Escape from Eidos - Playtesting; Help Needed!

Hey guys!

With our participation games coming up at the UK Games Day, we really could do with some help playtesting this beast! Due to certain circumstances (my operation and SC's, meaning we can't get together for some sweet, sweet playtesting, other volunteers not having gaming partners and the like), we could do with some of you guys running through the rules a few times and pointing out any overwhelming glitches you can find!

To help aid us, the wonderful Pfreck has created some brilliant sheets of counters - print them both out and cut out the counters, then you'll need an area roughly 4ft by 4ft, with a couple of stand ins for zombie entry points (I'd suggest coke cans or something similar) and a landing pad - a White Dwarf magazine should be about the right size.

The warbands each set up in the location of one of the red circles. This will change per game we play on the day for a little variety.

The game rules can be found at the end of the post, you will need a copy of the current 40k ruleset in order to use this scenario!

The rules for each of the warbands and the zombies can be found by following this link:

Warbands Rules

Whilst the counters can be found:

Zombies

Right - that should be about it! If you can help then we'd all be eternally grateful - we need to iron out any little bugs, but for the most part its a fun, pick up and slaughter some zombies and save your leaders skin kind of game. Hope you'll come down and check us out at Games Day!

You can find the original thread HERE if you want to see what we're cooking up miniatures and terrain wise!

Please leave any comments here - if you only have time to give them a read over, we'd still value any suggestions and advice!

Thanks!

Right - well thats a bit of a speed bump ain't it? :)

If you PM me your email address, I'll send them there - Pfreck was hosting them, so I'll need to speak to him as soon as I can...

Thanks for your help guys, I'll get this sorted ASAP.

Hi guys,

Chris, I told you that it wouldn't work! :P

Okay, this is how it does work:
  • Click the link. I usually opens in a new browser.
  • Click on the field on your browser where the link appears. (it usually turns blue now)
  • Hit the "Enter" button.
  • Et Voilá!

I hope this works, it did for me!

Cheers,

Rens.

I'm just going over the rules.

Presumably once an Inquisitor gets into the landing pad door the game is over as the escape shuttle is already waiting?

Also, how large are the deployment zones exactly? How far from the landing pad are the groups set up?

How many zombies start on the board?
Or are there no zombies until turn 2?

Deserter will get back to you about the other questions but I can answer one of them.

On the 'The Populace of Eidos' player card it says the starting force is 6 zombies withing 3" of each entrance. From turn two onwards D6+3 arrive from each entrance.

All three warbands start the same distance away from the landing pad - this should be around about 30 inches I imagine.

When we wrote the rules I'd envisaged a ramp onto the landing pad, but due to the difference (the landing pad Rictus' has designed doesn't have one) I'd say that if an Inquisitor/Magos ends the turn in contact with the ladder then that team wins the game. This gives enough time for other warbands or zombies to intervene. If an Inquisitor/Magos is in close combat then they cannot escape until either they have dispatched their opponents or they're dead.

Another thing, when it comes to close combat, you only resolve combat for the team members of the particular players team.

All clear and understood.

One more thing. I feel the ad mech warband is rather weak compared to the others.
The Inquisitors and their best troopers are totting power weapons

The ad mech praetorian needs a BS of 3 which should balance things.
