Well, you can blame probability for it this time, not dodgy dice rolling ![]() |

EDIT: deleted original comments, I'm probably a little biased. Don't take this game too seriously gents. |

Chance still plays a large part. Do the Scatter Dice homework detailed above and see how you get on |

scatterdice homework done on a gaming table, which conveniantly is not a smooth flat surface. So the die has a tendency to bounce sideways etc. |

To be fair I'm very interested in your theories DS. I have been blessed by the dice gods (my friend Pete will be along shortly to support this!) and I have found that having a positive mental attitude DOES affect rolls. My job is dealing in numbers (large ones!) and there is no room in it for random error and I believe I have a very sound grasp of probability laws so my experience contradicts that which I know to be mathematically impossible. However, I do seem able to generate a LOT of sixes. The guys I regularly play against find it a little frustrating and for me, it is often embarrassing. But I do have belief in my ability to win a game and I know it influences my dice. Saying that, they have found a game I can't win. It involves throwing ones to score!!! Can't do this for love nor money!!!! I see no reason therefore for anyone to get hot under the collar here. Blow logic, there are some things that definitely defy explanation! |

I've got to agree with this. There are times when I've been playing where there's been a ridiculous number of sixes rolled. Highmarshaldave will attest to this, 11 sixes in a row meant his Strike Cruiser went and had a warp drive failure of some magnitude... Defied all probability, and I seriously doubt it will ever happen again, but if happened once before... Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing you come up with Darkseer! |

now you mention it digits, how is it in my short time playing lizzies on their cold blooded leadership check (3 d6, pick two lowest) i consistently rolled 3 sixes or 2 sixes and a five for 5 games in a row!!!!! |

You clearly miffed off the dice gods my friend! Trick with dice, keep a cool head, never get agrieved if they go against you, and tell your opponent what you are about to throw. This last bit works pretty damn cool! If you don't get it, fair enough, random chance. If you DO get it, he looks at you with raised eyebrow and questions his ability to beat you! Then he will put out so many negative vibes whilst you contribute positive ones, and the gods will favour you. Most will think this bunkum! Believe me, I know many an opponent who would agree with me! |

Or you can take it one step further, and mutter 'miss', as your opponnent rolls their dice... You'd better be good friends with them though... isn't that right Gav?

Shield Drones are, when it comes to being shot at, 1 wound broadsides. They have T4 and a 2+ save. If you pack a squad of 3 broadsides getting them to run becomes slightly harder to do. Besides, if armed with a gyrostabilisation system they should be kept in cover until its time to engage... And unless youve been outmaneouvred, 3 battlesuits should reveal themselves to one unit that threatens them alone - their target. Which will (very probably) die shortly

A squad of 3 broadsides is very pricey and not so cost effective when building a tournament list. Keeping broadsides in cover still means they can get shot at and die. I don't know what your terrain is like, but I can't hide them easily on mine and at Warhammer World there's nothing to hide behind. Besides, the Tau player has spent 200pts on the squad. Hiding them instead of shooting is that LAST thing they would ever want to do. I didn't mention battlesuits ?? |

by battlesuits i meant broadsides. All tau battlesuits are battlesuits, be they crisis, broadside or stealth. And i play on ruined city/industrial terrain which offers plenty of cover ![]() And you keep them in cover till your turn, move them to LoS on one enemy and vape said enemy thats what [arse] allows you to do. (always count as standing still for shooting purpose) |
