Corporal Posts: 17 Group: Sub-Comrade Member #156 Joined: October 10, 2007	OK, so I finally decided to start a project log. The army is a homebrew space marine chapter called Aegis Astartes. It's an Imperial Fist successor chapter with dark green armour. Follows the codex to the letter. Chapter symbol is a silver shield surrounded by a laurel wreath. Homeworld is quite close to Terra and the chapter fortress (The Bastion) is on a northerly continent. The chapter imagery for characters makes good use of polar bear skins... So far, I've completed a test tactical marine, and done conversion work for the chapter master (pics soon courtesy of Galikoe588), the chapter banner bearer and librarian (with cyber polar bear familiar). Another four marines have seen paint but need finishing and a squad of scouts wait for their scratchbuild drop pod to be completed. No vehicles as yet but planning on some land speeders and raiders to bring up the transports.

Angel Robertson - Think grimy dark angels with bronze detailing for most decorative metal parts. I'll get some pics of the tactical marine. Penguin - The polar bear is the old wood elf bear with a collar and bionic eye added. Again, pics soon alongside my specially converted librarian backpack... KayvaanShrike - Will get some pics up as soon as I can bug Galikoe to borrow his camera. I'll be looking to paint this guy soon but I've a squad of scouts and the librarian that are first in the queue so that me and Galikoe can get a Combat Patrol game going (before he unleashes his hordes of marines...).

My librarian will have a cyber badger, that doesnt mean my chapter heraldry will be a badger ... oh no,.. its going to be the lesser spotted brown back amazonian bull frog....with three eyes. *edit* not really, no libbys in my force...as yet.

I actually chose the chapter name after I chose the symbol (earlier name was The Emperor's Shields). I agree that the bear's might not quite fit with such an imperial style badge, but are there as a reference to the chapter's homeworld (the bases are arctic tundra for this reason too) without going too far along the space wolf line for a Fist successor. As for the lightning references - good idea, hence the lightning claws on the CM. The chaplain's command squad champion is going to have an old dark elf shield that has the traditional greek medusa face on.

It's simply a metal veteran with some arm swaps and an 8 piece converted crozius. I don't like the chaplain skull helmets so will paint a skull onto a normal marine helm instead. He's also armed with the shield I mentioned as his rosarius - pics soon. Also, additional basic fluff: Homeworld - Ganymede, 3rd moon of Jupiter Motto - Lauro Scutoque Resurgo (I rise again by the laurel and shield)

Corporal Posts: 17 Group: Sub-Comrade Member #156 Joined: October 10, 2007	Been a long time since I last posted. My army hasn't come on that far but it's been good to have a break and re-visit stuff. Fluff is to be revised. Still Imperial Fists Successors though... Chapter master is going under the knife. LC's will be replaced with thunder hammer and storm shield, bear banner has gone, and due to be re-based as well. Here's the painted banner bearer: I've also started work on a captain for my tenth company. Artificer armour that looks like scout armour. Rest of the command squad will be wearing scout armour 'counts as' power. Telion body with sicarius head. Hand on hilt of sheathed power sword. I have some work to do to tidy up the fit on the new pieces and I may add some more to the shield.
