Well, 'pwn' is a mighty big word for a fairly suboptimal list when it comes to tournaments (which includes the latest marine 'dexes, orks, daemons etc.) Limitations: 600 pts per player, only 1 elite, fast attack or HS slot per player. So No 'Nidzilla, thank god.
Results will be psoted in the battlereport section if we can be arsed to make something coherent out of it. |

We came in at fourth place: Minor victory x2 and a draw. Not half bad, but more importantly: All were good, entertaining games. Liselle has the pictures. |

Yes, I have pictures. And here they come. The story will have to come from someone else (guess who ), but I'll try and tell a bit in between.Bad picture alarm. Please no comments on blurryness and stuff. I have seen it and will clean the lens. Thank you. The Fanatic was held in Zwolle in a church. They had the central heating on the whole night, but it went dead during the day so it was really cold inside. There were a lot of people (I don't need to add that most were male, do I?) and I felt just a bit unsure about whether I made the right decision coming. But after ten minutes, I spotted another girl! Yay! And she was from the local club too! And after half an hour, I got used to the idea that this hobby is not that widespread under the women. I made peace with that now. So, on to the games: Our first game was against Tau and Dark Eldar. The scenario was seize the objective. I believe it had nightsight on the first turn. ![]() On the left my general in chief immersed in tactics ![]() ![]() You see the little guy with the red sword at the front of the guard squad? He was left alone after a while because the others decided to decease and he took on the Tau standing next to the devilfish (?, sorry still a bit of a noob I guess) on his own! Was he brave or not? (it is ofcourse debatable whether it was actual bravery or mere stupidity) ![]() On the right side our oponents. They were nice, it was a good game. I like the message on the shirt of the guys on the far right. It says: If you teach me the rules, I show you how to bend them. ![]() My very brave marshall and a few leftover marines charge into the enemy ![]() The game that was played on our left side. I loved the foul creature standing there being nasty and big He looked... foul ![]() ![]() Ok, so we had one objective and they had none, so we won with a minor victory. My first ever game on an event and we won! Well, ofcourse it was not because of my hidden talents. ![]() Overview of the church, the girl is our adversary ![]() Next game was against another girl! Yay! She and her partner played Sisters of Battle and Imperial Fists respectively. The objective was annihilation on victory points. ![]() ![]() ![]() And again there was a lone hero, this time a guy with a flamer. He charged a tank! Idiot ![]() ![]() Face off of the chaplain and the power fist ![]() Incidentally, The powerfist won. This ended in a minor victory too. We had a great game, it was a lot of fun, and it was exciting till the end. What do you do when there is a break? Talk shop ![]() ![]() Next game was against Eldar. Really well painted Eldar. It was a good game, again fun ![]() ![]() ![]() Again a heroic feat. The marshall will charge into the woods, were some snipers and ... were holding an objective and the lone initiate will charge the remaining ... (black out on eldar terms, sorry) ![]() The awfully longwinded battle of my bikes against a few ... (god, it's not even that late!). It finally ended with my bikers being slain in the last turn and the ... claiming the objective. This ended in a draw. Nice game again. I would say: we had a good day and a lot of fun. ANd we ended fourth! I never would have thought that, and Havock did not expect it either. Nice to have someone who knows the business ![]() So, I guess there will be some remarks from Havock now, to change some things I have just said and add things I forgot. See you all later! ![]() |

It wasn't cold! :p And the lone wolf who single-handedly kicked a firewarriors squad's teeth in was my Junior Officer with powerweapon. Blast Hardcheese! Bolt Vanderhuge! Errr. My gamble did pay of: the amount of AT firepower was really sub-par: people were obvously expecting lots of infantry with the occasional tank. We had the occasional tank... or three :p The Preddie had it's main gun blown off in the first game, nothing was destroyed in the second game (though the demolisher and Hellhound were immobilised) and in the third game, the hellhound was reduced to a rapidly expanding ball of prometheum, but not without drawing out their antitank, after which it was swiftly dispatched by liselle's preddie ![]() anyway: first game went well, we sort of pressed them hard from the beginning; since they placed everything but their Hammerhead in reserve, my vehicles went all-ahead full and popped smokes, liselle's preddie moved to where it can be seen as a flanking sniper. Her bikes raced up that flank to meet the firewarriors camping near that objective (who came on the field by turn 2, we held the bikes out of LoS for the first turn). Result: dead FW's. ...after about 3 turns of combat: Note: current bike setup is fairly nice: melta + flamer makes an ideal cleanup squad, and a fairly cheap one at that. The biggest problem was that they couldn't dent a tin can in CC, as we noted during the last game :p I wasn't terribly afraid of the DE side of things: warriors make poor assault units, aside from a single blaster, they had nothing really nasty. Wyches would have bothered me a lot more, since they would have murdered Liselle's squad. Moment of note: Archon fihgting himself to death against grenadiers: first turn of combat, he kills one: I pass Ld. Second turn, he kills two, but oput of 4 attacks, 3 hit and 3 wounds, he fails two saves :p following combat: he rolls a double on his drug-use test. Goodbye pointy-eared limpwrist! It was a little bit of a struggle early on, but at about turn 3, their army really just collapsed, making it nothing but cleanup duty for us. Second game (vs Witch Hunters and Bananarines), we played a bit more defensive (see the party in the building), simply because we had more long-range firepower, the bikes were busy taking care of scouts infiltrating on our flanks, the predator was bothering inquisitorial stormies and taking pot shots for the rest of the game (after it's gun was blown off by a MM bike), basically ended in a huge furball in which it was "pray & shoot" with my demolisher, quite some deviations would have been very nasty indeed. Luck favours the bold, as they say :p In the end, we took them out fairly well. last game vs eldar/eldar, went up evenly, we took care of their antitank quite easily. the warwalkers were forcing my infantry in hiding though, though when they came out to play, I walked in range with plasma grenadiers and... didn't roll too well, giving him a charge next turn: can't really do a whole lot against a bunch of S5 attacks, failed Ld test, rolled high enough on I and ran 11" , right back on the objective and out of LoS, the consolidate forward and are countered by meltagunners, and a las/plas volley from the demolisher, leaving very little but smoky stumps standing. Liselles' bike squadron finally got beaten by the eldar avengers and with the failedcharge of the marshall (which was the last chance we really had to deny them an objective), it was obviously going to be a draw. And yes, I didn't expect that high a place either, but that was sort of because without trying to accuse liselle, the list was suboptimal if you are gunning for a first spot, which wasn't my target to begin with; I'd rather saw that liselle had a fun and interesting first tournament than hanging out in the top tiers and either butchering or getting butchered every round. We had fun, which is what you pay for. Long post, meh. Liselle: we should see if I can get to your place anytime soon, we still have to 'face off' against each other
