The brunette smirked. "Oh, I think she can pull a couple out of her hat." With that, and without warning, Aidan pulled back on the stick, and the plane flown upwards where the stars were sleeping right now. After awhile, it spun to start flying back down and he spun it gracefully, pulling up at the last second to fly merely twenty feet above the buildings. When they reached the edge of the city, he descended again, heading down towards the oceans, going down in a spiral, and again, pulling back up, followed by a flock of birds. Ascending, he punched through the clouds, flying just enough over them to be like a speedboat over water. He looked towards the sun, and it was gorgeous, lighting up the clouds just enough to give them a soft glow. "Like floating on dreams, huh?" he asked. --- Noire couldn't help it. She was done for. This time there wasn't as much resistance in her laughter. Who was she kidding? The scene was hilarious! When the man successfully walked away, covered in the remains of fruit tendrils and sticky juice, she wiped at her eyes, her laughter finally calming down. She looked at the sun, spots of light hitting her face through the thick leaves. It was past noon, she judged. Perhaps they should be heading back. After all, tonight was a big night, and they had to go retrieve their freshly cleaned wardrobe from Maggie. Who knew how long the process of dressing up would take? Effortlessly, she jumped down the fifteen feet from the top, brushing off herself. Besides, Shae was probably wondering where she was right now. Noire was certainly wondering what she was doing. "We should head back." |

Shaede gripped the seat in front of her, not realising she was squeezing his shoulder, her smile spread from ear to ear as she let out a joyous laugh. She held on when he spun, a giddy feeling rushed through her, it was amazing! The pilot levelled out above the clouds, the sun's beams catching the edges of the clouds. A soft sigh escaped her lips as she leant forward again. "More than just dreams," she answered. After a while they both knew it was time, and regrettably they had to land. The owner was simply beaming as Shaede and Aiden stepped out of the craft. "Enjoyed yourself I see," he laughed. Shae could not help but smile; "I admit, I am saddened that it is over," she stated, and in an act of sincere gratitude, she shook his hand. She did not like physical contact, and the man seemed to know how much it meant to her. "Thank you," she stated quietly, her eyes met his and the owner seemed stunned a moment. He did not fully regain his composure until she had departed and Aiden passed him. "That lass..." the owner whispered to the other pilot, "more precious than Miss Daisy herself... know what I mean?" He looked at the young man pointedly, "take well care of her," and with that he turned back to his plane . -- Leon grinned, he certainly felt accomplished, and the reward was well worth any punishment she may give him. He'd made her laugh, and he'd seen her enchanting smile. It was a grander victory than he'd expected from the day. It was not lasting however, as Noire dropped down he felt a pang of disappointment, the theatre would have to wait for another time, and whilst he was sad thier day was done, he hoped at least to dance with her that night. He did look forward to seeing her in a dress however. He too climbed down from the height, dropping the last few metres. He nodded to her as he approached where she stood, "As you wish my lady," he smiled charmingly, "I suppose we have a lot to prepare for," |

Aidan paused to listen to the old man, slightly puzzled by his words as he walked away. He wondered briefly if he knew something about Shaede that he himself did not. On their way back to The Alice, he glanced at her now and then, the old man's words still in his mind. Right now wasn't the time though. They had work to do before the big show tonight. "I hope you enjoyed yourself. I'd be happy to take you here again in the future. Aaand, maybe I'll let you pilot this time." He grinned playfully. --- Noire suddenly looked disgruntled, already not looking forward to the painstaking process of putting on that stupid getup. "Speak for yourself. You only have a stupid suit. I've got a whole garden to wear. Make-up, hair, that...dress." Now she looked horrified. |

Aiden's voice broke through her thoughts as they approached 'The Alice' she turned to look at him with a smile, not a small reserved smile as those she would usually wear, no this was a wide truly happy smile, a rarity for her... and she had him to thank. "Indeed I did," she stated, "And I shall enjoy piloting, and you will not be able to stop me," she chuckled to herself, a bit of a swagger in her step; she felt she could conquer he world... well... almost. She sighed as the thought entered her mind. "It's a pity that the day shall be ruined with dresses and a stuffy room full of toss-pots." She did not look forward to dressing up, but she knew she had a part to play, and she would do it well, after all... it's what she was trained for. Espionage and deceit. -- Leon chuckled, her expression was adorable, it led his mind to wonder what she would look like in a dress.... "I shan't lie, Miss Squire, I am actually looking forward to it..." he grinned at her, "At least it will not be for long," he added comfortingly. He had to admit he wasn't looking forward to it either, all the preening and pretention... nonsense. If one lowered their sense of decency, they could have some semblance of fun... but to be honest the appalling nature of the 'upper class' made his skin crawl. Leon silently vowed to protect Noire from it as much as he could, she had suffered enough... not to mention she could blow their cover if she slashed someones throat with her impressive claws. |

Aidan smiled. "Well, you'll at least look good. I've got this drab suit I've gotta wear. Perfect for my role as the driver, slash, servant." He still had to get the car cleaned up before he got ready. "So...Miss Flannigan, until tonight," he said as they boarded the ship and they had to part ways, giving her a small bow. "Certainly looking forward to it." And he waved as he walked away. It was at that moment that Rubi suddenly popped up, looking between Shae and Aidan. "Hmm," she began, having an impish smirk on her features. "I sense something is going on between you two." Before Shae could deny or protest, Rubi piped up, "Well! When Noire returns from the city, the three of us are going to be spending the next few hours together. How's your hand at makeup and hair?" --- Noire and Leon stopped just before the shop, stepping inside to be greeted again by Maggie. Their clothes were freshly cleaned and dried, leaving them warm and smelling of something pleasant but not strongly enough to overwhelm the senses. When they said their thanks and left for the ship, they were quiet and Noire simply felt awkward. Finally, she broke the silence. "We didn't finish our homework," she said, referring to the backstory assignment Rubi gave them. |

Shaede narrowed her eyes as he bowed to her, was he attempting to charm her? Or was that merely his flirtatious manner? She shook her head, the male mind was not something she understood. From what she had seen of the gender they either wanted sex or... well mostly sex from women. Though she had determined he was not interested in her. The captain's voice impeded her thought, and Shaede was none too keen on Rubi's mischevous expression. It was suspicious. Her declaration of 'something going on' insensed Shae. It was utter nonsense! She opened her mouth to say just that, when she was interrupted. "I suppose I can manage..." she muttered, not looking forward to it. "Though I haven't often needed to..." --- Leon paused, she was right. After a moment of thought, he spoke up; "We met in the gardens, 5 years ago, perhaps you lost something? I helped you find it... " he mused, "sound believable? Or perhaps I could have been a romantic and saved you from drowning?" He chuckled in reference from the ruffians from earlier. "If you like we can say you have a mild condition and I can do the talking?" He suggested. "I will simply agree with everything you say." He shrugged, which ever option made the ordeal easier for the two of them would be the most suitable. He hoped that they would pass enough to survive the night... though most nobles didnt care what anyone said, they just waited for their turn to speak. |

Rubi smiled knowingly. "I know you don't like to be touched, but if you need any help in that area, I will gladly do so. Besides, everything has to be perfect for tonight, including us ladies. Ah! Seems like Noire is back from--oh ho??" The captain peered down at the hangar to see her cousin with Shaede's brother. "I'm surprised she's sticking around him. After what I heard from the crew, I thought she hated him." Meanwhile, Noire just listened to Leon's suggestions and frowned a little. "No." She paused for a moment as she thought it over. "Well, Catrina Renard is cousins with Connor Flannigan's business partner, so they could have met through her and through Heather, as they were already friends." |

Shaede regarded the captain with surprise, she did not think the woman would remember her preferences for human contact. She was unsure if she would need help, but it seemed likely as she was not aware of the fashion trends and she did not wish to stand out too much. Rubi's sudden expression caught her attention and she turned, an eyebrow raised in curiosity, last Noire had said, she'd thought her brother an idiot... though she thought of everyone as an idiot, Shade was sure. a small smile curved her lips, she hoped that Noire would have someone to trust, the girl deserved it. -- Leon could not help but smile, "Damn, I am never going to be a hero," he chuckled, but he had know she was unlikely to play a damsel in distress. "But that makes sense, Heather would introduce them... she likes to play matchmaker..." he stated, eyes flicking up to regard the captain and his sister looking upon them with smirks on their faces. "Don't look now," he muttered, "we have an audience." he gestured upward, "I believe they shall be wanting you to join them, m'lady. I shall see you later." with a bow, Leonhart retreated, leaving the lady be. |

Noire looked up and sent both Shae and Rubi her award-winning scowl. What the hell were they smirking about? It wasn't what it looked like! Honest! Her disapproval of their expressions was cut short as Leon said his short goodbye. As he bowed, Noire felt a fleeting sense of disappointment, a glimmer of it showing in her eyes, turning her gaze away before he saw anything. Casually, she responded with, "Yeah, sure. Later." Waiting a couple moments before going onto the ship, she sent another scowl at the pair of ladies waiting for her by the time she joined with them. "What you looking at?!?" Rubi had that sly little smile on her face that said, 'ohhh, nooothing.' Noire wasn't buying it but Rubi already cut in before Noire could make any denial. "We've got work to do ladies. Join me in my room and we can get started. Bring your dresses." And Rubi walked off. Together, Noire and Shae walked back to their rooms in silence, and Noire couldn't help but notice the occasional glances Shae sent her. Normally she'd yell at people to stop it, but Shae, she was a little more tolerant. Calmly, she asked, "What?" |

Shae could not help but grin as Noire asked... "How was your date?" She look in her eye was evil. She braced herself for Noire to take a swing at her. The smile faded however as they arrived at their rooms. Shae blanched, "I do not look forward to this..." she admitted, stepping inside the room. From beneath the bed she collected a box where she had put all the items she would need for that night. The dress was on a hanger and a closed bag, apparently to prevent damage. She briefly wondered what Aiden might think of her all dressed up, before remembering he was not interested and it didn't matter. She waited for Noire to collect her things before heading back to Rubi's quarters with her. "So what did you do today then?" She asked. |

Noire paused in her stride, adopting a thoughtful expression that seemed completely different than what Shae would be used to. "He...intervened," she vaguely explained. She seemed to be off in her own world until she entered Rubi chambers and turned a shade whiter. "Oh god..." Rubi seemed to be preparing for this moment, as there was a huge makeup chest that stood from the floor, carrying many perfumes in fancy bottles, creams, eye shadows, lipsticks, gloss, nail polish, and so much more that looking at it actually made Noire dizzy. Rubi came out from the bathroom, wearing nothing but a towel. Noire instantly froze at the sight. "Alright, put your things on the table over there. First thing's first. Bathing. I'm sure you're clean and all, but perfection is a must. There are fresh towels in there and I just refilled the tub. There's also robes. We don't want any makeup on our fancy dresses. I'll be your makeup artist today." With the girls slightly horrified, they went right to it. --- Meanwhile, Aidan had finished with the car's maintenance and cleanup, and everyone else on board was cleaning themselves up for the party. Having freshly showered, as he deemed that was more than enough, he went into his small collection of clothes, eyeing the one outfit he hated. Sighing, he grabbed it off the rack and began to dress, looking in the mirror. Pulling at a tendril of his long bangs, he sighed, undoing the tie and trying to tame his long hair. After he was done, he shaved his stubble, then pulled on a pair of brown riding boots. He left for the storage bay as they prepared to have the car descend on a lift. "How's it going?" he asked some of the pirates. "Well. We're just waiting for the ladies and gent to arrive. It'll be an hour's drive due to the traffic. The party is going to be huge." Aidan pulled out an old pocket watch. It was worthless by any standards, and the glass face when he opened it had a crack in it, but the damn thing still worked. "We still have an hour before we should leave. Make sure the lift ain't gonna break down or something while we're in it." While his coworker confirmed, Aidan walked off to watch everyone. Then it began, and he cursed the feeling as he scratched at his neck. Damn itchy suit. |

Shaede felt ridiculous, her face painted, she couldn't touch her face at all. With sheer force of will she demanded her eye to stop itching, else the black with which it had been lined smudge everywhere... Then Rubi would have at her, amd she certainly did not wish to deal with that. She'd managed to pin her hair in a 'fashionable' way under her small top hat with it's veil. She found herself yet again wishing she'd not cut it... Her nails a soft lilac that matched the smoky eye-shadow Rubi had painted on, her face as pale as ever, and her lips were slightly stained with a purplish pink hue. "Honestly is this a ball or are we the entertainment?" Shaede muttered, "I feel like a clown..." Her dress hung down to her ankles, it restricted her movement, and the bodice was tighter than she'd remembered, it pushed her breasts up almost like they were going to fall out! She was not used to wearing such pale colours, Rubi insisted she not spill any food on herself. Shaede wasn't overly hungry and didn't really want to eat anyway... She'd had to practice walking in the strange shoes, she didn't really wish to tip over and make more of a fool of herself than she already felt. She turned to look at her friend and smiled, "At least you can get away with it," she murmured quietly while Rubi was busy with earrings. "And I know someone who will be mighty pleased with your outfit!" she chuckled teasingly. --- Meanwhile, Leonhart stepped out of his cabin and headed down the hall to the main deck. He was attaching his cuff links as he walked, they glinted in the light, to look like diamonds, he had to appear wealthy after all. His suit certainly stood out, a sleek black coat with tails, his vest a heavily embroidered silver and purple against similar black to the jacket and trousers. Hie shirt beneath was white and he had a silvery cravat at his throat pinned with a diamond-like stone. He stepped on deck and as he looked up, spotted the car. He noticed the pilot and stepped over, top hat under his arm as he began with the other cuff. He whistled in appreciation at the vehicle. "Very nice, that is a real beauty." he stated, looking over his purple tinted sunglasses. |

For barely a moment, Aidan eyed Leon with a scolding and envious scrutiny. As Leon looked at him with that 'ha-ha' smirk on his face, he could see that Aidan did indeed clean up nicely when he wanted to. Not much was different about him appearance other than the fact he shaved, and his usually long bangs were actually slicked away from his face, a few strands hanging in front of it. His suit was drab in societal terms. Dark grey trousers tucked into his brown riding boots. A white cotton shirt with a matching white cravat under a grey jacket with short tails. In one hand he carried a black trench coat, in the other, a black flat cap. "Yep," was all he said. --- Noire stood in front of a mirror, bare shoulders hunched up as if she was a turtle trying to hide their head entirely. Her eyes were framed in black eye liner, and a light blue was used as a gradient that faded into her already light skin, giving her that angelic face. Hair bangs framed her face in soft curls, some loose strands hanging delicately from the intricate updo in the back, kept in place by a lattice silver clip that looked like a fancy shell that held her hair there. Atop was the light blue top hat with white band and fluffy feather. Her dress was all poofy in the skirt while the bodice was tight with a button-up, light blue under-bust corset with leather straps, framing what assets she did have, being held by white wrinkled fabric that hid most of her chest but still showed that she was very much a female. The boots she wore were black boots with white spats. Rubi also had a poofy skirt with a similar dress to Noire, but where Noire was pale and delicate, Rubi was darker and classy. Most of her outfit was the colour of reddish brown and cream trimming. Around her under-bust corset was a pair of gold belts instead of buttons. Rubi put on slightly darker make up around her eyes to accentuate them, glazing them lightly with gold. Her lips now a dark red, she curled them as she found the necessary jewellery, putting in gold earrings, giving the girls silver earrings, while also providing them necklaces. Noire was given a lace black choker with a blue rose cameo on it, completing her outfit. Noire looked up in time to see her cousin slick down her hair and putting on a small fancied up wig that matched the same light orange to make up for the fact was possibly a lot shorter than Shae's. Pathetically, Noire cringed into herself fearfully as she looked at herself in the mirror again. "I changed my mind, I don't wanna go!" she squeaked. Rubi chuckled, placing lacy gloved hands on Noire's shoulders. "Don't be such a baby. We'll be the belles of the ball. I imagine your fiancee will be impressed as well. Now, we're ready, we're FABULOUS, so let's go." As they were leaving. Rubi noticed how Noire just stood in the room, arms crossed stubbornly much like a child, her famous scowl ever present. Rubi sighed and went behind her, and for the next ten minutes, finally managed to push her cousin out and onto the deck. Upon the trios entry, they were greeted with a chorus of wolf whistles, and Noire hid behind Rubi and Shae, pulling down her hat slightly, hoping her head would fit inside it. Upon seeing Aidan and Leon, Rubi marched over with years of experience in her boots heels. "Well, we ready to go?" Aidan looked over and he was floored, adopting the look of stunned silence. He was used to Rubi looking like an exotic goddess, but with Shae dressed like she just came from the fairy gardens, he couldn't move or speak for the longest time. Part of him hoped that Leon didn't notice, but the other part didn't care if he did. He swallowed hard and severely wished that he wasn't playing the role of a servant tonight. "D-damn," he managed, his mouth dry now. "Helloooo, Mr. McKay, I asked you if we are ready to go!!" Rubi rudely interrupted. Aidan finally snapped out of it and scowled at her. "Shut up woman. Can't you see I'm gawking in admiration." He sighed, his short-lived fantasies now being locked up in the back of his mind. Time to get serious. "We're ready when you are." The Captain nodded in approval before heading to the car, but Aidan lingered, unable to take his eyes of Shae. He coughed a little to clear his throat before approaching Shaede. "I don't know what the Captain did, but...you look extremely lovely. It's really too bad I won't get a chance to dance with you this evening. "With that declaration, he smiled and walked away before he embarrassed himself further. Like a ninja, Noire leaned in close to Shaede with the expression of a sly cat upon seeing her friend's blush. "Hoooo, what's this? Is that the makeup, or are you actually blushing???" |

Aiden was clearly not in the mood to chat about the car, to which Leon shrugged slightly. It did not bother him, but the man did take care of the vehicle, Leon could not help but appreciate it... however he was appreciating something else entirely a short time later. Rubi had a sassy confident look to her, her smirk nearly made Leon chuckle. It was plain she loved being dressed up. But one look at the girls behind her, and he could barely breathe, much less laugh. Noire looked like an angel, she and Shaede seemed to match, similar white dresses Noire in a powedery blue accent while Shaede had a pale purple. Both looked as though they had stepped down from the heavens themselves to grace the crew with their prescence. Rubi snapoed them out of it and Leon made a casual glance over, frowning slightly as he noticed Aiden too had his eye on the girls... namely Leon's sweet baby sister. The brotherly protectiveness was at the surface and seconds. He hid it with a calm expression and stepped over to them. --- Shaede stepped out on deck with her head held high, she ignored the stares and whistles, she refused to even acknowledge them. However one pair of eyea caught her attention. That of the pilot... he was staring at her open-mouthed. Why was he staring at her. He knew what she looked like... Rubi attempted to gain his attention, his response was odd. She wondered what there was to admire, it was just a dress after all. She glanced away a moment and blinked when she looked back. Aiden was right in front of her. She watched his face, her expression slightly confused. He seemed... nervous? She could not be sure. But she felt heat rush to her own face as he nentioned wanting to dance with her. Especially since his earlier conversation of a date to him involved dancing.. did he...? No. It was just the pretty dress, made her look like the other women he chased. That was it, nothing to get concerned about. Noire made a sly comment that made her shoot the other girl a hot look. "Its the makeup," she snapped abruptly. "Ladies," Leon's deep coice intereupted. He offered his hand as he opened the car door for them. Helping them in before he too hopped inside. A moment later, they were on the road... |

Oh man, thought the pilot as he got into the driver's seat. He couldn't believe it. He had seen a lot of women dressed up, but somehow Shae's new appearance had put a skip in his heartbeat. The car was then descended toward the port ground and he started the car, the engine humming pleasantly before the hangar doors were opened for them. Driving off, he weaved through very busy streets. Eventually the amount of vehicles thinned out the closer they got to the upper class ring. Noire fidgeted in her seat, keeping the poofiness of her skirt down. She sat across from Leon and she could feel his eyes on her. It took a great deal of her mental power to distract herself from the heat threatening to pink her face. Tonight was the night that her training would finally be put to a real test. Rubi sat quietly next to her, smiling like a fox. When they finally arrived, the party had already begun, and as per Aidan's role, he opened the door, helping each lady out of the car with the simple support of his hand. When Shae's hand went in his, there was a jolt and they exchanged a quiet look before he smiled. "Good luck," he whispered. Hesitantly, Noire watched as Leon offered her his arm before taking it. As they headed up the steps, Aidan watched their retreating backs before he exchanged a nodding with Rubi and he drove off. The two pairs walked to the main doors, being asked for their invitations, which Rubi presented to the doorman and they were allowed inside. How she even got a hold of the invites, even Leon and Aidan had no idea. They were pointed in the direction of the ballroom, the place crowded with the rich, the famous, and the host himself, Mr. Ashcroft. Rubi pointed Ashcroft to the other girls. "That's him. Let's go greet him." Ashcroft looked no more than the age of twenty-nine, his long light blonde hair framing his handsome face, the end of his hair tied in a dark blue ribbon. He wore a dark blue formal attire, and his dark reddish brown eyes landed on the new guests. As was his duty as the host, he approached them, not recognizing their faces. He plastered on a smile. "Good evening, I am Victor Ashcroft. May I enquire as to your names." Rubi curtseyed in her gown with that foxlike smile. "I am Lady Scarlet Volpe." When the others introduced himself, Noire was so out of it, that she nearly missed her cue and she stumbled over her words for a couple of seconds before finally collecting her wits. "I am Catrina Renard, Mr. Flannigan's fiancee." Victor arched a brow at this claim, looking to her left hand to find a ring on the designated finger before smiling serenely. "Congratulations. I do hope you four will enjoy the party. However, I must greet the other guests, as they are being fashionably late." He bowed, then eyed Shae briefly before leaving. Rubi turned to Shae. "Oh good, he noticed you. You remember what you have to do, right?" |
