhammer World brings its own attractions including Bugmans, the perfect place to have a break, get a pint and eat some dinner, while upstairs we have the Citadel Miniatures Hall where you can see many of the models shown in White Dwarf. We are going to have TWO threads running in relation to the Open Bash. The first is this one you are reading now in General Banter, this is where all information we have will be posted. It is also the place where you can ask questions about the day and hopefully get answers to them pretty quickly. The second thread, in Ammobunker Events HERE, is where people can challenge others to a game, arrange meet ups on the day, get ideas of what to do, organise travel arrangements and discuss any other topic related to the Bash. While the gaming will only be loosely organised people do need to have some forethought beforehand. We don’t want someone turning up with an Orc team in hand, eager for a game of Blood Bowl, only to find no one else has a team with them and then spending the entire day sulking because they haven’t brought anything else to play a game with… As such we would like as many as possible to arrange the first game of the day with another member; it’ll help get the day going and everyone off to a good start. This is especially important for those who may want to play a Specialist game, including BB, LotR, Necromunda, Epic etc as unless prearranged people are less likely to bring a force for these games along just on the off chance they may get a game. For some games we may need to make arrangements with WHW beforehand regarding terrain etc so best if we know beforehand any gaming requirements. Having this second thread should help this one remain easily readable so that no one misses any important information that may be posted up and so that no questions asked will go unanswered because it has been overlooked amongst other posts. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: I need to pass on to Warhammer World any information on those attending such as special dietary requirements due to allergies, possible health problems etc. If you are attending the Bash and think there is something that may fall into this area please let me know as soon as you can. Rather than posting personal information on a public forum please Private Message it to me instead. Any questions? Check back regularly for more info. EDIT: latest thinking on board set up added. Superb work Matt, I know this date may not sit well with everyone (particulary those with an exam fetish) but I don't doubt you did your utmost and well done for getting us the date three months in advance. Consider me in attendance! Dave out. |

Yup. We set up a couple of Appoc type games if everyone want's to let us know who's playing with what armies. That way we can make each game feel right instead of being a total mix. We will keep each to a manageable size. If you have preferences to play with another individual, let us know. |

I'd rather play smaller games than Apoc to be honest. Especially as some of us are learning new armies. |

While we will have a couple of Apoc games the majority of tables will be set up for regular gaming as it gives people more of a chance to play others. Check out the other Bash thread linked above and challenge others to a game. |

Right, it technically falls on a day at work, but I have already put my leave pass in and the sergeant has signed it through so I will be there. Living half an hour up the road means I can be there quite early, so if there is anything I can do to help (getting there early, lugging boxes etc) let me know. |
