You probably saw me; I was the tall loon with the fleece around his waist that wandered over several times in a false moustache. I didn;t announce myself because I wasn;t sure if it was the Stirling Wargamers that were hiding you and Steel legion

I had a brilliant weekend, it was fantastic to meet all those people I've been talking with for so many months, and all I can keep saying is many thanks to Jason and his family for letting me stay with them. I had a great time looking around Warhammer World on Saturday, meeting Rictus and Dominus, and playing Sam and his Death Guard. I guess I did really get my arse handed to me, first time the Dragon Rider went down, but it was one of the best games I had had in a long time. At least, one of the 6 models I killed was a Land Raider. Possibly even more fun was the 9,000 points battle that followed though. Too bad we couldn't finish it but I guess Rictus might've broken into tears if he kept rolling 1s and blowing up his own tanks for another 4 turns. Games Day itself was absolutely awesome, so many great models and terrain boards on display, it really is handy to be tall when you want to look at the Golden Daemon entries. Meeting many great people like SC, little Dave, Catferret, Asmodai and loads of others was awesome. Getting to see some of the new Orks and other yet-to-be-released models in the flesh was really neat, I have totally fallen in love with the new plastic Dragon and Cold Ones for Fantasy, must get some and stick Marines on them! Well anyway, as I said, an awesome weekend, meeting old friends with new faces, and even catching both my flights. Loved it! |

Hi guys.. It was great to meet you all, and to see your wonderful entries into the competition.. Rictus.. dont say you cannot paint.. your landraider was great... Jase your command tank was even larger that I had suspected.. sometimes it is difficult to get a scale of a model just from looking at photograhs.. Well done to you all, just a pity that none made it through to the final round.. I thought that 'Games day' was one of the best that they have had for quite a few years.. there were lots of amzing 'new' models to see. I loved the new orcs -especially the trul and bikes.. but for me the star of the show had to be the Reaver Titan.. Nice to be able to put a face to everyone, Best wishes, Carl |

Just wanted to say it was great meeting all you nerdles at GD. Was astonished and suprised to find rictus a LOT less forthcoming with comments to my face than he is on msn and these forums!
 I must say i felt like the only normal person on planet 'strange', and looking around the NEC, i couldnt quite believe it could hold quite so many weird people. I'd like to say i found the whole experience an uplifting, exciting, and eyeopening event, but then i'd be talking as much bullshit as rictus does! I do think i handled myself with dignity, and didnt let it be known what i REALLY thort about having to be there. Im sure anyone looking at me would of assumed i was having a great time!!! Must admit it was nice meeting you all, and im still reeling from the fact that 1 or 2 of you actually looked 'normal', but i still swear hedley hired an actor to go in his place. No one that looks like that could possibly be a total nerd!!! Altho it kills me to say it, the painting and modelling standard from you lot was incredible (and yes i was dragged round and made to look at each and every piece!) <_< Anyway, a big WELL DONE to you all, even if i still think your all weird, nerdy, freaky, sad......mumble |
