Some seriously beautiful buildings in here and that fountain is exceptional. Now I have to go and make one if I can find the time Also I think that industrial piece would look good with some textured plasticard... the non slip floorig stuff thats in a cross hatch pattern with some railings and painted in the dark red paint used on girders and exposed steel. Very inspiring stuff!!!! |

Cheers guys - much appreciated. Well, this thread died a bit. I still need to finish converting the process structure into something rusty. I've gotten hold of some more corrugated card so I'll be boxing in the ground floor shortly. I also want to add a serious stockpile of fuel barrels to it, but they can get a little expensive, soooooo.....using the same method I used for tank traps in the battlefield clutter tutorial, I'm going to try casting them from latex molds. All the barrels I have left, blutac'd to some board ![]() First layer of liquid latex, painted over a film of liquid Vaseline. ![]() On the next layer, I'm thinking of wrapping a layer of gauss around it then layering over it again. In this manner, I'm hoping the molds will be able to withstand more punishment than normal as I intend to cast myself a lot of these barrels! Will add a few more layers over the coming days until they are strong enough to turn out.... Edited by Digits, 18 Oct 2009, 02:02 PM.

You're casting barrels? That could be a good idea, they are tricky to get hold of (is it one per tank still with the new demolisher kit?), but have so many uses. Of course it would probably be a breach of copyright if other people offered to buy some off of you. Which is why I would never suggest that. Ever. But good luck with the casting. |

Hey digits... I know what you mean about the barrels... I hate that they are so useful but too expensive to use them in every project. I was thinking about casting some but I'll wait for yours to see if it works. |

Aye - purely for personal use! But this easy to do mate. The materials I use can be found in the clutter tutorial. The barrels are three from the gw obstacles kit and a couple of 1/35 tamiya ones. My mate Brian will cast them all for me. If I can twist his arm enough, I may even get a couple of hundred out of him!!! |

Crystalcast plaster powder. It's rock hard, and for these, will be fine. I'll tend to stack the plaster ones and use a few loose plastic ones about them. |

Well than. I can't wait to see the finished product!!! Like I said, if it works for you I might be motivated in making some for myself. |

As someone who'd love to do a fuel depot, I'm really interested in how these turn out. |
