Noone has yet mentioned that the Watchmen film is amazing. ;)

X-Men films... I like them all in a kind of 'popcorn' way. Vast swathes of them don't make sense, lots of very cool characters are pretty poorly served but if you don't think too hard they are OK. Things I like off the top of my head:

Hugh Jackman as Wolvie says was born to be Wolverine. I don't particulary like the character, Having read Uncanny X-men and it's various spinoffs since the early nineties I believe the character as been massively overdone. But before anyone jumps on me that is just my opinion. I used to like Wolverine but I've read about a billion versions of his origin and have to admit the thought of this movie leaves me cold. BUT as I say, Hugh Jackman is perfect for the role.

Alan Cumming, Ian Mckellan and Patrick Stewart all play it pretty well... Mystique is fit...erm. I'm trying to think of anything else... Cerebro was cool?

Oh, Vinnie Jones was dreadful as the Juggernaut. Especially considering he's meant to be Xaviers brother. Wots wiv dat cockerny geeza ak-sent?

Ultimately though they are, to me, just popcorn movies. Full of plotholes and missed oppurtunities which is a shame because I do like the X-men. I don't think anyone of them is dreadful, rather that all three are average which in many ways worse(especially in light of the rich vein of source matierial a moviemaker has when it comes to the X-men).

I'll wait for the Wolverine movie to come to DVD and even then borrow it off someone rather than watch it.

Other superhero movies:

Spiderman: :)
Spiderman 2: :D
Spiderman 3: :X
Batman Begins: :)
The Dark Knight: :ermm: (Mainly for reasons Tinners mentioned but also because nobody seems to have much perspective when it comes to Heath Ledger. If he hadn't died then perhaps we might see a few varied appraisals of his performance rather than:

OMG! HEETH WAS TEH BEST THING EVA!1! +++++

Don't get me wrong. I thought he was very good but people tend to ignore the film and concentrate solely on him. Which is maybe why it's got this reputation for being the best superhero movie ever made... Oh and I'm gonna say this and prepare for the public stoning but Christian Bale is crap in the Dark Knight. I hate that stupid voice he puts on as Batman.

Not seen Iron Man though I'm told it is excellent.

Not seen the FF movies but I'm told they are dreadful.

Also I'm a sensible boy and will probably never watch Electra, Daredevil, Punisher etc. They all bore the life out of me on the printed page, never mind on my TV.

Captain America and Justice League are still the worst. Spidey 3 and X Men 3 have a different level of crud connected to them. Can't see me ever watching either again.

But I said I haven't seen it... ;)

Andy, I most likely will see it. Just most likely not at the cinema. I'm moving 'ouse at the weekend so money is pretty tight.

'Sides which, I'm saving my cinema money for Star Trek. Even though I think that looks pretty sucky (I'm a huge Trekkie, spent three years with my girlfriend watching the whole thing on her insistence).

Keravin- I've heard nothing but great things about Iron Man. I actually have a geek knowledge gap when it comes to Tony Stark but I like the concept. I'll see it soon most likely.

Antipope - you'll end up liking him after the movie. Downey's charm sells the whole show. Plus the armour is great.

I'm waiting for Star trek too. Hearing nothing but great reviews about it.

Really? I hope so, I really do. I love Star Trek so much that I'll be pretty damned upset if it's crap. Hopefully the only continuity glitches are the ones in the trailer. ;)

Pope as with all comic lines there are alternative storylines e.g. the ultimate x-men, uncanny x-men, amazing x-men all of these have are beloved characters but with different storylines and back stories.

And the Movies are an example of this. (Which I enjoyed way to much to be health). In the Movies Juggernaut ain't Prof X brother and in fact is mutant and not the mystical empower thing as in the comics.

For Wolvie, I can't say a bad thing about great character great depth, and no way over done. as for his true origin it is good to stick with the Origin series that ran which the movie kind of follows.

Also not forgetting movies are a different medium to tell a story and only have 2 hours to tell a story and not a series of comics.

Until te X-men movies I could not say who was my favourite actor/actress and now I am a Huge Hugh Jackman fan and have seen almost all his movies expect his last 2 austrailia and decption just haven't had time. I have even seen oklahoma.

As for the elektra etc etc movie see them they are fun crap to watch not a waste of time.

As for thr new trek movie not that fussed will go see maybe if only to see scotty :D

You know, till you said that I had completely blocked out the fact that Simon Pegg is playing Scotty. Now I feel the dread again. To me it's the equivalent of casting Ken Dodd as Mccoy.

Well... I've just been doing some 'important research' (:)) on Star Trek and feel a bit better. It seems most think it's good if not 'cerebral' so maybe it'll be OK...

I'm hearing good things on the sequel so we'll see. Looking forward to seeing my mate's designs up on the big screen again.
