In killteam rules exist stating that no multiwound models can be taken. Now, heres the bit that intrigues me. That very rule infers "hq units are too valuable to risk". However, there is no explicit statement that hq units cannot be taken.

Assuming we disregard normal unit structure, a Fire warrior bodyguard unit can be taken at BS4. Legal or not?

I dont have my codex anymore... but dont you have to take an ethereal first to take them? If so, then i would say it wouldnt be legal... but thats just me ;)

im sure you have to take an ethereal before you can take a guard for it
*looks for codex to check and realise i haven't got one*

i read it as a unit must contain 1 ethereal and he can take a bodyguard to acompany him. If we discard the standard unit structure (1 mutable law) then we can take a unit of bodyguards.

Thats my interpretation anyway :P

hmmmm...

no. the honorguard is more of an upgrade to the ethereal than a unit entry itself, like the commander bodyguard is. the xv8 bodyguard has an actual entry in the list, while the honor guard is listed as a squad upgrade for firewarriors that requires an ethereal to use.

now if we were playing a friendly game, i'ld say no problem. anything else tho, where there is prizes (not just a congrats) to win, i'll say no.

chances are most people wont like it...
