Noire listened as Shae expressed her thoughts. Honestly, she was right. They really didn't have anywhere else to go. After all, they both had found family that claimed to have been looking for them, so maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to remain on The Alice with Rubi and Leon. Yes...Leon. At first, she didn't trust him at all, but then he revealed his own abilities shortly after they met. Still, he smelled too much like human, having been free of Ravenholm all these years. However, Rubi was human, so maybe not all of them were bad. Still, it was strange thinking of settling on an airship only a day after they had escaped that nightmarish place. "I'm willing to stay," she admitted. "Even though I don't trust anybody completely on the ship yet, Rubi looked pretty serious about busting into Ravenholm. I've even been told that she still plans to destroy that place, and I want to be there to see it gone." === Aidan just listened, not really surprised. He sighed, eyeing the cigarette Leon held. For a doctor, he certainly was careless about his own health. Although he guessed for people like him and Leon, health wasn't exactly a concern. Their metabolism worked more diligently. Taking a swig of his beverage, he mulled over what exactly to say. Consoling wasn't particularly his strong suit, but maybe Leon needed some words of wisdom at the moment. "We all lose our innocence along the way. It's the price of living in this era." He finished off his bottle before calling for another one. "You're just going to have to accept that she's not the same girl you remember. Is it really your fault she ended up that way? Of course not. After all, wasn't it your parents that sent her away? You should be directing the blame at them, not at yourself. Besides, in this day and age, innocence won't help you survive. You and I know that very well." === Garrick arched a brow. "You'd lose," he boasted lightly. Still the idea of a challenge from a beautiful woman intrigued him. |

Shaede nodded slightly as Noire spoke... "We can always change our minds later," she mused, "And I agree with you... Ravenholm must burn..." She then turned to face the captain, "If we stayed, what would be our entitlements?" she asked. She wanted to make an informed decision, to know what she would have to do, what she would receive as a crew member. She didn't want to end up in another tiny grey cell... Rubi seemed genuine, albeit brash... but her crew seemed to respect her... not so much McKay... but she was still assessing him. While he certainly was pretty to look at, it was likely he thought them monsters after seeing the carnage they had left. She would have to keep an eye on him === Leon nodded, understanding that the pilot was right, "I know that they have suffered, and I know they need to be hardened in this world now... but it's... difficult to see." he put the cigarette out in the ashtray beside him. "I'll get over it eventually but..." He sighed, "That was one of the more scary things I've seen... and I have seen some shit..." He shook his head, "So... what do you make of them?" he asked curiously. He tapped the bar to alert the tender. A hand gesture confirmed two more of the same, paying for the round himself. === Avalynn smirked, "You say that because I am a girl... but I'll have you know I have experience in these things," She laughed, and paused at a wooden door. "This is you Master Ritter... I however, am there," She pointed to a door opposite to his, "So... yours or mine?" she grinned, leaning on the wall beside his door. |

Garrick's brows rose some. He wasn't sure if she was referring to a setting for their drinking game, or something much more...sinful. Rather than say anything at first, he looked inside his room. Since it was a scouter ship, it was rather basic in design, but large enough for two people to move around. It had a nice view with its outwardly curved windows stretching across the far wall. In one corner was a double-sized bed with cushy sheets, in another was a round table and two chairs. In the third corner close to the bed was a small walk-in closet, and in the last corner was a private bathroom with a sink, toilet, and glass shower stall. For it's basic setting, it was more luxurious than what he was used to. While the walls and floors of his house were drab and unpainted, this place had a nice coppery wood-like varnish that gave it that warmth and comfort. "Nice place," he said, walking over to the table and putting his bag upon it. He tapped his foot some, measuring his own environment. Though it looked to be made of wood, underneath was definitely metal. Good. "Before we decide on anything...how about a tour of your ship?" He gave her a knowing smirk. For him, any setting was perfectly fine. === Aidan stared into space. "The little Squire...she kind of scares me a bit. She looks like she's some kind of bundled up ball of nerves and anger." Not that Noire had done anything, but that was just the impression Aidan had of her due to her immediate distrust of him when they met. "I feel like, one wrong move and she'd yell at me or something. Although," he added, taking a swig, "her ability seems pretty unique. Most of our sort just have something akin to sorcery. Other than her quiet hostility, she's okay." He looked at Leon. "I hear you had a little run-in with her last night. What do you think of her?" === Rubi watched the girl with some sleepy interest, already relaxed in the pool. It took a moment for her to answer. "I'll put it simply. Equal work, equal share. I'm sure McKay has already informed you a bit on how I run things. With each heist, exactly fifty percent of the whole goes straight to those less fortunate. The rest goes towards supplies, repairs, and whatever is left is for our...secret stash." Noire arched a brow. "Secret stash?" Rubi sighed, closing her eyes. "It's the savings for when we finally hit Ravenholm. Afterwards, I plan on taking down the palace and fortress at Halbir. If left alone, they'll just build another facility." Raising her head and looking at the pair, she said with a disquieted tone. "Slowly the world is being taken over by Sinclaire." "We don't know much about the royal family other than what they taught us at Ravenholm," Noire explained. "They just said we should obey the queen and her son, or else we'll be punished." "You were already being punished," Rubi put in bitterly then sighed again, but a little more angrily. "They just acted like they weren't doing any punishment of the sort." "Who are they, exactly?" Noire asked softly. At first, Rubi didn't answer, lost in her own thoughts until the question finally came through. "I'll answer you by telling you a story. It's important, so pay attention." She paused, getting more comfortable, because she knew this would be a long story. "A long time ago, there used to be two royal families. One who resided in the capital, Erebus, the other in a place called Sol, a city that was in the desert of Boin." Noire blinked. "Boin? I never heard of any city being there." The captain nodded. "Some believe the city sunk beneath the sands, but nobody has been able to find it. However, historical records have stated that it did indeed exist." She inhaled, closing her eyes for a moment. "Eighty years ago, the queen of Erebus, while pregnant, had a vision that spoke of an epic battle that would shake the earth, and whoever won would decide the fate of the world." The girl's eyes narrowed as she listened. "A battle of epic proportions..." "Twenty-five years later," Rubi went on, "her own daughter married the Prince of Sol to finally merge both kingdoms into one. They too produced heirs--twin daughters. The differences between them was their eyes and hair. While one daughter inherited the traits of the Erebus royal family, the other inherited Sol's. Nya and Claire were their names. You would know them as, if they taught you anything at all about them in that place, Drakonya and Sinclaire." "What's with the names?" she asked. "It was names they inherited as a sign of their power," she explained. "The dragon is a symbol of not only strength, but wisdom and a respect for balance. Nya was known to have these characteristics. Claire on the other hand...well, she had little regard for anything with exception for herself. Her personality was what gave her the name, Sin. Because Nya carried the humility a queen should have, she was deemed the heir that would inherit the throne and the responsibility that went with it." Noire scoffed. "Let me guess, Claire got jealous and declared war on her sister." "Too right," Rubi affirmed. "As their grandmother predicted, an epic battle did take place. You see, the two of them were sword masters. For all their lives, they were trained to be able to defend themselves and the countries they governed. There's even a rumour from the older folks that the battle was so great, that it was possible that the two of them had inhuman powers." Rubi closed her eyes. "That was thirty years ago, and nobody knows exactly how it went down, but people assume Sinclaire had won since Drakonya is no longer alive. But," she said suddenly, "Sinclaire's forces constantly push against the borders of Erebus, and so far they've yet to actually take it over. Some say those who are still loyal to Drakonya are fighting with everything they have to keep Sin out." Noire looked at Shae. "How strange..." "What?" She looked back at Rubi. "Doesn't it seem odd that even to this day, she's still trying to get in. What's really keeping her out? And why would she waste her energy trying to get in? What is she really after?" |

Avalynn just smiled at him innocently as he inspected his new abode and deposited his pack. When he asked for a tour she grinned wickedly, "But of course," she chimed and spun on her heel to lead him around, as she swaggered her small shorts clung to her round backside, she could almost feel him looking, which made her grin wider. She led him down the hall to an open area, it had a large glass window, looking out at the sky around them. It also had a bar on the opposite side of the room, a comm station, equipped with radios and controls. In the middlenof the room, two couches, a dark marbled leather, everything was luxurious here. "This," the firery haired woman stated, "is the officer's lounge." Suddenly a thought occurred to her, "my... I have been terribly rude," she turned back to face him and held out a hand, "my name is Avalynn de Morjae," she smiled sweetly, "a pleasure to meet you," === Leon looked at Aidan curiously, he was spooked by Noire? Hm... he scratched his stubble in thought. "Yeah I met her in the engine room... frankly I don't blame her for the distrust... the people who were meant to care for her, got rid of her..." he took a long drink. "I'd be hostile too... but... her powers are very interesting... what with the..." he trailed off but waved his hand in a claw-like motion to indicate Noire's claws. "I like that she doesn't let anyone tell her what to do.. " he shrugged. He didn't want to ramble, so turned it back to Aiden; "what about Shaede? Any opinion on her?" === Shaede was curious about the story Rubi was telling... apart from the loyalty chant the scientists had them learn and repeat, they knew little about their Queen. Noire had a point as well... if she were an all powerful queen, she could waltz into Erebus and take whatever she wanted... but something stopped her... "What if it has to do with Diablo?" Shaede asked Noire softly, "the White Coats were insistent on having us ready for it... hell, the whole facility was run on the principal... what if she needs Ravenholm to get in? Some key with us mutants..." she looked at Rubi, "you did say the queens family had powers right?" She shrugged, "just a theory..." |

Garrick gave a very subtle smile, taking her hand and placing a chaste kiss on her knuckles. "I'd introduce myself, but that would only serve to be redundant, since you already know who I am." Yes, he did find her attractive, but found it all too obvious what she was doing and why she was doing it. If he read her body language correctly, she was already seducing him. Well, two can play at that game. Garrick has had his fair share of women. He would guess that it had something to do with his romantic sounding accent, and his body. Most of the women he bedded were shallow enough to look past his less than appealing personality. He also thought they were stupid. Now Ava on the other hand looked like a smart woman, so that, and her delicious backside, was enough to intrigue him. "So, how should we start our game? And what are the stakes?" === Aidan nearly choked on his next swig, making a couple of short coughs as he set down his drink. What did her think of her? Well, there was many things he could say, but thought maybe his honest opinion would be completely unwanted. After all, Shaede's brother was sitting right there. Who knew what kind of reaction he would have. If Aidan were in his place, he'd be pretty protective to the point he'd deny anyone to come near here. However, he was sitting on the opposite side of the equation. Shaede was definitely an attractive woman, and very charming. It was obvious to him last night that they were both drinking each other in. Ah hell, Leon was going to find out eventually anyway. "Shaede is very..." he trailed off, trying to find the right word to describe her, "...intriguing. From what I can tell, intelligent and...er, attractive." He flushed, vehemently blaming the alcohol. === Rubi watched the pair with a serious expression. "Whatever it is, it can't be good for anyone. Which is why she needs to be taken down as soon as possible. Her and her son. From the rumours, she hasn't weakened at all with age, and Lao is just as powerful, as anybody who challenges them has a tendency to be killed because of it." |

"Well you're a charmer, aren't you?" She smirked as he kissed her hand. This gentleman was interesting to be sure, she was curious to discover what made him tick. She stepped over to the bar and pulled out a bottle and two small glasses. Sliding onto one of the couches she smiled so innocently as she poured him a drink. "Hmm... as for the stakes..." she made a thoughtful but exaggerated face, "perhaps the winner must choose something for to loser to do?" She batted her eyelashes at him sweetly. It was obvious she was playing already. === Leon raised an eyebrow at Aiden's response. He seemed to stumble over his words, was it implying what he thought? Leon for the moment chose to ignore it, but made a mental note to keep an eye on the Pilot. "I suppose she is," he mused, "she looks like our late mother... she wouldn't have allowed Shae to be taken had she been alive..." he muttered but shook his head immediately, trying to remain positive. "She has always been far too clever for her own good though... she could outsmart most people when she was 6..." he chuckled, "I can only imagine she got cleverer..." === Shaede frowned, "If they are responsible for Ravenholm... they will burn with it.." she muttered darkly. She attempted to relax, but it was difficult to block the images in her mind... she became restless... It seemed an age before their time was up, by the end Shaede felt water-logged but somewhat calmer. She even found herself excited about getting some new weapons and clothes. To never wear a grey jumpsuit again made her feel much better. "Where's our first stop?" She mused as they left the spa. |

Garrick smirked, raising a brow as his interest was piqued. "I'll take that bet. So, is it til one of us pukes, or until we pass out?" he asked, picking up his glass. === Aidan could only nod. He sighed, dropping his head on the counter. He still had yet to sleep, and there was much work to be done on the ship. Without him, the crew was bloody slow when it came to maintenance. Soon he'd have to go back. Then there was the briefing later that would detail how the heist would go down tomorrow evening. Oh hell, if Rubi was taking the girls shopping, no doubt she'd give them elaborate parts in tomorrow's scheme, and that meant--he gulped--dresses. No doubt, Aidan could appreciate a beautiful woman dressed in formal clothing, but sometimes he wished that the captain could be a little more serious and less fancy about it. It was always about style with her. Heh, even she can have her feminine moments. Still, if that was what Rubi intended, he was already looking forward to seeing Shaede in such garments. Still, everyone part of the heist had to dress up. Even he had to wear a suit...and he hated suits. "I'm almost not looking forward to tomorrow," he said, already feeling itchy thinking about that suit. === Rubi pondered a little over their options. "Weapon Shop first, and then I've got to stop by at the women's clothing boutique." Noire went on full alert. "Clothing boutique?" Rubi nodded. "Yep. You see, part of the ruse of sneaking into the party is to look like you've been invited. In fact, you two should also get a dress each." She smiled innocently, but Noire just stared at her. |

"Hmmm..." Avalynn muttered.. "which ever comes first, or if one gives up... " she tapped one of her fingertips against her peach pink lips. She raised her glass and smiled, "to... new friends?" She winked cheekily at him. She downed her drink and was about to speak when the door opened. One of the crew entered and looked surprised, one of the engineers... followed by another two. "You have a bar?!" The first asked shocked, "no fair!" "Can I help you, gentlemen?" Avalynn queried, her brow furrowing. "Aye you can pour me a drink!" He headed over and reached for a bottle. Suddenly he screamed, clutching his hand, blood seeped from a puncture wound from a small blade the size of a finger. "I think you'll find that the Officer's lounge... is for officers, and as a Leitenant... I order you... to fuck off, before I put one of those in your eye." She stated and poured another glass. The man practically ran from the room. "Sorry, Garrick, darling." She smiled innocently, as sweet as she could be... people would often forget she was dangerous "sometimes the stupid need a reminder of manners," she topped his glass. "But, tell me about yourself. I am dying to know..." === Leon looked up with an arched brow, the look of disdain made him smirk, "Yeah but you always pick the woolen undershirts... if you weren't so cheap and went silk, as I did, it's damn comfy... the ladies seem to appreciate it." He chuckled lightly. "Still... will be interesting to see what the Captain dresses them as..." That would be a helluva sight to see... === Shaede couldn't help but smirk at her 'sister' Noire wasn't keen on getting dressed up. Whenever an inspection happened at the Facility ans they were forced to get into their best, Noire always fought it. "Hmm... i expected as much..." Shaede mused, "formal, I assume?" She had been trained in espionage, pretending to be another was something she was good at... |

Garrick had just put the glass to his lips when they were interrupted by the intrusion of three engineers. He was impassive as one them made the presumption that he could barge in and order their superior around. He wasn't the least bit fazed when the worker suddenly had their hand stabbed through, screaming in agony. As she blew him off, Garrick smirked slightly to himself, downing the drink with ease. As she asked him about himself, his face sobered immediately even as his glass was filled again. He didn't like to talk much about himself. "Ladies first," he suggested, leaning back on the couch. === Aidan arched a brow at the healer. "The ladies, huh?" He scoffed with small amusement. "I can't really say anything, since I'm the womanizer, but you never fail to surprise me." He eyed him. "I always thought doctors were square-folk, but here you are, drinking, smoking, and talking about impressing women. But, I digress. I doubt you'd ever be able to 'charm' Miss Grumpy." === "Yep," the captain replied. "Bare shoulders, long fancy skirts, updos, the whole shebang." Noire frowned a little. "I don't wanna," she declared childishly, even adopting a childish scowl. Rubi laughed at her expression. It was the cutest thing ever. "Aren't you adorable?" She sighed, calming down a little. "If it makes you feel any better, everyone is dressing up. Even the boys. Ha! McKay will be scratching all night. I keep telling him to buy a nicer outfit but he just blows me off about it." She chuckled. |

Avalynn raised a curious eyebrow at his misdirection, but smiled all the same, sipping from her glass. "Well... where to begin?" She mused, she leant forward, hands on her knees, giving him an eyeful, "The Morjaes are a very wealthy family... they have a lot of influence... I have three sisters... Vaelie, Sonjya and Taliya." She mused, "mother wanted us all to marry wealthy men and have a multitude of babies... but I have no such inclination, I like to... keep my options open. That and I am too good with a blade to be some miserable housewife..." she grinned at him, "and you?" === Leon snorted, "just because I am a doctor doesn't mean crap..." he shrugged, "and besides, there's no reason I can't give the ladies something to look at... any thing beyond that..." he shrugged nonchalantly, implying he didn't care if he didn't pick up. "You however... different woman every month, eh?" He chuckled. "What was the last one? Blonde girl.... Rosette?" The doctor shook his head with a smile. === Shaede allowed herself to laugh slightly, Noire was always adorable with that little pout. And... the pilot in a suit? Well... she would be lying if she said she wasn't interested to see that! Though... the bare shoulders was a bit worrying. "If we must, then I have to have sleeves," she said quickly, glancing away awkwardly. She didn't want to admit the shadow markings were spreading. They arrived at the weapons parlour and Shaede eagerly stepped in to get her hands on some sexy new guns.... she hadn't had one in a while, and bullet holes were more common than missing hearts... |

Garrick stared at his glass, downing the contents and setting it down. "I was raised on Mecha in the middle-district, raised by my mother and step-father. To say the least, I lived comfortably. My favourite colour is green and I have a small hobby with motorcycles." He saw her look of puzzlement when he mentioned his middle-class life, smiling to himself. "You're wondering why I live in a...less than luxurious edifice. It's simple, really. Something came to light and I wasn't pleased. I can live without certain luxuries." And that was all he was going to say on the matter. === Aidan just smiled. It was actually almost every city they visited. "Nah, I had a couple lady friends in Parren just before I met those two girls." He shrugged, his expression falling a little. Putting down money, he got up. "I'm heading back to the ship. I've got a lot of work to do." Without another word, he left, pinching between his tightly shut eyes. === Noire took immediate alert of Shaede's change in tone, but said nothing. Rubi didn't seem to notice, shrugging on their way to the weapons shop. Upon entry, the redhead went straight up to the counter, putting twin revolvers on the counter, while chatting with him. Noire watched them curiously but looked at Shaede in silence. Later, she decided. When they were completely alone, she'd ask her friend what had her on edge. Hell, Noire was the one that was usually more on edge than Shaede. She looked through the selection, but didn't find much interest in anything. She already had all she needed. Her claws and her brass knuckles that was sitting in one of her pockets. |

The flame-haired woman smirked and poured him another, she did give a surprised glance at the mention of being middle-class, she certainly wouldn't have picked that. Though when he spoke of his reasons vaguely, she just smiled and held up a hand, "Say no more, I understand." She nodded, "I too turned away a life of luxury for a more simplistic life. Though the palace is open to me, I prefer to travel." She tilted her head to the side, "though, you like bikes? Have you got any? I do so love a ride... there's nothing like the feel of something wild between your legs." She winked. === Leon nodded to Aiden as he stood, "See you back there then," he muttered, lingering to finish the drink he had. He would return to the ship, but not just yet. === Shaede was very happy with the selection of weaponry... she managed to floor the man behind the counter with her knowledge on them, and got Rubi a good discount. She had seen through the mark ups and even a few shoddy items... her silver stare managed to make the manager give them Everything at half price! She stepped out of the shop with a smug grin, "Well Captain... I don't mean to brag... but damn, I am good. I don't think your Pilot can complain about the budget now..." she smirked. It did put her in a good mood, though the dresses reminded her of how careful she had to be with her markings. |

Well then, he thought. The redhead wasn't pulling her punches. She might as well have been wearing a sign that said Take Me. "I have a couple that I stored in Mecha." Once his drink was refilled, he downed it easily. "Mother always disapproved of me riding them though." He chuckled. "Ah well. Not that she could really do anything about it." He took the bottle instead, taking a direct swig casually. "What's Mr. Personality's story?" he asked, referring to Mael. === As the trio stepped into the boutique, their eyes was assaulted by the sight of a thousand colours and racks of dresses and accessories. Noire instantly felt horrified while Rubi adopted a look of sheer glee. You wouldn't think she was the least bit girly just looking at her, Noire mused. They were greeted by one of the employees and Rubi instantly felt energized to shop. Even Shaede looked a little enthusiastic, much to Noire's surprise. Sighing, she went to find the nearest seat and sank onto it, cradling her chin in her cupped hands. Noticing this, Rubi approached her. "Oi, you've got to pick something for the party." "I don't wanna," Noire grumbled. There was a pause as Rubi considered this. "If you don't pick something to wear, I'll pick for you." "I'd rather wear a paper bag," came another grumble. "Nah, that's much to frail for you. Although, delicate might actually help tone down your scowling face." Noire's brow twitched. "Maybe something...ah...to match your eyes, I think." Rubi grinned, and for once, Noire was terrified. |

Avalynn threw up her hands in resignation, "Who even knows?" She sighed exasperated, "honestly I think he may be an automaton... he doesn't do anything, he barely talks, unless it's to bark orders or tell me to go away," she rolled her eyes, and finished her drink. "But he is incredibly good at what he does. He is a very efficient soldier." She shrugged. "Probably doesn't know what that thing between his legs is for..." === Shaede could nor help but stare in disbelief at the sight of all the items they had in the boutique. It was ridiculously elaborate, there were dresses of every colour and length, frills, plain, embroidered, ruffles, bustles and even fine chains. There were corsets, cinchers, belts, hair pins, hats, feathers, gems, rings, necklaces. Boots with spats and high heel slip on shoes. "This is ludicrous..." she muttered. She spotted a paler-than-usual Noire sitting in a chair and headed over, "are you alright?" She asked softly, "hellfire there are too many people in here," she groaned after a particularly loud giggle came from one of the other ladies. "I look forward to showing off my skills of disguise and deception... bit this is just..." she sighed, then looked at her friend, "did you wish me to assist in picking something out, Eri?" |

"Every man knows, it's a matter of what can stir it. He may not even be into women, and is just hiding it very well," he said, just throwing it out there. He took another swig before handing her the bottle. "Then again...why else would he protect you an hour ago? Though I haven't known him longer than that, it seems to me that deep down he does care...even a little." As she watched him, he smiled. "It can't be because the queen is fond of you." When she returned the bottle, he downed the rest of the contents, tossing it aside when empty, glass shattering across the floor. "Sometimes if you want something, you have to take it." === Rubi patted Noire on the back. "C'mon, let's get fitted. Best to get it done and over with, since you're obviously not too comfortable. It'll take at least half an hour." Noire groaned but stood up. "Fine." Once they were all fitted, Noire squirming a little from being touched, they were presented with a variety of dresses in their size. Rubi grinned and practically buried herself in her pile, separating it into two. Things she liked, and things she didn't. Once she was done, she ran off to go try them on. Noire sighed, moving as slow as molasses in January as she went through her own pile. Rubi came out in her regular clothes, a single dress on her arm. Seeing that Noire was puttering about, she walked over. "Need a hand?" "I can do it!" she declared, puffing up her face childishly. Smiling, Rubi ignored her declaration, going through the pile. Bloody hell, there were lots of black dresses. She guessed it had something to do with the merchants sensing Noire's mood. Throwing those away, something caught her eye and she grinned, pulling that out. "Go try this on," she demanded. Noire's blue eyes widened at it, then she scowled in defiance. "No." Not bothering to argue about it, Rubi smiled as she dragged her cousin off to the change rooms. "Oh c'mon, I'll even help you put it on." "No, no, no! I don't waaannaaa!!" Noire whined desperately. "I'd rather be kicked in the balls!" "You don't have any balls to be kicked, so just put up with it," Rubi replied calmly. |
