Greetings, I am looking to write what is will become an Index Astartes article over at the B&C for the Emperor's Word and I have some of the basic ideas in my head, but I can't figure out a good reason why they don't change the bone in their armour other than it's holy. I want it to have some greater significance but can't figure out anything. Here's everything I have written so far about the Emperor's Word.
Assistance is appreciated. Khrangar |

On thinking about it more, the chapter will be fleet based, taking recruits from the strongest and most devout of the planets they convert. As for religion and how they view the Emperor, I think I want do to both actually. They will have the God-Emperor view that the Ecclesiarchy have but before they are inducted into the 1st Company, they are told the truth about the Emperor, and if they accept this, then they are Iinducted, but if not, they are turned into drones/servitors or something of that nature. It's not exactly what I want to happen to them, but I am worried that they would rebel against the chapter and become renegade space marines. Perhaps this happened early on in the chapter's history and so the chapter must prevent it from happening again. Maybe the librarians mind wipe the inductees and have them forget the induction ceremony or something like that. Maybe for the marking designation, it was to bring unity to the chapter, and have less focus on the differences in rank. Khrangar |

i like the less focus on the differences or rank. its a brotherhood of equality, every servant of the emperor is as valuable as the next, be they a marine, a scribe or the person who polishes the scribes boots, they all serve Him and that is enough. |
