I've had many attempts at trying to play Warhammer, but i just couldn't get past 40K.

With my Imperial Guard project being halted by hearing about plastic Greatcoats, i've decided to make 2 Warhammer armies. They will be O&G and Dwarfs, since i have core troops for both armies due to having BFSP. I think the first army i will do is O&G, since they have the most painted models, and mabye do a bit of Dwarves as i go.

And the real reason i posted here.

I need help on how to expand my BFSP Goblins. I like to have a mix of things, so all the help i can get is great.

I like to have hard hiting units supported by good flanking units. I want so boarboyz too :)

Cheers

So do you want suggestion of units or schemes or what? Can help you a little with the dwarf side, but only suggest what O&G look fairly cool or hard.

Well with Dwarfs it's best to decide if you want a static line, in which case go shooty, or something a little more proactive. In either case I'd take at least one unit of miners who can appear behind you enemy and cause trouble, and some rangers who can be lonkedin a wood or something and cause marching problens. Slayers are good for staying stuck in until the end and you should include at least one cannon! Gyrocopters are also good for taking out opposition war machines.

Yeah, i'm definatly getting a Gyrocopter since reading the 1st 7th Edition Battle report in WD. Boy, them fanatics got pulled :P

I want some guns, inc. the cannon i have, and probably an organ gun or a bolt thrower. I'll be adding to the miners, might be getting a unit of Hammerers and might be getting some slayers.

Are Hammerers any good?

For Orcs and Goblins the choice is easy: simply add a regiment or so of orcs and black orcs as your core army unless you want goblins. Then get your Black orc boss, and if the IG aren't out by the time they're painted, get some war machines!

I play O&G, and my advice is to be very careful how you use them -- get an army just for the look, and you're never going to win. I should know. :P

BO Warboss, Harder and made of sterner stuff IIRC.

As for Hammerers they are traditionally the bodyguard of the king/lord, and have big assed double handed hammers which strike last, but since Dwarves generally hit last anyway that's not so much a problem. Having said that, they are stubborn and are immune to fear and terror if joined by a lord. Equally, Ironbreakers are a good solid unit, being a point more per dwarf, but having a 3+ save as standard rather than a 5+. However, For a core unit that goes nowhere you can look no further than unit of longbeards, immune to panic and allow unit within 6" to re-roll panic tests.

Dwarfs really slow but rock hard units hammerers are great when combined with the lord and longbeards are just great, organ guns rock and you want at least 2 oh and the anvil of doom is the broken thing in the warhammer rules set.

For O&G wolfriders for flankers, gobbo boltthrowers are good, squigs are fun as are pump wagons and black orcs are just nails.

black orcs are way better with the animosity rules and the choise of heavy armour and it will surely help when a waaagh is called.

and remember big uns are realy worth it a extra ws and strenght, also in the first round of combat they have a extra strenght thanksto choppas.

a real good start for a orc army are around 40 or 50 orcs (makes 2 very good fighting units) and 20 black orcs for some extra mucle.

and a orc shamam that uses the BIG WAAAGH magic automaticly is just 100 points of course level2.

so first get a bulk of orcs and a black orc warboss or black orc bigg boss, and a hard unit of black orcs.

a unit of squigs are the best with o&g and a giant is allways fun
with dwarfs have a gun line army with one big unit of ironbreakers about 30+ with a hero in there and that should beat most units and some miners to use uderground advance and take out any war machines hiding at the back of the board

all of the above idears for o&g i agree with but i personaly like a solid block of savage of boys with two choppers, bannner of butchery and make them a big unit and they put out 21 strength 5 attacks in the first round of combat ;) ( there goes the blood knights)
