I'm definitely interested in trying to join in/help out where possible. I admit I'm lazy and haven't looked but is there a date (even provisional) for the bash next year, as I have my first free sandy holiday in April so have a limited timeframe available. I will try and get a small force painted up, would help to give me a reason to paint.

Mortare if hes reading...whoops its dark so he scaring cattle in the highlands... you are not allowed to borrow your employers aircraft just to make points up!

While you were posting that I was indeed out scaring myself, it was even too dark for NVGs! What sort of apoc strategy card does a dumb 1000lb concrete bomb count as? It would be even more effective than a vortex grenade, you would even need to remove your figures, they just cease to be!

Sounds like my kind of night, mortare!

By sandy holiday (pardon the ignorance) i assume you mean deployment? if so, have a good time!

Back on topic, any chance of getting involved in this down under?

hot sandy holidays sound better than "out of area deployment", less depressing and doesn't sound as dangerous

I was thinking away to my self today....as OG mentioned trying to make the games at the bash smaller scale than last years big Apoc game, I assume the different tables will represent different sectors of the planet/continent being fought over....

....the defining aspect of this planet of the reliance on air power (aircraft or A/C)and traditional navy assets (e.g. gunboats, tugs, ork submersibles etc). Are there plans afoot to allow A/C to traverse from one table to another? I was pondering the idea of leaving one sector, taking a turn to move to the next (so fly about bombing/shooting on turn one, miss turn two as A/C speeds to the next table, turn 3 A/C becomes effect on the next table and so on...)

....the oceanic nature of the planet also got me pondering the idea of most tables having one or more edge that are bordered by water. This would limit what could come in from reserve and from where, so chimeras, all skimmers and any ocean going craft (landing craft, ork subs etc) would be allowed to come in from that edge, but sadly no flank marching SpaceMarine battle company! This would offer tremendous scope for modelling, and give your opponent a real scare when you line up 10 chimera loads of IG in his deployment zone...

more randomness from gonzo!

Another thought to consider is that, the "big apoc game" could in fact be mutliple smaller games.

No need to have everyone duking it out with each other, in fact, once we get a better idea of those who have committed to attending the Open Bash we can arrange certain engagements that match the background we've created up until the Open Bash.

Then some of you fellas could actually finish your games. :)

Thief!

Overal plan for the combined Apoc Games:

2 Vs 2 Battles, they all tie in, i.e. Orks assaulting a tau ICBM base, every turn they're allowed to fire, the missiles hit one of the other tables.

Right, you're not a real thief... but I've had that in my head for a while...

Where do we post fluff for our armies? I got a killer backstory that justifies my Fallen, just gotta figure out where to go.

I have started a new Plog for my new amy, my fluff will appear there for the time being, I may whack it into a devoted "xenos fluff thread" if one makes an appearance!

Go post in someone's topic that you normally wouldn't
Any chance of the list of who is doing what so we can start to piece stuff together?

*Cough*

Splinter Hive for 'nids?

Splinter Fleet is more like it. Perhaps if someone can show me whereabouts the system is on the Galactic map I can volunteer my life and soul away to do something for my chitinous brethren (though my Extinction Angels are also so in this....)

Btw I ain't got a clue, but to add to the campaign do I have to be part of a team? I mean I intend to play some regular battles with my Raven Guard, but they are more or less done as an army and so wouldn't be able to contribute any points to the team for each month. I am a judge anyway so wouldn't be able to participate in that side of things, but can I still play games with fluff for the campaign and have that counted towards the overall thing?

I've also got two finished armies I can play with, and was thinking of joining that way. I could join team WAAGH! if they really need me tho..

Possibly controversial - but would it be worth removing the two parts of the rules that lose your team points? I know it does take something away from the competative aspect of the teams but I'm sure that there are people who, like me, would be happy to contribute but aren't sure they could keep to the deadlines and don't want to penalise the team as a result. If you make your target you get the points, if not you get nothing.
