I am looking for advice from the ammobunker masses! Basically I am 30 this year and have been big time hinting that I want a warhound titan. As the ruller of my house (or at best 2nd in command, after the wife!) it will happen. What I would like is advice on the merits of all the weapon options. I don't want to blow £280 on something that is a lame configuration. I have in my mind what is basically the "classic" config, plasma blastgun and vulcan mega bolter, which gives a nice spread of anti infantry and anti armour fire power. Has anyone any experience of the other weapons, namely the inferno cannon? Is there anyone who has played with/against one armed with identical weapons? Ultimately I would love to have all the weapons options but FW, in their infinite wisdom, don't sell them as an upgrade kit! while on the subject, does anyone have hints/tip/links to suppliers for strong rare earth magnets, to allow easy storage/transpotration? Cheers dudes! |

I to am in the same pickle at the moment over my titan... I can however say that at least one of your weapons should be a Vulan

I think it will depend on the kind of game you will use it in. In large cityfight games with lots of cover saves, the inferno gun comes into it's own. In large open board type games, range becomes an issue and with 15 shots, the vulcan is pretty cool. Both are MEQ killers. For me, I'd rather take the vulcan for the coolness, and leave building clearance to the grunts and their hellhounds. Edit: This assumes of course you always take the plasma! Why wouldn't you?

Could you go down the complex route of buying a Warhound with 2 weapons that don't include a plasma blastgun and an Arkurian Stormblade. Build the Stormblade as a straight Baneblade and convert the cannon to fit the Titan. |

Penguin of death - I would like to have a nice shiney stormblade one day (damn you Digits!), but would not be too fussy about trying to convert it to a normal bane blade (£85 chop shop when I can get Baneblades online for £48 is a bit of a no brainer!). I have been looking at This guy and am thinking about buying my first titan, making a cast of the weapons, buying a second with both different weapon options and casting them too. I could then flog the second titan, and retain one warhound with all weapon options (including the option of casting up "doubles"). Obviously this would be for my own use and I would not start making copies of FW models for anyone else! I don't see this option as being a bad thing, as I will be spending money to get my titan in the first place, it is lazy compared with scratchbuilding the weapons but hey, I am no Rictus or Tinners! It is an interesting idea, I may well start a general painting and modellign thread on this! I just have to wait now for my birthday (I hate waiting, especially having to wait until the 31st of December!). Nearer the time I will probably put a poll with the various weapon options. |
