If you are insane enough to read this thread from start to finish, PLEASE do post up and say hello, I would welcome any input as to where to take them next.......

Initially, they are just going to be one large Armoured Fist company. I'm aiming eventually for 10 chimeras (about 100 men) + a little support. (The tanks of the FSB will be incorporated after GD!). A couple of painted shots todate...

Tonight, I just built the second Chimera, converted a metal officer (needs feeding up! lol) and made up a new grenade launcher specialist.....

Ha! Hedley, don't I know it!! Don't worry though, once GD is out of the way, both my Sisters and my Chaos will get plenty of attention as well as me adding some reinforcements to the skellies!! Once the plastic drop pods come out (duck's for pigs) then I'll look at the Howling Griffons!!!!! Damn, I'm sure I forgot one.....

Guys - thanks.

Damn! Thank god for larger pictures! I just noticed I left the spare track unfastened! lol

cool, love the pose on the grenade launcher guy, really excellent. IMO the sniper with the "rags" should have more of them if he's going to have them at all . any ways keep up the good work.

Digits these are going to form into one of the best IG armies on the forum, there are some damn good one, including your Skellies, but these guys are going to be up there with them easily!

The 2nd Chimera is looking good. I would love to give this army a game at somepoint once its up to a game playing size.

Cheers Hive mate! I'll try and maintain the variety! To be fair it's quite easy as I hate painting the same figure twice!!

Speaking of which, if anyone has the rifle slung over the shoulder from the command cadian fw pack, would they like to swap it for the injured hand equivalent from the respirator upgrade pack. I'm just concious I have 3 already!

I also have a few Elysian weopons for swaps too.

Sheep - thanks !

This is such a great looking army and shows very well why IG has one of the most appealing "looks" in 40K. What I like best is all of the small details, the gear on the tanks, the general poses and the "gilly-suit" that you`ve incorporated.

Great stuff all in all :)

I saw "Voltiguers" in the title and thought light infantry not mechanised. Oh well.

Looking good, shall look forward to seeing more progress.

Drogan 22nd Voltigeurs

Mobile Infantry Regiment

The term "Voltigeur" originated from the words "to vault" or "leap". As such, this regiment specialises in rapid forward deployment, very often finding themselves behind enemy lines, holding strategic objectives long enough to be relieved, or destroying strategic targets and awaiting extraction..

To carry out this role, they forgo heavy armour and support, relying instead on deployment by Arvus, Valkyrie or by their APC's and Chimera Light Tanks.

An absence of heavy armour has required the Drogans to favour Las cannons and Melta support weaponry to counter enemy vehicles. Cadian pattern sentinels are used in scouting roles though increasingly, Elysian pattern sentinels are being phased in. They have a close working relationship with the Imperial Navy, relying on close air support either to add punch, resupply, insert or extract them. In turn, the Drogans will often be found guarding Navy Forward Strike Bases (FSB's) or operating as Forward Air Observers.

Units from the 22nd are often sought out to undertake scouting missions or act as outriders, a function particularly suited to their "Dragon" riders and their highly mobile bike squads.

The 22nd have a distinguished record including action in the jungles of Armageddon, supporting Catachan forces against the green tide and have found themselves seconded to support Inquisitorial forces on numerous classified missions.

Drogan Prime

The planet of Drogan Prime is to be found at the heart of of the Segmentum Tempestus, orbiting around twin suns in the Gremlinus Binary system. Drogan Prime is and agri-world, predominantly oceanic with less than 18% sub tropical landmass. Polar ice caps accounting for less than 1.5% of the surface cover both poles.

Founding

The 22nd Voltigeurs Founding took place in 992.M41 along with one other Voltigeur and three Heavy Infantry regiments.

To be continued.....
