welcome one and all to the fiasco that is my painting war. Before you get all excited i must warn you that updates will be few and far between. As a married teacher i have little free time, it's not all long holidays i assure you
This log will mostly contain my ever increasing guard stuff, from the ongoing Cadians to the still boxed and unassembled DK and Vossies, it will also be the home of any such thing that takes my fancy (and i'm easily distracted ). To start this log off here's a pic' of the last thing i painted : ![]() A new commissar with friends ![]() and with some more less important friends I'll chuck some more junk up at some point, let me know what you think

Awesome stuff. I had a game or two of A.I a while back, and plan on getting an Eldar fleet when I get some cash, was a good fun game to play. |

I was thinking to go with deathskulls for the lootas, not sure whether i want to stick to just one clan, or mix 'em up a bit? I quite like the idea of lots of different brightly coloured units to make a change from my sombre shadow grey/black guard I,ve managed to undercoat the lootas, just got to touch where the spray has missed. I'm not intending to go over board on the paint jobs, just a basic gaming standard

oooh a PIP pic of a loota boy, i've basically put down the base colours on this test mini, loving the foundation paints. My guard didn't relly let me use them apart from the commy. Dis mob iz gonna be deffskullz, wiv loadsa 'lucky' blue threads and stuff ![]() ![]() The pic's aren't too great as the ink isn't quite dry and the flash picked up on this. What do you think so far? The last greenie i painted was a 2nd ed goff from the main box over a decade ago

Thanks guys, it is indeed just the base coat. I wanted to give my foundation paints a workout, so i primarily just used them to see if they worked
I'm quite happy with the base colours, but the ork flesk will indeed be highlighted a lot

Looking great so far. What's the mix on the ork's loota gun? Drybrush tin bitz and boltgun metal? Looks nice as-is (at least in the pics). |

To be honest, i couldn't be bothered to dig out the tin bitz or bgm, it's simply a savage dry brush using chainmail, followed by a copius brown ink wash
I will probably go back and add more variation to the colouring at a much later point, but to be honest i want a fairly simple quick scheme so i don't get bogged down. Even a small mob is going to be number heavy, and i'm already failing miserably to do my huge guard army justice

Looking very nice. Your guard scheme looks very similar to one I knocked up a while back. If you're enjoying using Foundations it looks like Fenris Grey would be useful for speeding up your guard a bit. Thats what I used and it came out ok. I'm a die hard imperial but that box set looks so sweet... God damn you Mork and Gork... At least it'll be blue

very slow going i know, but thats me i'm afraid. I present a PIP mekboy;![]() dat iz a snazzy kustom shooty fing ![]() an ere iz me lucky blue pantz, nevva go ta war wiv out em The rest of the lootas are in varying stages of paint, once i've got them all base coated and washed then the fun will start, highlights and details. I'm not sure how the skin is going to turn out, i usually paint a medium base then shade and highlight. i've started dark this time using orkhide, not sure whether to go for goblin green or gretchin green for the highlights (building up from orkhide of course), any suggestions? Cheers
