Aidan just watched quietly as Shaede addressed the child. He was curious to see how she handled children, having been isolated in a prison for most of her life. Aidan himself liked kids, so he could handle them fine. When asked about the detour, he shrugged, a smile of amusement on his features. Then came the comments about him being a Prince. HA! But then it got out of hand, and he felt taken aback about marriage. Kids said the darnest things. His brows rose when Shaede offered the girl to buy some books, but then he frowned at being called Scruffy. "You calling me a dog, Missy?" he jested, a small smirk playing on his lips. --- Noire spent some time in the shop, having exchanged names with the woman, finding out that her name is Maggie. After awhile, she finally decided on an assortment of goodies, intending to share some of them with Shaede when she got back to the ship. She left the shop, paper bag in arm. She was already munching on a jelly filled danish, heading back to the ship before she felt some eyes on her. A couple of men were leering at her perversely. "Hey, toots. Why don't you share some of that sugar with us?" one suggested, smacking his lips. "Why don't you go stick your head in some water?" she retorted coldly, and was about to walk away when the other came up to her. "Back off," she warned. "Or else what," he said, smiling. "Whoops!" And in an instant, Noire's instincts didn't react in time as cold water was suddenly dumped on her, and she dropped the bag in shock. The guy smacked his lips at the sight of her wet white shirt, showing enough to horrify her. The first bastard had come up behind her, dumping a pail of water on her. Some of the bystanders stared disapprovingly at the duo, shouting their outrage at their horrible prank while the two men laughed. "Haha!! Gotcha! That's what you get for being unkind to gentlemen." Noire's breath came in short pants, shivering as her chest felt constricted, her pupils now pinpoints. She couldn't think clearly, and as the men continued to laugh at her, his fingers clenched outward, on the brink of turning into the lethal talons that would rip them into shreds. Hands rose to feel around her neck, feeling like she was choking. Her heart was beating wildly inside her ears, unable to hear other people in the street yelling at the pranksters, nor the laughter they emitted. No...that she could hear. The scientists were laughing at her as they drowned her, saying that she had to be a good girl if she didn't want to face this torture. She was barely a second away from screaming... |

"I believe I called you a prince actually." She stated, "But you are a little Scruffy around the edges..." She nodded to him, His clothes still needing an iron and his chin unshaven. She smirked playfully, wondering if the sort of compliment would go to his head. "Though when you make a face like that, you look like a kicked puppy." Teasing him was becoming rather fun!" Abigail returned after a short while and showed Shaede three books she had chosen. Shaede smiled, "A Lost Trinket, The Chronicles of the Knights of K'Ren and... huh... a history book, Well I am impressed," She smirked and took the books from Abigail, who was smiling so much her face might split. Shaede turned to the clerk and pulled out a rather fancy looking coin purse, and gave the elderly man the money. He packed the books into a cloth bag and signed a receipt for them. Shaede then ushered them out before handing Abigail the bag. "Take good care of these won't you?" She asked quietly. Abigail nodded emphatically. "I will! I promise!" She grinned and hugged the books to her chest. Suddenly the sound of a bell rang out and Abigail gasped. "I gotta go!" she squeaked, then paused, "What's your name?" Shaede blinked, had she not said so? "My name is Shaedelynn, and this is Aiden." she said quietly. Abigail smiled wider, "Thank you princess Shaedelynn! And Prince Aiden!" She turned and ran off toward the school house. "Well, That's my good deed for the day..." She muttered, turning to see Aidan looking at her. She still held the pouch, and tossed it in his direction, "If you're wondering, I nicked it from some fop that went by. Now... something about breakfast, Scruffy Prince?" she smirked. -- Leon awoke with a start, yet again he'd barely slept, and as every night... nightmares plagued his sleep. The drink helped numb his mind, but it didn't always work. This morning was one such example. He stumbled out of his bed and nearly fell, but managed to catch himself. He dressed, albeit dishevelled fashion, his hair hung in front of his eyes, he didn't care though, he was only looking down anyway. He stumbled down the hallway, finding a bottle in his hand. As some point however it was dropped, he heard the clang but didn't care. The sunlight was blinding, and he could barely see anything, but he stumbled along anyway, he figured he'd better get some fresh air. He wandered for a while and stumbled into a few people, a wall... even falling over a dustbin at one point. It wasn't until he had reached one of the main streets that he could see and keep himself upright. Suddenly he heard people laughing and footsteps headed his way. A few young men shoved past him and he was about to yell at them when he looked up; he instantly felt cold. He knew her from a mile away, Noire, curled up in the middle of the path, holding her head, soaked in water. Before he knew what he was doing he was sprinting over, not only did she look in anguish, but if anyone noticed her hands, they were done for. He stripped his long thick coat immediately and placed it gently on her shouldersas he knelt down. "Noire? Hey...what happened? You're freezing?! Who the hell did this?!" He growled, glaring at anyone that looked for too long. Then he remembered the men that had rushed past him. He looked back, he could see them, still laughing and carrying on. His glare deepened, as he did so a stack of crates beside them began to tremble, then tumbled down on top of them. Leon smirked, pleased with the result. "Come on," he offered picking up the danish beside her, "lets get you somewhere warmer... and dryer," he helped her up gently, keeping an arm around her to keep her steady. He was hesitant however, knowing contact was a point of issue. His skin however was naturally very heated, and he was rather grateful to have the coat off. |

Aidan face cracked a big and toothy grin, merely out of amusement as he caught the pouch. At her quizzical expression, he explained, "I just find it funny that you're confessing such a crime. Darlin'," he began with a pause, "I'm a pirate. Stealing is one of the prerequisites. That, and drinking." He tied the pouch to his belt with a smirk. "As for breakfast... What do you fancy? Light and fluffy, or hearty and greasy? I know a couple of places around here. Speaking of drinking, have you ever?" If she hasn't, oh did he have much to teach her. Ravenholm being the facility that it is, he doubted it, as alcohol wasn't exactly on the food pyramid of health. And they would want their trained projects healthy as soldiers. --- The moment Leon enveloped Noire's form with his coat, she snapped back to reality a mere second before the tips of her fingers would begin to blacken and elongate. She blinked, staring at the ground as the warmth filled her enough to keep her on the edge of sanity. She looked up just in time to see a bunch of crates fall on top of the two men who put her in this state. Warily, her blue orbs turned to look at Leon, but she said nothing as the healer helped her to her feet and picked up the bag of pastries. "Oh bother!" cried out a voice, and Noire turned to find Maggie coming out of the shop at a surprising speed. "You poor dear! They hassle every woman who comes down this street! I've told the authorities again and again, but they never lock them up nor do they give them any sort of decent punishment. Always just a slap on the wrist! Bless you, young man, for coming when you did," she said, patting him lightly on the shoulder. "Come inside, dear. You need to change into some dry clothes." And like that, she dragged them both into the shop. Astonishingly, Noire couldn't say or do anything, nor did it cross her mind. She was just shocked by the kindness she was being shown. All of her life, she had known almost nothing but cruelty. Leon was told to wait downstairs while Noire was led into the back and upstairs and into a bathroom. Maggie opened a small closet with towels inside, pulling out a couple. "Feel free to shower, get yourself nice and warm. I will have clothes outside the door by the time you're done. Do you like hot cocoa?" Noire blinked. "I-I don't know..." Maggie looked astonished. "Well, we'll soon find out. Go ahead dear. Just come down when you're ready, and leave the wet clothes in the hamper. I'll have them cleaned and dried for you." "T-that's not necess--" But Maggie was already down the hall and in a different room before Noire could finish her protest. Defeated by kindness, Noire sighed and closed the bathroom door, stripping of the clothes. She shivered again the moment the coat came off, and she looked at it for a long time, perplexed by Leon's act of chivalry. Once naked, she climbed into the shower, turning on just the hot water just to let the heat seep into every inch of her being. Meanwhile, Maggie had already left the clothes and went back downstairs to find a couple of customers waiting. "I apologize for the wait," she began before serving the customers in a timely manner. When they were gone, she turned to see Leon still standing there, looking lost. She chuckled. "Don't worry, young man, she'll be fine." As she spoke, she began mixing something together. Cocoa powder went into two large mugs while a kettle began to boil. "Do you know each other?" she asked. |

Shaede folded her arms and stuck out her hip, smirking at him, "Well I can't be among Pirates without proving myself can I? I won't sit idle, I like to at least be useful... You wouldn't like me when I am bored." She shrugged and stepped in line with him as they headed down the footpath. "As for drinking, as a matter of fact yes... I am a master of stealth, Master McKay, and as such I had to practice... by sneaking into the the Institute's Head office... and stealing the prick's bottle of top shelf Irish Whiskey. I am an expensive drunk it would seem, my only luxury really, but there you go." she paused and raised her head, she could smell something... divine... Her silver eyes lit up as the looked at the Pilot, "Is that bacon?" she asked, "If so, want some. Now." she demanded. -- Leon was a little awkward, he was a little surprised to see the old woman hustle them into her shop, but due to the pastry Noire had been carrying, he guessed she had just visited there before being jumped. He waited downstairs, wondering if it were better if he let Noire be. He'd let her keep the coat for now, and get it back from her later. He heard water running from upstairs, and figured she would at least feel better after a shower. He stood, still wondering if he should go, especially after their last... conversation. His thoughts were interrupted by the old woman returning, she seemed like a kind soul, and she reminded him a little of his grandmother, the memory made him smile slightly. When she spoke to him his gaze snapped to her, breaking him from his thoughts. "I... well, we're co-workers, I suppose." He muttered, that would more or less sum up the relationship they shared. He didn't really want to go into detail, not sure what Noire had already said and how much she would want revealed. Noire seemed private, and he would respect that. "Thank you for your assistance, Ma'am." He stated, " But, I should be going, I don't think... I would not wish to overstay my welcome." he gave a short bow and turned for the door. |

He was liking Shaede more and more the more time they spent together. A woman who liked bacon. Most would have stuck up their nose at the thought of it, because it was too greasy or fattening. Aidan simply grinned and simply followed the odour trail in the air that smelled of the delectable and meaty substance. It was a breakfast house that had a very homey feeling to it, with hanging flowers and wooden tables, white cloths, and a kitchen with many grills in the back behind set of swing doors that would be at a western saloon. Most of the patrons were families with children too young for school, and of course elderly people, and possibly picturesque couples. The kind of couples that Aidan recalled the Doc and Miss Grumpy would have to appear as at the party. A casually dressed waitress came over, and sat them both at a table near a window with a view of the park before being given menus. Aidan looked over to see a bunch of kids playing together. There was a small school nearby, he remembered. If given the choice, Aidan would probably want to live on Mecha. It was a mechanical and technological wonder of the world, plus it was fused with his love of nature to keep the air clean and not look incredibly dull with endless machinery. He turned his azure eyes to the raven-haired woman sitting on the other side of the table. "What do you think of Mecha, so far?" --- "I certainly think not, young man," Maggie said. "You're not going to let this cocoa go to waste, are you? I myself can't have a cup. Besides, you could use something to pick you up after the long night you've had." Of course, she was referring to his hung over appearance, and anyone could smell the alcohol on him. She smiled knowingly as she went on. "Not only is cocoa tasty, it's good for your soul, and it will distract you from the headache you're probably having right now." She paused, glancing at the stairs to the upper flat. "Ah, it seems like she'll be down soon. Go ahead, boy, and take a seat." There was simply no winning against this elderly woman. As Leon took a reluctant seat at one of the few tables in the small bakery, there was a creaking of stairs being stepped upon as Noire descended into view, damp hair curtaining around her form. She seemed to have more colour to her skin, though she was naturally pale anyway. However, when she had water dumped on her, one wouldn't think it was possible for her to go two shades whiter. Now her body was warmed, slightly flushed from the scalding shower she just had, but it did not look blistered. In fact, it merely looked as though she had run ten miles, so she still appeared smooth as ever. Noire looked slightly uncomfortable in an uncharacteristic shy manner as she picked at the clothes she wore. She wore a light blue skirt that showed enough ankle that would offend certain countries, as well as black slippers. Tucked into the skirt was a white over-the-shoulder top with very short poofed sleeves, and lace trimming. She felt very...girly, for some odd reason. Maggie turned to look and her mouth curled into something very warm. "My, don't you look angelic. Does it fit alright?" Noire nodded, looking quite lost. "Oh good. You seemed about her size. Those were my daughter's clothes before she grew out of them. Come, come dear. The cocoa is just about done." Awkwardly, Noire glanced at Leon, who looked just as lost as her. Wordlessly, she sat down at the same table in the chair next to him. However, she still wasn't looking at him, but she didn't appear to be angry with him anymore. A couple moments later, Maggie brought over the mugs, warning them both, as it was customary, that it was hot. Noire reached out for the cup, but hesitated. Normally things ended up broken when she held things. Particularly glass. Inwardly shaking her head, she grabbed it with both hands and looked at the dark substance, sniffing the contents. Sampling a taste, she was pleased with the flavour, and drank some more, a little greedily, regardless how hot it was. Finishing it all quickly, she put down the cup and seemed...content. |

Shaede wrinkled her nose slightly at the decor, it was a little cluttered for her taste. The fact that there were so many people irked her, she usually liked to be alone... but the smell of bacon lured her in, she'd only had it once.. and she did so love the flavour of real food. She made sure she had a seat on the back wall, facing both doors, she eyed both exits carefully, if she had to run, she wanted to know where she was going. She had been trained to always have a way out, always observe, always be ready. She looked up from the menu she had been handed, curious about his question. Her silver orbs searched his face for a moment, studying his features. "So far? Interesting... I have not seen enough of it, it certainly is a mechanical marvel... but it is the people that are of the greatest concern..." she muttered, turning to look out the window. "This city is likely the same as people, seemingly kind and beautiful on the outside... but rotten in the core." She muttered, and reached over to the side of the table where a complimentary glass of water had been placed, she took a sip, not looking at him. "But I may be bitter, having not seen anything uncorrupted in this world." She sighed, finally tearing her gaze away from the window, and her mind from terrible memories at the same time. "Apologies, I seem to be terrible for table conversation. Mecha is a place I would like to explore further." --- Leon was somewhat defeated by the woman's insistence, and he did not wish to be rude, he made a face when she mentioned a long night. Of course... he probably looked like shit... he scratched his head and nodded, taking a seat at one of the tables. After a few moments he heard a creak, and looked up. His pale blue eyes widened, Noire... she was... well she was gorgeous! She looked like an angel, all freshly washed in soft clothes... Leon forced his mouth shut and quickly looked away else he be caught staring and she become offended again. She took a seat by him and neither spoke a word. When the woman approached with the mugs Leon could only mumble a 'thank you' before she bustled off again. Noire seemed to enjoy the rich drink, and he could not help but smile as she drank the whole lot up. Heat did not seem to affect her, but cold did. He would have to remember that. She was almost like a small child as she drank the hot beverage, reminded him a little of his sister on winter mornings when they were young. "You seem to be feeling better," he stated softly. He was hesitant with his words, not wanting to upset her again. |

Aidan just listened intently, saying nothing for the moment. When she finished, he remained silent. The waitress came back and he ordered a black coffee and the works for breakfast. Double. He was starving. Once Shae ordered for herself, he waited until the drinks arrived and he took his first sip of morning brew before speaking. "Ah, that's good stuff," he breathed. Putting his mug down, he looked up at Shae. "Well, I'm not exactly the best meal companion either. So, we're even." He smiled wryly. "I'm despicable, even." --- Maggie came over, eyes widening. "Oh my! You drank that right up! Did you burn yourself?" Noire shook her head as the baker smiled warmly. "Would you like some more?" "Yes, please," she said and Maggie walked away with the empty mug. Upon Leon's comment, Noire turned her eyes sharply to the healer and stared hard at him. Eventually her gaze softened. "Yeah, I guess," she said lamely. She felt the need to thank him, which annoyed her, but couldn't quite make the words come out. Instead, she settled for, "You're off the hook," referring to the conversation last night, crossing her arms as she said it. |

Shaede simply copied his breakfast order, she wasn't sure if she'd finish it, but she had a high metabolism, and had to eat often, her powers were a constant strain on her...the coffee she took with cream and sugar, though she didn't often drink the stuff. She glanced at him with a raised eyebrow asbhe spoke. "Despicable, huh?" She muttered, "hmm... I suppose you're right... from what I hear of you, you're a real heartbreaker Master McKay. A woman in every port they say... or more." She gave him a look. "Needn't worry about myself, however... monsters do not have hearts." She offered a smirk to go with her dark sense of humour. She was curious to his reaction to her accusation, the crew seemed to think he was lucky with the ladies. And the conversation he'd had much earlier spoke of two or three women he'd had just two or three days before. --- Leon kept his face behind his hand and mug as Noire rather happily agreed to more cocoa. It was too adorable. However the moment was cut short with her glare. He blanched, damn, she was still mad at him. She seemed less so than the night before. "So, I have to save you to be in your good books?" He chuckled dryly, "good to know. I will keep that in mind for later." The smile slowly faded, "but in regard to our... previous conversation. You were right, I don't know precisely what you have gone through, I was out of line and I apologise." He took a deep drink from his mug, it was incredibly rich, and soothed his sore throat. |

Aidan coughed, looking a little embarrassed. "Yeah, well, I get around...I...guess." He didn't particularly feel great about it though. It had its benefits, but honestly, it left a bad taste in his mouth, not that the women themselves were bad. He sighed. "It's not exactly a habit I'm proud of. Among other things..." Maybe asking her along was a bad idea after all. The conversation material from both ends seemed rather bitter, and she didn't seem all that approachable. Well, she was easier to talk to than her little friend, but still, they'd gone through a lot, while he had been spared that particular torture with a different kind of hell. It shaped him into what he is. The food eventually arrived and Aidan suddenly didn't feel hungry anymore. Despite his lost appetite, he began to eat with some vigour. "Better eat what you can now," he mumbled through a mouth full of eggs. "The dishes they'll have at the soiree is going to be nasty, that with the caviar and such." --- "I have a fear of cold water," she said bluntly, but softly. "What you did was small, but plenty enough to make up for your ignorance. If you hadn't shown up, someone would be dead right now." Noire looked at him firmly. "If things go well tonight, I may accept your company more often." Seeing his look of surprise, her cheeks flushed, and she turned away, crossing her arms tightly, looking annoyed, or embarrassed. "You're still an idiot, though," she added quickly. |

Shaede frowned slightly, leaning back in her seat and lacing her pale, slender fingers together, her eyes never left his face. She was curious as to why he would suddenly be so ashamed. Because she was female? Because he wished to do the same to her? She almost snorted, she would not allow anyone close to her again, not after... "If it shames you, why do it?" She queried cooly. He seemed edgy now, which piqued her curiousity. Among other things... he'd said. Hm... had he killed someone? That usually weighed heavy on a human's mind. Though she had tried to retain empathy... to deny her monstrous nature... she was a trained killer. And she was very good at it. "Who was it then? Whose life is it that still stands on your shoulders?" The conversation paused as the waitress approached, the food smelled delicious! She tucked in, starting with the mushrooms and toast. She could not help but close her eyes and allow a soft moan of pleasure escape her as she bit into a piece of bacon along with it. "Food of the gods..." she muttered to herself. "You." She pointed at him with her fork, "are one lucky sonovabitch," she then gestured to her plate, "you are allowed to eat this... everyday if you wanted... you are incredibly blessed with your freedom. Savour it." She advised, her tone was surprisingly lighthearted considering the subject matter. "And for the caviar, anything is better than the Nutrient Paste they'd give us... I would rather shoot myself in the head than stare down another tray of that stuff..." she shuddered. --- Leon chuckled at her last comment, "You sound like Shae... she thinks I'm an idiot too..." he smirked, though what she'd said sounded intriguing. "I don't blame you about the cold water, I am not much of a fan either, I fell through am icy patch when I was a kid... would have died if Shae hadn't saved my ass and gotten help..." he shrugged, he did not wish to make a big deal of it... though it was one of his most traumatic memories... unfortunately, there were a lot of them. |

Noire said nothing. So...he had been traumatized by something similar. Heh, if only he knew what it was like for her, to be dunked again and again until it was impossible to move or breath, let alone fight or care anymore. She had experienced that feeling nearly everyday. Maggie came back, refilling Noire's mug with the rich beverage. She inhaled, and surprisingly, the scent was calming to her. "How are you feeling, dear?" she asked the young woman. Noire smiled. "Much better. Thank you." "Good, good. Recuperate for however long you need. I'll get started on having those clothes washed." With that, Maggie left for upstairs while Noire stared up after her. She took a sidelong glance at the healer, giving him a considering look. "Are you up for practise?" she asked all of a sudden. The puzzled look he gave was mildly satisfying. She'd enjoy toying with him for a bit. --- Aidan just ate his food in silence. At first, it wasn't this easy for him. For some people who weren't in Ravenholm, it could be considered just as difficult. But he wasn't going to think about that now. For now, he enjoyed watching Shae greedily eat her food with vigour. It was amusing to watch someone try something new and enjoy it much like a child on Christmas morning. When she asked about whose life it was he was responsible for, the question hung heavily over him. After a moment, he said, "My father." His tone was a little dark, though his resentment wasn't directed at her. When she looked at him, his eyes averted towards the window. "I don't regret it, though." |

Leon nearly inhaled his cocoa, coughing and spluttering slightly, the way she looked at him had him on edge. "I... uhh... wh-what do you mean, practice?" he asked, looking at her nervously. What did she mean? What could they practice for? Oh... the ball tonight. He'd almost forgotten! "I mean uhm, yeah. Sure." Well that was smooth. He thought to himself. Good job Leonhart. You even sound like a prat. He chose to hide his face with his mug as he took a sip. --- Shaede looked up to see Aidan look away quickly. She swallowed the mouthful she had and smiled darkly. "Good, if you had regret you would falter in your purpose." She stated, she took the opportunity to nab a mushroom from his plate while he wasn't looking. She grinned wickedly at his when he looked back at her, licking her fingers from the remnants in victory. "Tell me, how did you come to be on the Alice?" she chose to move the conversation to brighter topics, at least for now. "Unless you had a question for me?" she raised a brow at him, more than halfway done with her meal. Perhaps this train may make him smile again. A frown simply did not suit him. |

Aidan watched her. She wasn't as quick as she thought she was. In fact, he had yet to reveal a particular skill of his. Even from the corner of his eye, he could follow her movements with ease. He smiled knowingly, but said nothing on her theft. For now. "Like I said before, I was gambling and got myself into a bit of trouble before I met Rubi and she basically...squared my debt. In return, I was to serve her on her ship since she knew of my background in mechanics and flying. Actually, I was approached by agents of the Royal Army to be employed as one of their fighter pilots. Suffice to say, I turned them down, and they weren't going to take no for an answer until I refused them again...violently. I'd rather be dead than work for that bitch," he said, taking a casual sip of his coffee. "I do have a question though. You were being raised as assassins...for what? Do you have any clue? It just seems like a lot of funding for such a place, even for a few hitmen to be made only to take care of resistance." His expression was serious again. --- Noire resisted another smirk. "Well...since we're supposed to be engaged to one another, I suggest we spend some time together...as a couple, by going around the city." Watching him turn maybe a couple shades darker with red, she almost couldn't hold back the grin. He was an idiot, so naturally, she was going to punish him...and perhaps reward him for helping her less than an hour ago. Though amused by his shock, she digressed, adopting a deadpan expression. "But I suggest you clean up first. You look like crap," she said bluntly. |

She nodded, recalling him saying something of the like earlier, however she was very tired when first they had spoken. She could not remember all that much unless she concentrated hard enough. However her brow arched as he asked his question, he was very serious today. "Not just assassins. We were being trained in an operation titled 'Black Shadow' we were to be agents for queen and country as it were. We were a two woman army; stealth is my strong suit, I can blend in, become anyone, and meld into shadows. Noire can kill anything she touches if so she wishes, and she is nearly indestructible, and is the faster of us. We were bred to be unstoppable monsters, the last line of defence. Ravenholm is a training ground for would-be Shadow Agents." She sighed, "though not everyone survived the testing. There were...procedures..." She glanced away, she didn't want to tell him about project Diablo... about the abominations the scientists created... the half-man half animal creatures that were left behind from the experiments, and the murderous training they were put through... --- Leon stared at her, bloody women! Yesterday she hated him, today she wanted to go on a damned date with him!!! He was utterly stumped. On her comment, he was snapped back to reality, "Ah, yes... well of course." He muttered and stood, going to see Maggie about somewhere he could wash up. She agreed and showed him the bathroom. He washed his face and even managed to sort of tame his shoulder-length hair. Maggie retrieved a crisp white shirt for him that she insisted he wear, despite his many protests. Once he had cleaned himself up he stepped back out intot he main cafe, he stepped over to Noire and offered his arm, "my lady, I am happy to be your escort this morning." He offered a dashing smile, having partly recovered from the shock of her cooperation. "Is there a particular sight or experience I can interest you in?" He asked. |

"You sure it's not for anything bigger?" Aidan asked. "Honestly, I'd put my money on the possibility that you and those raised like you were to take over the capital, Erebus. Hell knows that even the queen's army is having trouble taking over the city. They've got other cities they've yet to take over, but for some reason, they've been focusing on that particular place." If he only he knew the reason for it. Was there something there? And how the hell has the resistance been able to keep the army at bay? He blinked in realization and then laughed sheepishly. "Aw man, I'm so sorry. I guess we're both terrible for table conversation. I brought you out here for breakfast, not for business. Hey, I got an idea to make up for it. It's something I think you'd enjoy. I almost forgot about it til now." --- Noire blinked, thinking that was fast. She eyed his arm warily, taking it as she stood. "I don't know. I don't know this place." Even Ravenholm didn't teach her and Shae much on what each city was like, only to be prepared for it. |
