is it a dark grey or just grey primer? im betting you could do a reverse of my scheme and wash the exoskeleton with a slightly thinned badab black and paint the armor/claws/hoofs bleached bone and then wash them with sepia. Id like to see that actually. |

Small update of sorts. I knocked out some WIP test minis for my gaunts and genestealers. some areas will need a heavier wash but for the most part this is what they will look like. Ill probably go back in and pick out their teeth on the final models.![]() ![]() ![]() I also did the basing on two of the bugs to see how it will work out and im very satisfied with the result. Quick and easy is my moto. (the white rim on the ravener will be painted black, i just hadnt gotten to it) ![]() And started basing my FOW brits ![]() thats it for now. stay tuned... I'm amazed by how effective your 'just wash it' method actually is. The nids look great and the slightly uneven tone on the SM armour is really good too, they look slightly grittier and more real. |

Lovely nids, think they are awesome, and the grass heavy bases set them off really well. Cos of you I am watching a 'nid codex on ebay! |

I love that Nid sceme one of my favorites, wouldn't happen to be based on the Lost Fleet of the Laius Rift?

It’s from the Laius Rift Campaign, first appeared in the Aussie WD no.310. Here’s a link to it on the OZ GW site: http://oz.games-workshop.com/crucis/laiusrift/default.htm Got some great tips at making subterranean nids (and skitarii) + it has rules for a nid organism that "explodes" out of infected enemies. |

Small update time Boy Ive been on a 'nid kick lately. I really should start working on my other projects but nids just look so cool lol. Anyway first up is a shot of my current fex and lictor. A prize goes to the first one to find what ive added to them. ![]() ![]() Next up are two of newest editions to the fleet (WIP of course). First is a screamer killer. ![]() I Modified him a bit to make him stand taller than a normal fex ![]() Next is a sniper fex. I could have converted him to have a weapon on either side but i kinda like the guns to one side look. ![]() I havnt forgotten my other projects, i should have an update on the titan by this weekend, and I intend to attack my FOW sometime this week. Stay tuned! Edited by azironlegion, 10 Feb 2009, 06:40 PM.

Thnx Packe, regarding the base I went for two things, 1. A just invaded nid fleet so the local fauna hasnt begun to mutate and grow yet and 2. something super easy that looks nice. |

Mate, the addition of the red really sets off your scheme. I take it that didn't siginificantly magnify the amount of time taken to paint them? Oh, and I bought that 'Nid codex damn you...... |

Marovian- The amount of time it takes to add the red is negligible for the effect i get in the long run. Nids are hard to resist man.. this is my third time playing them lol. if you start em up let us know! xbanditsx- thanks mate, im proud of em. I started on the next 5 marines of Bravo squad so i should have them up soon. |
