What should I buy to top this off?; Tyranids

Awhile ago, a friend gave me some of his 'nids. They were in awful condition, but over the last few months I've managed to plug away at them and come up with the following inventory:

1 Hive Tyrant @ 137 Pts
Enhanced Senses +1 BS; Toxin Sacs +1 St; Twin-linked Barbed Strangler

1 Carnifex @ 163 Pts
Venom Cannon, Barbed Strangler, Enhanced Senses, Reinforced Chitin

1 Carnifex @ 113 Pts
Adrenal Glands +1 WS; Toxic Miasma; Scything Talons (x2)

6 Genestealers @ 102 Pts
Feeder Tendrils

6 Genestealers @ 102 Pts
Feeder Tendrils

16 Gaunt Brood @ 160 Pts
Devourer, Toxin Sacs

For a total of 777 points.

Obviously, this is not a super-competitive list, but I think it could be playable.

TACTICS: Half-shooty, half-smashy. Hive Tyrant sits with the Devil Gaunts, giving synapse and scaring off assaulters with its horrible MC-ness. Sniper Fex blows up scary things from a distance, while the CC fex goes HULK SMASH! and charges into the fray alongside the 'stealers. Don't know if it'll work, but hey, free army. Not gonna be too disappointed either way.

My question to the board is this: What should I spend my money on for the last 233 points I'll need to play 1000 point games? I'm thinking Warriors, but I'm uncomfortably low on troops. Spinegaunts with w/o Number, maybe?

Help!

Thanks in advance!

It looks an alright list. The thing about nids though is QUANTITY OVER QUALITY (The golden rule in my honest opinion. I have a small tyranid army, and numbers always swing the balance for me. Don't pay extra for guant, hormagaunt and Genestealer (well, mabye except a Broodlords bodyguard) as you can have more of them for the points 'wasted' on upgrades. And always use all 6 troop choices for nids. ALWAYS.

So, leave the gaunts as they are, they seem ok (Toxin sacs are nesscessary for devourers, although i prefer fleshborers). Make the genestealer squads up to 12-15, and take off the feeder tendrils, they already cost enough and are nasty as they are.
A 16-20 Hormagaunt squad looks like it could be used here. Have no upgrades for them (other then adernal glands if you want them, extra I is good for these guys) and you have a cheap assault squad.

A meat sheild will be a nice addition to these guys, in form of a large unit of spine guants. You can camp these on your home objective, or stick them in front of your main force as a bullet screen for units behind them (OTHER THEN MONSTROUS CRREATURES). So have a unit of at last 16-20 of these guys, don't buy upgrades for them, as all they are is a meat shield anyway.

Synapse is a problem for nid forces, as your Hive Tyrant is too slow for the guants to use his synapse. So i would reccomend 2 units of warriors w/ wings, as they will move fast along with your gaunts adding synapse and a bit of punch in CC. I armed mine with rending claws and sycthing talons, with some extra upgrades. Don't spend too much on these guys remember, as they can get quite expensive.

And they are my tips :)

looks a decent starting list, but as DK said, you need to bulk up on core. build up your stealers, then add some more. add in a zoanthrope (sp) or two for extra anti tank.
a broodlord and retinue is always fun if you like to roll lots of dice :D
