Avalynn smiled as the bolt hit its mark... but it dropped the second the dark girl turned around. She focused and steeled herself, raising the crossbow again. She was fast, but the only way she could jeep her head would be to wound the girl enough. She fired two more shots, keeping herself moving to draw her away from the clamps. Shaede shivered, his voice in her ear was a thrill. She leant back, resting her head upon his shoulder and looking up to his face, a soft slender pale hand caressed his cheek. "Oh you sweet thing..." she spoke gently, "I'd have to be human first," she spun on the spot, slashing at him once more. Another attack was caught by his blade. "Ooh... so long since I've had a challenge..." her silver eyes flicked over his form, gaze so hot he may have felt it. "I think I may start to like you, darling." |

Noire knew what Avalynn was up to, and instead of dodging out of the way, she caught both arrows with a quick swipe of her claws. Slowly and deliberately, she squeezed, the bolts bending under the pressure. Grabbing them with both hands, she then snapped them in half with no effort at all. As her anger took hold, the blackened skin began to spread now looking like long sleeved gloves. Growling, she leaped off the joint near the top and snatched the underside of it, yelling out as she slowly lifted it like a hook out of its latch. With another yell, she practically threw it off, panting from the effort. She barely winced, her shoulder wound paining her. Three more, she thought. She wasn't certain that she'd be able to get them off in a timely manner unless she ignored her pursuer. That would have been a deathly mistake on her part. Regardless of how weak an enemy seemed, it was lethal to turn your back on them. She would know, having killed many despite how feeble she was, desperate to escape that hell. She noticed the redhead's smug look. Damn, she noticed her handicap. "If you don't wish to die, I suggest you flee now. Let me warn you that the facility had the two of us take on 50 inhumans...each, just to measure our limits. Our passing score was one-hundred percent. And this is before our initiation into their program, and all the training that came with it." Her fiery blue eyes kept on Ava. "What could you have accomplished that could surpass that feat? You're nothing but a tool for the royal family." Mael winced again as he was caught by her quick swipe, blocking off the next attack with his blade. He kept his eyes on Shaede, even as one of the lock joints were thrown aside. Damn, what the hell was Avalynn doing? Would he have to resort to drastic measures? His orders were to bring them back alive, but if possible, not harm them. He had no choice then. They weren't willing to come peacefully, and he had a mission to fulfill. Shaede would see the look of restraint leave his eyes, his shoulders relaxing and his sword holding steady against her blade. There was a deafening silence between them, and in a blink, he was gone, striking her from behind in the back with the hilt end of his sword to stun her. And he was in the front again, punching her in the stomach hard enough to have her bend over. It was true that as he was before, he would have trouble detaining the both of them, but that was before he removed all restraints. He had to go at them like he intended to kill them if he was to defeat them at all. He held her there as she recovered, staring blankly ahead. "You left me no choice. In the end, you're going to hurt a great deal." The coldness was evident in his tone, almost as if he was dead already. With strangely inhuman ease, he tossed her into the air, spinning around with his leg to send her flying about ten feet. Slowly, he walked towards her fallen form, blinking when she disappeared in a cloud of darkness that thickened around them. Even now she had the strength to maintain such obscurity? Eyes narrowing, he inhaled, then exhaled, closing those eyes. His stance remained still as he listened, shutting out any other noises. |

Avalynn frowned, death threats weren't abnormal to her ears, she'd heard a lot of them... and by people who could carry them out too.. so while she was wary of this... creature... she knew she had a duty to fulfill... She shot two more bolts at her and stood defiantly. "Pah! shows what you know, I practically AM the royal family!" She retorted, keeping her distance from the girl. She drew a small bomb from the pouch on her belt, and tossed it at the darkling's feet, it exploded in a harsh blast as Avalynn ran off toward a second Locking joint, she threw a fireball bomb this time, hot enough to cause some fusion to make unlocking it all the more difficult. Shaede saw his eyes change, bringing a grin back to her lips, he relaxed and she felt her fingers tingle with glee... oh it had been so long since she'd had to fight with all her powers... the soldiers and subjects and tests had bored her for what felt like an age in Ravenholm... He was quick, quicker than any human she'd seen... it sparked her interest, was he... like her in some way? He struck her once, twice, then spoke to her. Throwing her away from him she rolled, lying still until he was close enough, disappearing in a cloud of shadows. She surrounded him in darkness, the black smoke beginning to invade more of the square. She laughed, her voice echoing everywhere around him. "Hurt? Oh sweetheart you are joking yourself if you think you can hurt me... nothing can hurt me after that place..." her voice came from everywhere, never one spot "but I am glad you are not playing anymore... I shall enjoy this..." Suddenly she appeared before him, a pale slender hand grabbed his throat and squeezed. She floated there for only a moment; her eyes bright, hair wild, twisted grin on her full lips. "Hit me with your best shot," she hissed, with that she yanked him forward, avoiding the sword he swung at her, spinning in the air to kick him in the face. With a blink she vanished again, next appearing behind him to his left, she charged, now holding two curved black daggers, she slashed with one and blocked his incoming blade with the other. They danced, attacking, parrying, each strike meeting the others blade, it seemed they were matched, at least for now. Shaede laughed as he blocked yet another of her attacks. "Oh you do know how to impress a girl," she chuckled. There was a commotion to their right, Shae swore she heard the sound of sparks and lightning... |

Noire was sent flying by the first blast, rolling along the blimp and she just lied there motionless, loose hair covering her face. That...kind of hurt. Slowly, she first rose to her knees, eventually reaching her feet, standing hunched over as her hair curtained around her. There was the sound of chuckling as the hardened black skin spread further, now over her shoulders. "What confidence you have. Royal or not, in the end," she rose her gaze that promised a gory violent end, "you're still human, and like every other human before you, I'll break you!" Like a bullet, she shot towards Avalynn at an inhuman speed, a crazy look in her eyes. The redhead didn't even have time to keep her distance as Noire got up close and personal, grabbing the crossbow and crushing it, making it useless. "I hope your cheap toys aren't the only things in your arsenal." Mael met her head on, cold indifference on his face, pushing against one of her blades with his sword. Like her, he heard the telltale sign of a storming battle coming their way. He sincerely hoped Garrick wasn't playing around. If McKay reached the port, he could potentially remove the locking joints with relative ease thanks to his power. If it came to it, they would have to engage in airborne combat. He had to end this, and soon. "Enough," he said, his dark eyes becoming more fearsome, flashing purple for a split second as he began to overwhelm Shaede with brute strength, the flooring denting under the weight of their struggle. He knocked away one of her blades, only to get stabbed in the abdomen. They stood still for a full minute, and he reached up to grip her hand over the handle, holding her there with unreal strength. Under the thick curtain of his hair, he smirked, thrusting his sword forward, only to dissipate from his grip to escape. Standing straight, he spun around to catch her throat, squeezing tightly, bringing her close to his face to show that he was not one to screw around with. In that instance, the entire roof collapsed with an explosion, thunderbolts of green and blue firing down in endless supply. The falling debris forced Mael to relinquish Shaede as he avoided the descending metal. Noire was forced to do the same, jumping away and hanging off the wall, amazed by the endless storm of bolts. Everyone saw two bolts in particular, bouncing off each other in a violent clash. When they finally ceased, the shower of electricity stopped, and two near identical men stood on top of the debris, glaring each other down, clothes torn, eyes blazing brightly. Due to the amount of electricity in the air, their hair looked more wild than usual, and if you touched anything, you would be shocked painfully. Garrick grinned, "Well, I underestimated you, I admit. But you're still not going to walk away from this alive." Aidan's eyes narrowed. "You'd be surprised by what I'm capable of, Little Brother..." "OI!" Noire called out. "You nearly hit me, you asshole!" He barely glanced over. "Why are you guys still here?!" Noire pointed to the locking joints. "I see. Give me a minute..." Annoyed that Aidan was ignoring him, Garrick charged forward in a flash, but Aidan spun around with a high kick, sending his sibling flying away. No time to waste, he thought, flashing towards the joints. "Christ, you could have done this much without me." Standing atop the airship, he planted his feet, slapping is hands on the ground, sending electric pulses through the metal, they travelled to the joints as two other began to be slowly removed, the ship jerked again as the fused joint remained locked on. He cursed, but Noire already jumped down, running towards that lock to try and peel it off with her claws. Even Aidan couldn't manipulate metal. Most he could do was magnetize it. As Noire went to work on that joint, he turned his attention back to Garrick, who stalked towards him with purpose, fuming. Mael's eyes narrowed. He mentally cursed. They were running out of time, but his concern was the whereabouts of Shaede. She disappeared the second he released her. He ignored the blade still embedded in his abdominals. No doubt she'd make an attempt to retrieve it, if simply to damage him further, but when she did, that would be when he would strike her down. |

Avalynn gasped, seeing the girl suddenly inches from her, the crossbow was ripped from her grasp and she stumbled back, her hand reaching her pocket, she threw a smoke bomb, darting back trying to escape, she knew she would be no match for the freak in close quarters, she tried desperately to distance herself from the crazed darkling. She had to keep her distance, she didn’t want to die today… Shaede slashed at her quarry in a flurry of shadows and blurred movements, she never let up on him, but oh he was delightful, meeting her head on, no emotion, while she grinned manically, she would not stop until one of them could go on no longer. He grabbed her throat and she simply smiled wider, something about his touch was rather thrilling. Suddenly there was a huge collapse by them, a force of power rippled through the whole area, part of the building behind them simply seemed to shatter, falling bricks and crumbling walls passed right through her as she flashed into shadow, the rubble passing right through her. There were sparks by the ship, but it did not matter, she had her prey, and it was all that concerned her. Suddenly something seemed to snap, as though a lock were broken, the entire courtyard was plunged into darkness, her laughter echoed around the place as she materialised above them, her form changed, her once short hair was impossibly long, swirling around her, horns twisted out from her head, as she grinned her teeth were like fangs, and her hands and feet looked similar to the twisted blackened claws Noire sported, though Shaede’s were smoky and shifted as she moved, her dress was gone and she seemed to be clothed in darkness itself, spiralling patterns of inky black lines spiralled out from her back, down her srms and legs, over she shoulders and torso, looking like swirled tattoos. She laughed and with greater strength and speed than a moment ago, she dropped to Mael, the ground becoming a crater where she landed, the whole of the floating city shuddered slightly with the force of the impact, she was certainly not human anymore, her whole form looked as though she were made of smoke, disappearing ad reappearing in the crushing darkness around them, all through the shadows whispers could be heard, a deathly voice, hissing at them all, she send a wave of black fire toward him, her form over moving, floating, not touching the ground, shifting back and forth as she attempted to burn Mael. |

Noire reached the other joint, tearing at the welded metal. Grinning over her handiwork, she was suddenly overcome with an uneasy feeling. She was completely ignoring the whereabouts of her opponent now. Avalynn wasn't her main concern anymore. She looked over at the fog of darkness blanketing the entire ground like a black cloud. She had a bad feeling about this. "Shaede..." She ran off, diving into the blackness. Mael impacted with the ground hard, the metal beneath him denting deeply as he coughed out blood. He winced, barely conscious from that attack, but knew she would attack again soon. There was a pitch black gust coming towards him. No, it wasn't normal...it was the shape of rushing flames. Eyes widening, he forced himself to move, struggling to his feet before leaping away. What was this sensation he felt? A bead of sweat rolled down his face. He ignored the whispers, the threats. Something was completely different about her movements now. Calming down, he smiled. "I see. So, these are the effects of a successful Diablo subject." He heard movement, but he didn't have time to react as well as he should have as his face was met by a force comparable to the accumulated strength of ten speeding trains, sending him flying into a large engine, tipping it over with ease, continuing on until he crashed through the iron and stone wall of the port. Noire panted in the spot where she had struck him, eyes flashing in the darkness. Standing straight, she looked around. "Shaede!" Something was off, and she was the only one who could potentially stop Shae at this point. "Shaede, come out! We have to go! I'm not wasting my energy on these weaklings anymore, and neither should you! Frankly, I'm a little worn out from playing the part of a delicate flower for part of the evening!" She sighed. "Shaede, please snap out of it. I don't...want my promise to come to pass." |

Shaede heard nothing, nothing but the blood running through her veins and the satisfying sounds of her opponent's body being hit and thrown... the thrill of the chase. He was slowing, struggling and straining, her brow furrowed, anger bubbling in her chest. "Don't tell me that's all you've got?! I thought you were meant to be powerful?! Fight back! Hit me!" She goaded him, attacking again with speed and strength no longer shackled, she held nothing back... throwing him again, he fell, and did not move. She growled, "get up you wretch!" She cried... but he did not comply, a cry of frustration, her energy blazed... and he was done. A spark to her right caught her attention, blazing lights and sparks made the grin return to her face, perhaps she had someone else to play with... Suddenly their battle field grew black, a fog of shadow surrounding them. With a leap, she found herself up on the roof, a wicked grin on her lips, she could not hear her sister calling for her... she stood before the two warriors, shadows swirling around her looking like an angel of death. "Well now... perhaps you'd be better at showing a girl a good time?" |

Rubi watched the fight from the bridge. "How's it looking?" "The locks are gone. We can fly out any time. If this keeps up, even Mecha's military is going to be on us!" The Captain's eyes narrowed. She knew the girls were strong, and now she was seeing it for herself. But something wasn't sitting right with her. The MacKillan girl was different. Rubi had only seen a glance of her darker personality when she took the life of LaFayette. Who would have thought that she was in less control of herself than Noire was? Despite her cousin having a short fuse, she was still thinking. Gritting her teeth, she quickly marched out of the room, breaking into a run. Noire would undoubtedly end up fighting Shae if she continued on her warpath. Meanwhile, Aidan and Garrick battled ruthlessly, extending electric whips from their arms, clashing, and wrapping around one another, turning into a tug-o-war. As Aidan pulled on his end, the younger brother grinned, leaping forward, electrifying his fist. The pilot jumped away, dissolving his end of the lightning rope before Garrick's punch impacted with where Aidan originally stood. A literal shockwave expanded outwards, destroying even more of the port. Aidan landed, looking around at the destruction, astounded before immediately becoming digusted. "Garrick, how many lives are you willing to sacrifice just to kill me?!" Garrick remained crouched in that spot, grinning behind his bangs. "Why are you suddenly so concerned with the wellbeing of humans? Not all of this mess is just mine, y'know. Besides," he began, standing up, "had you been caught as the starving brat you were, these humans would have given you over to Ravenholm without a second thought." Aidan's expression saddened by Garrick's claim. "Perhaps that is true for our father, but you misunderstand something Garrick. Even we are humans. We just happened to have powers." Anger distorted Garrick's face. "Human?! You! You son of a bitch! You have the gall to call yourself, me, and our father HUMAN?! People like us! We're gods! Those people at Ravenholm take apart and put together our kind so they can become gods themselves!" Surprise came to Aidan. "What? Our father? Garrick...you didn't know?" "Know what?!" Garrick spat out. "Gabe McKay didn't have powers like us. He was an ordinary, albiet greedy and cruel man. The only thing abnormal about him was his ungodly lust for money! He would cheat, steal, and murder anyone for a piece of copper! Had he known about you, he would have done to you what he tried to do to me! He tried to sell his own son to Ravenholm! What kind of father does that?!" "LIAR! I'll fucking kill you!" With that, his whole body charged, the electric current in his body crackling faster by the second. Aidan prepared to charge towards him, that is until his vision was suddenly clouded by darkness. Surprised, he looked around. Shaede? What the hell was she doing? He heard Noire's calls towards her friend, and instantly he felt dread. Something was very wrong. Garrick was just as surprised, but he didn't cease his charging, eyeing the area until he looked up, seeing the darkling diving towards him with an unnatural look on her face. Smirking, electricity blasted upwards like a beam, blowing away the darkness with the intense light, like it was nothing more than regular smoke. "DIE LIKE THE PITIFUL WHORE YOU ARE!!!" Before either power could land a blow, Aidan knocked Shaede out of the way with a flash, and took on the blast, yelling out in pain and in determination. As his body was wracked with foreign electricity, he did the only thing he could do before he would be overloaded and possibly end this fight. His scream was as deafening as the roar of thunder as he became a human lightning rod, and redirected Garrick's power right back at him, enveloping the entire area with blinding light. There was absolute silence for a single second, but felt like an eternity. Then came the explosion. The entire port began to collapse in pieces, falling from the edge of the city. Even the airships, some barely intact, began to fall, with no crews to operate them, with the exception of The Alice. Its crew seemingly floating in the air, including the Captain who had grabbed hold of the railing on the corridor wall. The Alice was falling. "D-Damn! GET HER FLYING OR WE ALL DIE!" she demanded into her comm. The pilot in the bridge was barely holding onto the wheel, crying out from the power of gravity. Gradually, he pulled himself closer to the console, barely touching the lever. With one last attempt, he yanked himself closer and snatched the handle and flipped it down. The engine shook, hummed, then roared, fire ejecting from the lower jets, allowing the ship to level and for most of the crew to put their feet on the ground. Everyone panted, but Rubi didn't have time to breathe. She rushed back to the bridge. "Good job! Now get out of my way!" she demanded, pushing aside the pilot. She spun the wheel hard, a cold steel-like determination in her eyes as she turned the ship around. If the ship and port fell, then surely... Her slightly panicked eyes searched the sky. Those eyes widening, she and the crew on the bridge saw the falling cloud of debris. Where was she?! Where was Noire?! She'd be damned if she lost her cousin again. Peering through the metal and exploding ships, she spotted something bouncing off the debris. Relief overtook the Captain. She was alive. "Noire..." Everybody jumped when she started shrieking like an old lady. "WHAT THE HELL IS SHE THINKING?! MAKING ME WORRY!" Meanwhile, Noire was riding some of the debris like air surf boards, her hair whipping upwards as her eyes searched. She spotted Shaede, who looked to be unconscious. "SHAEDE!" No good, she realized. The rush of air was too loud even to her. Growling, she leapt off towards her friend. Keeping her arms close to her body, she dove at a higher speed, only slowing down before tackling Shaede. She tried shaking her awake, even slapping her. But nothing seemed to work. Noire was on the verge of tears. Why wouldn't she wake up?! She couldn't check for a pulse at this speed. Something caught her eye as the darkling looked to the left to see the pilot also falling, his loose and long hair as well as his tattered clothing, whipping around him. "That idiot," she muttered, dragging Shaede with her to get closer to Aidan. Why was she doing this? All that mattered to her was Shaede. Why would she go to great lengths to save the moron who put them in this situation in the first place? Thinking back, even Noire could see that Shaede wasn't thinking straight. Aidan must have sensed that, getting her out of the way of the blast. Why would he do that? Noire suspected he might have had a romantic interest in Shaede. But that was no reason to save someone. They still hardly knew each other. Still, he saved her, and Noire would return the favour for saving her friend. She tackled him carelessly, doing the same smacking procedure on his face, but to no avail. Despite her efforts though, how the hell was she supposed to save them from imminent death? She looked down to see the approaching ocean surface. Even thousands of feet in the air, she could see the raging waters. Even if by some miracle the impact didn't kill them all, they'd all be swept away and likely drown, killed by mother nature herself. "NOIRE!!!" The young woman looked over to only be astonished by a nose-diving Alice matching her falling speed. Rubi stood in the opening of the back of the ship. "GET IN!" Grinning at her cousin, with one person in each arm, Noire spun like a screw, throwing in Shaede first, Rubi catching the girl and dragging her in. Now that Shaede was safe, it was McKay's turn. As she went to repeat the maneuver, she cried out as something hit her, knocking her a good distance away from the ship and against some falling debris. Rubi was knocked back as well with Aidan thrown against her. Looking up, she saw a furious man, emitting dangerous green sparks. Due to the force, the pilot up front was forced to level, causing Rubi to panic. "No! Noire's not in yet!" "I'm sorry Captain, but if we attempt to go after her again, we'll crash into the water!" Garrick overheard everything, grinning menacingly from ear to ear. "Looks like your bitch cousin is done for." Rubi was shaking. It was just like before when Noire was taken away. He tsked, "What's the matter? Gonna cry?" She screamed, throwing Aidan off her as she charged at Garrick with a sword drawn, swinging at him with raging precision, that she nearly caught him a few times. She knew she had no chance, being up against his unreal speed, but she'd be damned if she let him go unpunished. He laughed at her, her loss, and her weakness to save the one person she dedicated her life to saving. She cried in anguish, vowing to kill him. She promised Noire she would save her and protect her. To have her taken away so quickly after finally reuniting, it was unbearable. Garrick grinned, catching Rubi's throat and slamming her against the wall, pinning her there. She reached into her coat before she pressed a pistol's barrel under his jaw. Her eyes were manic, but they quickly flicked over to see a figure dash by and dive out of the ship. Garrick barely noticed, more focused on Rubi's pistol. Her face sobered, lips curling with a sort of calm. "Get the fuck off my ship." With that, she shot him in the face then kicked him off of her. He stumbled backwards until he fell out, unconscious from point blank range. She knew that wouldn't kill him. She witnessed it once with Aidan. Regardless, being unconscious at sea was a death sentence. Now her main concern was rescuing her cousin. She ordered the pilot to lower the ship. Noire was looking up at the ship as she fell from it. It was impossible to be saved now. She turned towards the approaching water. Was she going to die of her worst fear? The fear began to settle into her bones, and seconds before she hit the water, her entire body was covered in the black hardened skin. Even with her armour, she felt the painful impact of the water, but she survived. Still, she couldn't fight against the currents, gasping for air as her body normalized, reaching the surface. She was already starting to panic, flailing about, sputtering out water. She didn't dare cry out for help. That usually resulted in being pushed further under. She slipped under anyway, the cold making her cringe and slowing her movement. Even if she put on her armour again, she would still feel the cold, and it wouldn't save her from drowning. She suddenly felt weak. So weak. She was dying, and she knew it. If she wasn't already underwater, she would have cried. She and Shaede fought so hard to survive, and now Noire wouldn't make it. Noire was about to give in, but above her, she saw something fall into the water. It was...moving towards her. They reached out for her, and with newfound desperation to live, she reached out, welcoming the subtle warmth as it grabbed her. Whoever this was, they were trying to save her. It didn't look like Shaede, Rubi or McKay. Why couldn't she think? They pulled her close, dragging her to the surface, air coming all at once. She gasped, coughed, and clung to her saviour, nearly sobbing in relief. She looked up, coming face to face with Leon. |

Shaede’s grin widened as the green one ran at her, names were gone from her mind, she could only hear the racing blood, the thumping of her heart, the thrill of death… He screamed some insult and she laughed, ready to feel the blast of his power and fight it back. Suddenly she was aside, knocked down and rolled, looking up in confusion, the dark haired one… a familiar face… stole her fight! But as he was his she was only further confused, why would he leap in the way of such an attack? There was no way he could stop it… so why…? A moment later the light blinded her, and a being so used to the dark, she screamed in pain, a shriek like a wraith, and her vision blurred, her silver eyes barely open, she felt light, weightless, her now long hair waved around like a black ribbon in the wind… arms seized her and she could barely move, the light had frozen her, blinded her, she felt a slap to her face and rage welled up in her once more… the inky black lines swirled over her skin again… slowly, her strength returned to her… She felts herself impact on ground, only serving for anger to rise further, her hands closed slowly into fists and her eyes snapped open. The entire cabin grew dim, as though the lights were wearing out, she growled, sounding like an animal, instinct screamed at her. ‘Kill...’ a inhuman voice like the black pit itself commanding her to destroy all she touched. She rose, black smoke pouring off her, surrounding the entire ship in darkness, the soldiers that tried to follow them could not see a thing, they were invisible. In a blink, she was on the edge of the railing, looking down, peering through the darkness she created, her eyes sharper than any human… she watched as the water grew closer, her enemy fell… she screeched with rage, again denied a fight! She heard sounds behind her and glared at the source. Humans… pathetic creatures… she should just wipe them from the world-- but something made her stop, her eyes flicked to the unconscious human on the ground… the familiar one… with another bestial growl she turned back. She spotted two figures in the water and… one was her sister. Huge black feathered wings sprouted from her back, and she leapt-! somehow knowing what to so, she reached down to those awaiting her. - Leon was shocked, the whole thing a testament to the horror of the Empire… the moment he had seen his sister sprouting those horns… his heart had stopped. Gods, what had that place done to her?! The ship jerked and he was snapped to attention, running about trying to keep the ship aloft. he was relieved when Shaede and Aidan were returned but… Noire! He audibly gasped as she was thrown back. He didn’t even think, merely ran to the railing and lept over, he could see her falling and knew she would be afraid… cold water… Using what little power he had; he managed to slow his descent enough so as not to cause himself harm. He found her easily and scooped her up; bringing her to the surface and holding her tight to try and ease the chill. “it’s alright, kitten, I’ve got you...” he gasped and he swam with her, trying to keep them afloat… debris still fell and he had to get her out of the path of it… “I won’t let you go…” he panted. a few moments later he looked up and gasped, a winged figure… no- Shaede! she floated down to them and held out her hand… the fact that she still had horns disturbed him… wordlessly she raised them to the ship and dropped them gently to the deck… a moment later she collapsed… the horns, wings and tail disappearing into smoke… however her white skin still bore spiralling and entwined black markings… and her long hair pooled around her head… and the darkness that surrounded the ship lingered for a while…. before fading long after they were out of danger… |

It took moments for everything to register to Noire. As they ascended to the ship, dropped on deck, she just lied there, water pooling around her, staring up at nothing. Slowly, she turned her head to look at Leon, and something in her snapped, her bottom lip quivering. Had the healer looked now, he would have seen that she was on the verge of tears. In the ocean waters, she had clung to him more, having torn tiny holes in his suit from the strength of her terror. Now that they were safe and sound upon the ship, she merely stared at him in relief, astonishment, confusion, and something else she couldn't put words to. There was a noisy shuffling all around them. Rubi ran to her cousin, supporting the soaked girl's back against Rubi's front, embraced tearfully and lovingly, a tenderness Noire had long forgotten. The older woman had brushed aside Noire's damp strands, caressing her cheeks, constantly reassuring her that she was safe. Noire just sat there, absorbing the sight of Leon. Finally she looked around and saw that Shaede had collapsed, passed out now. Had she exhausted her powers finally? Wanting to see that she was alright, Noire crawled away from Rubi to her friend, resting her head on her lap, using the same gestures from Rubi on Shaede by brushing aside her hair. She could easily tell she was alive. She exhaled a sigh of relief. Seeing that her cousin was fine, Rubi shakily got to her feet, regaining her composure. She spun on the spot to throw a look at the crew members. "Get McKay and MacKillan into bed, now! They need care this instant." They were already on Aidan, lifting him up and carrying him off, but for Shaede, some of them hesitated to get close. One, because Noire already gained a reputation from the first day here that she was easily the moodiest, and two, because of Shaede's shocking display had everyone on edge. Rubi didn't fail to notice this, not blaming them for their fear. She too felt apprehension towards Shaede. Regardless, she repeated her order, this time more irritably to show she didn't have the patience to coddle them. This time they did as they were told, and Noire watched them carry her off, reluctantly releasing her. Rubi crouched next to Leon, poking his head. "Thank you...for saving her." --- Meanwhile on the edge of the destruction of what used to be a port, Mael still lied there, beaten and possibly unconscious. As he began to rouse, he felt a weight on his chest, shaking. Finally, as he opened his eyes, he looked at the source to find a mass of red hair. This mass was crying for some reason. When he finally registered who it was, he looked over to see the destruction. the port completely gone. His eyes widened in awe, but quickly got over it. One thing was clear. They got away. "Avalynn. please get off." |

Leon lay on the deck for a moment before sitting up, his energy was spent, he was exhausted, though he could not truly rest, he had to ensure both Noire and his sister were alright. He looked on worriedly, Shae wasn’t moving… and after what he had seen… what had they done to her?! He watched as Noire gazed back at him, merely giving a smile of reassurance. Her attention was taken by Rubi who hugged her and Leon went to his sister, checking her vitals. “She’s just unconscious,” he said softly as Noire approached, but likely she knew it already, he’d said it aloud for his own sake mostly, the comfort of hearing it… The captain approached, thanking him for saving Noire; he offered a thin smile, to show he still had some humour left in him. “Well you looked a little busy, figure I’d make myself useful…” he stated. He shifted to stand, the crew looked nervously at Shae as they were told to get her to bed. He offered to carry her, he was staggered but he would not quit. She was still dry luckily, and carried her down the halls to her quarters, laying her down on the bed gently. She looked so peaceful now… it was strange to think that mere moments ago… she was something akin to a demon of Hel… she seemed just to be sleeping, so he had to go; He hated to leave her, but he also had to check on McKay… Who was in a worse state than her. It became apparent when he entered the room to check on him, some of the crew looked worried, the doctor pushed them aside, demanding they leave at once, he grabbed his medical kit from his room and got to work to stabilize Aidan… A long while later, the Pilot’s breathing had calmed, his heart rate was steady and he was not struggling for breath… Leon felt ragged… dark circles formed around his eyes when he finally left the pilot to rest… He spoke to the captain first, trying not to sway on his feet… “I don’t know when they will wake, they both used too much energy… and McKay… whatever that blast was, should have killed him… he is lucky to be alive at all…” He shook his head, “He’s stable, and resting… but… I don’t know if he will wake…. we’ll just have to wait and see…” --- Back in the crumbling Port of the floating city, rubble shifted, and bright red hair peeked out from the rocks, speckled green eyes looked around… Avalynn pushed herself from the pile she found herself in, she had cuts and bruises all over… She scanned the area… and spotted a figure she knew laying still in the ruins. With a gasp, she ran to him, forgetting her injuries and pain that screamed up her leg every time she took a step. “Mael? Mael?!” She cried dropping to her knees by him, he didn’t move, didn’t respond… she stared in horror… that woman… she’d… she’d killed him?! No… it was impossible! “No… please… no no… wake up! Wake UP dammit!!” She shook him roughly, even slapped him… but to no avail… broken and exhausted, she collapsed on his chest, crying and shaking with sobs. Suddenly a voice broke through her tears. she looked up sharply in shock. He was alive! She broke into a teary smile and leapt on him in a tight hug a second later, she laughed in relief. “Oh thank god… I thought… I thought you were dead!” She gasped. |

Regardless of his tolerance for pain, Mael winced from the display of relief and affection. Dazedly, he stared into the night sky. He was going to need a great deal of painkillers for this. Awkwardly, he patted Avalynn's back, trying to sit up with some difficulty. The wounds and injuries he sustained were painful, but tolerable, and he'd live. However, he considered their loss a greater pain. They failed. Still, he wasn't surprised. Shaede MacKillan had proven to be more difficult and unpredictable than he anticipated. As herself, he would have eventually bested her, but as she was, that was no longer the case. It was more difficult to defeat an opponent you were given specific instructions to keep alive. He had also not seen Noire's attack coming. Judging by the destruction, he almost thanked her, as he probably would have been destroyed along with the port. He looked at Avalynn finally, noticing her own injuries. "Are you injured?" he asked as a formality, though he'd admit he felt some concern for her well-being. Even he was not heartless. When she answered, he nodded then quietly asked, "What happened here?" --- Rubi helped Noire up once everybody got moving. She originally intended to bring Noire to her room, but her cousin insisted on being with Shaede. Giving in, having almost lost her, the captain did as she asked. Once the room cleared out and Leon had already gone to diagnose McKay, Noire sat in a chair beside Shae's bed, resting her head down next to her friend's shoulder. The battle had proved exhausting and Noire just wanted to sleep off the fatigue while remaining by Shaede's side. Rubi watched for a moment before leaving her alone, closing the door quietly behind her and heading straight for the bridge. "Head for Iluka," she immediately commanded of the step-in pilot. Nobody said anything, just doing as they're told as they changed course. Rubi remained quiet until she heard footsteps behind her. Turning, she spotted the doctor, who looked better than she imagined he felt, for sure. Once he gave his report on Shaede and Aidan, she stated, "Yes...lucky. This has happened to McKay before, but nothing to this extent." Even she had to wonder if Aidan would ever wake up. "You've done all you can, Doc. Get some sleep. We're heading back to headquarters. It will take a day and a half with the damages we've sustained. We'll be on the ground for awhile once we get there." |

Avalynn wiped the tears from her face, looking at him with shining eyes of adoration… she was so sure she’d lost him… She was actually flattered when he asked about her… she managed a grimacing smile. “I am alright actually…” she said, “A few minor injuries, but I will be okay… I think.” When he asked what happened… she held her head, it was so much to take in, and she had to remember is all succinctly. “After… you went down, the one with the horns… she tried to attack Ritter, I think… there was a blast of light and the whole place started crumbling… They took the other two on the ship and flew off as the port started to fall apart… then everything was black and smokey, like a haze… then the ship was gone… I think Ritter followed, but I haven’t seen sign of him…” she told her superior with as much of the detail as she could remember… but the image of that woman… how her long hair floated behind her… how she moved so gracefully… Avalynn couldn’t get the image from her mind. -- The world was a smokey fog… visions clamoured before her eyes for specific attention… she watched as hands clawed for her, reaching out to trap her… drag her down into a pit… A voice… words escaped her but the voice she knew, evoking rage a bile to boil in her gut… her lip curled, she slashed at the hands and smoke around her, calling forth the powers that she held. ‘The darkness and shadow are mine to command!’ she hissed, ‘I will not fall to it! You do not frighten me! And no longer will you or anyone else own me!!!’ Flames erupted around her, running up her legs and over her form, she roared like a beast into the darkness… fire encircling the entire area. ‘If they will stand in my way, they all will BURN!’ |

Dawn... Mael sat in the medical bay of his ship, bandages wrapped around his lower torso, with bruises littering his entire body. Garrick was possibly caught in the blast, which means he could be dead. But inhuman beings were resilient, so it was possible he was still around, unless he drowned in the ocean. The Lt. General frowned deeply, disappointed that they had failed to capture at least one of them. He didn't calculate the change in Shaede, so he was a bit unarmed. He heard a commotion outside the room until the door opened with a guard being thrown through. He didn't bother reaching for a weapon, even before Garrick walked in, completely soaked, clothes ruined and charred, hair a complete mess as droplets fell to the floor. "You're alive, I see." The young man rolled his shoulders and head, cracking the joints while his eyes flared. "Bitch captain shot me in the head. Couldn't follow them. And with my dear big brother out of commission, I can't sense him anymore." Mael cursed. Of all the luck. "Damn it." It would be difficult to track them now. --- Noire had woken up beside Shaede, staring at her friend for a long time before she decided she was hungry. Sighing, she got up, giving Shae a final glance before leaving the room, heading for the mess hall. Things had quieted down considerably, and there was no one in the kitchen as she entered, so she decided to help herself. Maybe she'd bring food to Shae's room in case she woke up. If not, Noire could eat the rest. As she rummaged the cupboards, she could hear someone enter the room and she spun around to see Leon standing there. Unprepared to see him all of a sudden, Noire dropped the food she had gathered thus far, turning red with embarrassment. "Damn it!" After what he had done for her last night, she saw him in a completely different light, now feeling insecure about herself. Swallowing thickly, she went to pick up her mess, uncomfortable with these new feelings. |

Avalynn waited by Mael's side... it was only after the adrenaline and excitement had died down that she noticed how sore and injured she was... luckily she was not seriously hurt, but she did have a bandage around some stitches on her arm, mostly it was harsh bruising and small cuts. She felt her head throbbing and she was told she had a sprain in her right ankle. She was sitting just feeling sorry for herself, when Garrick walked in, she looked up surprised, just staring at him, he looked awful! “Are you alright…?” she asks softly. She stood hesitantly, looking him over, he seemed... tired and dirty more than anything... not really much in the way of injured... how had he managed to remain so unscathed? She supposed his powers made him more resilient to damage... she looked at him rather amazed... --- Leon rose earlier than he had anticipated... he was sure he would have slept for nearly a whole day... he certainly felt he needed it.... but he awoke hungry and filthy and could not return to sleep without a wash and a feed. He washed first, in cold water, it was good to wake him off and remove the grime from the previous day... He headed down to the mess without much of a glance at anyone... he entered the room and glanced up to find Noire awake and rummaging around for some food. He opened his mouth to greet her when she dropped what she had gathered up. She must still have been tired after her ordeal yesterday... he stepped over swiftly and helped her scoop up what she had dropped. He glanced at her concerned and stood with her. "How are you feeling?" He asked softly. He offered her a tired smile. His hand rested on hers as he looked at her full of concern for her wellbeing. |
