soz gav, soz xisor if i caused offense ![]() I personally am completely undecided on the subject, reason i said what i said was because i was worried the whole uhlan debacle would rear a similar head... as i started 40k four or five years ago ive missed a lot of the integral fluff which is quoted in these debates, so in this area i am a complete noob ![]() Running on KVS's mention, what are the fors and againsts in a nutshell xisor? (if thats at all possible dude )

We have nothing against open debate, its healthy, its when people start posting with an air of "my opinion is best, and no1 elses matters", which is what certain members were doing. A good debate is one where the participants can accept that others may not see eye-eye with them, and address this in their own replies. Personally I am with the general fluff concensus that marines are male, as they are supposed to be "knightly" and very "warrior" based, and in history typically, although I will grant not all the time, "warriors" and "knights" in the traditional sense were not female. That is not to say this viewpoint still stands in the 41st Millenium. But there has not been, as far as I am aware, any "official" mention of female marines. However as Xisor says, I am open to the individual interpretations of the fluff by people, and the models they may create as a result. From a modelling point of view, the idea of female marines is slightly intriguing, however I feel that the way Dr Thunder has done it, may not be the "best" way to do it, not that I am sure how I would do it lol. Personally I wouldn't have just stuck breasts on the outside of power armour, I would have based them more off the Sisters of Battle, which are females in power armour, and perhaps bulked them out a little to represent the fact they are genetically engineered. Man my hands hurt now lol |

O,O Wow, good thing Kel's a heritic lol Well, between you and me, they can't go on geneticly curning out troops forever (can they?) Like the Battle Sisters and Imperial Gaurd, I'm sure some people (of both genders) probably get recruited in Space Marine chapters as well. |
