Rubi nodded. "Good. With the remote, we can shut off all the security of the basement. Except of the safe itself. You see, the door is made of thick steel and heavy mechanisms. We have to blow the door, since finding out the code is impossible." Noire smirked a little. Taking notice, the captain asked, "What is it?"

Noire adopted a strangely all-business tone, "What is the door made of and how thick?"

Everyone blinked before looking from her to Rubi. Angling her head, Rubi replied, "On both sides of the door is two inches. The inside is hollow for the locking mechanism. I believe it's just regular steel."

The girl scoffed. "It's fine. You won't need to make a ruckus and blow the door. I can get it open." Seeing the sceptical looks, she raised a hand, fingers lengthening into points as it hardened with a blackness. Anxiously, they watched as she gripped the railing and crushed it effortlessly. "Proof enough?" she asked coldly.

Rubi didn't seem surprised. She still remembered when they were children how strong Noire's grip was. It usually resulted in the breaking of many toys because she had no control over her strength yet.

"Show off..." Shaede teased Noire, her voice low so as none of the others could hear. She did seem to like scaring the humans... she would do so to most other test subjects and doctors that would come by in the facility, her cold demeanour would keep people away. However Shaede had taken to being friendly... before stabbing the offender in the neck. Though after the second one, they figured out to keep her leashed and bound.

"If you like we could take care of it ourselves," she smirked, "we do have the training," She shrugged. She glanced over at Aiden once more, He had not appeared to have moved, Shaede frowned slightly. Why was she worrying? What did this human matter? It was not likely that he would care about her...

"We could, but would you be able to carry the loot out all by yourself in a timely manner? That's what all the disguised guards are for. Now, once the loot is secured and taken upstairs, it'll be your job to make sure they're not stopped along the way to loading up the truck. If there's any unwanted company, knock them out. Then once that's done, there will be the actual people to rob from."

Finally, Aidan made a sound, much like a grunt. "And once again, you're going to make a show of it."

Rubi just smiled. "Now, now, Aidan, you can't tell me you don't enjoy the thrill of it a little." The pilot just scoffed, a soft smile on his features. "Myself, Shaede, and Noire will return to the party to avoid suspicion, then McKay will shut off the lights. Now Shaede, here's the bigger part I mentioned. You have to submerge the entire room, and we'll snatch whatever jewels from their persons." She paced a little. "And that's when we take our leave. After the heist, we'll load everything on the ship and depart the city. From there on, we'll be going to the continent of Iluka."

Noire blinked again. "What's in Iluka?"

Again, Rubi smiled. "You'll see. Well, that about covers everything. Get back to work. Except you three, c'mere," she said, pointing to the girls and Leon. When everyone was gone to their stations, she said, "We'll need fake names. I'll be Scarlet Volpe."

Noire thought about her name. "I don't know what I should choose..."

Rubi grinned. "Catrina." Noire blinked, then blushed. "That name has always suited you, so it's what you'll use. But your last name can be...hell, why not, we're cousins. Might as well make our last names similar. Renard. What about you two?" she asked the siblings.

Shaede's ears almost twitched when Rubi asked her to cloak them in darkness... a sinister smirk crossed her lips, it would be good to relax and not have to worry about straining herself to keep her powers in check. She would be able to let loose! She folded her arms to keep from doing do already, it would not do to upset the already edgy crew.

She was actually surprised when Aiden spoke up, she had half expected him to be asleep where he stood. He did not seem to approve if Rubi's antics and showmanship... she smiled briefly in amusement before returning to her cool neutral expression.

After the rest of the Crew left, Shaede approached slowly, she did not have to think long about a false name,

"Heather and Connor Flannigan," both Shaede and Leon said in unison, they turned to look at each other,

"I'm surprised you remember," Leon mused, with a raised eyebrow.

"Not much escapes me dear brother," Shaede responded dryly, folding her arms.

"Duly noted," he nodded as they turned back to Rubi.

"Alright," Rubi said, satisfied. "The four of us will arrive on an automobile that McKay will drive. Because he's cheap and doesn't bother to buy a decent suit, he'll be playing as our driver, slash, servant. He'll be sneaking in through the servant's entrance. That's about all the details I've got left to say. Now, homework for you two," she said, pointing to Leon and Noire. "I want you two to get your engagement story straight. How you met, when you fell in love, who and how one proposed, certain details about one another like favourite colours, foods, hobbies, interests. That sort of stuff. Get it straight before tomorrow evening. People will be asking you these sorts of questions and will expect you two to know intimate things about one another. Go!"

Noire blushed. Intimate details???

Rubi smiled. "Relax, dear cousin, they can be false details. Okay, now I'm gonna go and get you girls those rooms you're waiting for." And with that she walked out.

Noire glanced at Shaede as she followed after the McKay fellow, who had left the bridge a moment after Rubi, then turned her gaze to Leon. She swallowed, not sure what to do or say, and he was just standing there, looking back at her with a smile of uncertainty. She frowned, half-glaring at him. Deciding she'd rather ignore Rubi's assignment, she started to head out, noticing immediately that he was following her. He must be assuming that she was just going somewhere more private for them to talk. He would have been half-right, but it wasn't to talk. It was to get away from the awkwardness. He was Shae's brother--she didn't know how to deal with him!

After a couple of minutes of wandering the ship, she finally got fed up and turned around to face him in the corridor. Might as well get it over with. "Where's your room?" she asked. To answer, he led the way and she followed, and when they got there, the door shut, she decided to reside against the wall with her arms crossed.

Aidan finally moved, having lagged a bit since Rubi dismissed everyone else. Sigh, and he still had much work to do. He decided to head for the cargo hold, not realizing that someone was following him, since his senses had gone completely sluggish by this point. The place was spacious enough for many large objects, and maybe fifty crates of supplies, but hardly lit, everything strapped down tightly against the walls and to the floors.

He walked up to one large object covered in a tarp. Unbuckling the straps, he soon tore off the tarp, revealing a black automobile that looked much like a box horse carriage. Inside could seat four to six people, while the driver's seat sat in the open of the air. Regardless of the tarp, dust still managed to settle on the vehicle. He'd have to give it a quick clean up after he checked the engine and everything else. Just in case. It wasn't until after he popped open the hood and stuck his head inside that he noticed Shaede was next to him. He yelped in surprise, patting his chest, willing his rushing heartbeat to slow down.

"Bloody hell!" he exclaimed.

Leon watched curiously as Noire wandered off, she said nothing but her expression told him she was not pleased. He decided as awkward as it was, it was better to get it over with now rather than later. He was curious to know more about her, but he didn't like to be forced to do so.

After a short walk she spun on her heel and demanded where his room was, he raised an eyebrow at her brisk tine but simply gestured with his hand and turned left down a corridor to the living quarter of the ship.

His room was not fancy, a basic wooden interior, but large enough, upon entering he closed the heavy oak door behind him and turned to his cabinet, and poured them both drinks. Hopefully it would settle his mind.

"So..." he began, "Connor's family is that of merchants and traders, successful ones too. So he has quite a bit of money. He frequents parties to build partnerships but hasn't the patience for the rabble. His favourite colour is dark green, he likes collecting cars and bikes and has invested in his own airship. His favourite food is mashed potatoes with garlic and his main interest is doting on his fiance." He took a drink after his long speech and glanced up at her, "i realise this is... less than ideal so if there are boundaries you would like to set in place now, feel free to do so... just bear in mind this ruse has to be convincing."

-
Shaede decided to follow the pilot out of curiousity, he dragged his feet and didn't even seem to notice her. She frowned, had she wished, she could have killed him three times now and he'd not even known what hit him. Foolish. He should be alert at all times, he would be the weak link that would get them killed or worse; captured tomorrow night.

On reaching the cargo hold, He ripped off the dust cover to a black and shiny vehicle. Shaede's eyes widened in admiration. She had only seen one before, and she was not allowed near it... but this... she wanted to drive this!

He popped the bonnet and Shaede poked her head into have a look at the engine. She gave a whistle of approval and he jumped about three feet in the air. Had he only just noticed her?? She glanced at him with an arched brow before leaning in to look in the engine bay, hands clasped at her back.
"This is a 300C!" She exclaimed, "how the hell did you get your hands on one of these?"

Noire watched him and listened, eyeing the drink as he handed it to her. Reluctantly, she took it, sampling a little. She wasn't sure if she liked it or not, but it would do. She walked towards his porthole window, peering out of it into the docking hangar. So many people were still up and about at this time of day, but it was finally growing dark with night approaching. Sighing, she put the drink on a nearby surface and reached up to take her hair down. Once free, it released the tension in her scalp as she ran fingers through the silk strands, rubbing at her scalp some with her fingertips.

Though she had been trained to conjure up a fake profile and back story, she just didn't feel like making one up. When he asked about boundaries, she replied, "Don't hold my hands. If I'm surprised, or if I suddenly feel threatened or uncomfortable, I may end up breaking yours."

That wasn't the only reason, she mused while staring at her hands. She didn't admit it out loud, but she was severely self-conscious about them. Crossing her arms again, she continued to stare out the window. Still, she wasn't up to coming up with some kind of intricate story. Maybe a profile that actually had some truth to it. As long as he didn't know it had anything to do with her, then she wouldn't feel embarrassed or anything. Maybe.

"Catrina..." she began with a quiet voice. She couldn't believe Rubi actually called her by that name. Noire had forgotten about it til now. "Catrina is an orphan who was adopted by a wealthy family. Her favourite colour is light blue, and she's quite fond of snowdrops and bluebells. She also collects small glass figurines." Just mentioning it brought back the memory of the one she broke just before she was taken away.

-

Aidan blinked owlishly at Shaede for a moment, having taken the moment to calm down. Sighing, he looked at the car. "Long story short, we stole it," he replied simply before leaning over the engine again. Grunting, he stood back again and walked a bit away to grab a lantern and then hang it off the hood, switching it on. "We got this back in one of the outer cities close to Erebus. The owners was this snooty rich couple. Rubi and I spotted them verbally abusing this homeless kid who was just asking for some money for food. We didn't like their attitude too much, so we took their car after the driver left. We found the kid and the community he was part of, gave them food, water, blankets, clean clothes, and a decent amount of money to help them get back on their feet."

He looked up at her then with a tired smile. "We don't take kindly to those who turn their noses up at those they deem less than them." He walked over to a nearby grated locker, turning the combination dials until it clicked open and he reached in, taking a few tools out and walking back over. "We stopped in once or twice to check on them, and like we hoped, they're doing relatively well. They support each other, which is what I like to see. Although whenever we make friends, we also make enemies. Ah, c'est la vie." He began tightening bolts and such, then checked the spark plugs, giving them a tiny zap each.

As he did so, he felt a bit more of his strength drained away. Bloody hell, this always happened! He paused, squeezing his eyes shut as he pinched between them. Sighing, he blinked open his eyes, his face now looking slightly strained as he continued to work. With Shaede watching him, he became a little more conscious of the fact of how tired he appeared and felt and tried to appear as though he wasn't bothered by anything, even though he was certain she could already tell. Ah hell, who was he trying to kid?

Finishing up, he made sure she was clear before taking out the lantern and tools and shutting the hood. Everything seemed to be in order. Even the oil was still clean. He put everything away then turned to her. She was watching him carefully, gauging him. He only knew that because he'd be doing the same thing if the roles were reversed.

"I've been overcharged," he said suddenly. When she gave him a puzzled look, he smiled and explained further, "Last night's storm put me in a state of overcharge. Receiving those bolts of lightning is a bit of a double-edged sword for me. I can absorb and redirect, but it's usually quite dangerous. If I don't expel the extra juice, it gives me a little punch to my powers, but it strains the body, leaving me in an insomniac state. It last for about a day, usually." He shrugged a little, failing to mention one other little fact. Something he wasn't willing to stick in her head. If he absorbed too much without expelling the electricity, it would undoubtedly kill him. It already nearly happened once, and he was out like a light for two weeks.

Leon nodded, though was disappointed when he spoke of her hands, they fascinated him, and he did wish to examine them, for more than medical reasons... Her hands looked soft and gentle, though he had seen the damage they could do. He wondered if she really would break his hands, she could, certainly... but would she? He glanced away and took a drink as he thought. His gaze snapped back to her as she spoke again however, smiling gently.

He tilted his head slightly and took in all the information, he wondered if anything else needed... ah... pet names... most couples had them.. he was hesitant to bring it up however as it may not e the best of ideas... it was unlikely Noire would take kindly to the idea. Leon glanced away again, he would wait a while before discussing it... though anything in regard to this was uncomfortable really...

"Can you dance?" he asked suddenly, standing, "It is a ball... if we aren't able... then we may be spotted as different..." He did not wish to push her, but if they fell over each other later in front of everyone, the fallout may be worse than just severe embarrassment.

-

Shaede looked back at him whilst he told the story of the car, hopping up to sit on one of the crates nearby to watch him work, She frowned as he poked around in the engine and reached for his head. He was tired, it was plainly obvious, and he looked exhausted, despite saying he was over charged. He seemed to shrug it off and her frown deepened. He was worse than she had first estimated... She leant over and caught his wrist in her had, his arm was firm and strong, but there was little resistance, as she pulled his hand close to her face to investigate it. His hands were dirty from the little grease and dust he had touched on the car, and what looked to be burn marks on his finger tips.

She jerked his arm making him come closer as she cupped his cheek, her eyes darting about looking at his face, her brows furrowed disapprovingly,
"You need sleep," she grumbled at him, looking into his eyes, they were dulled, "Your reaction time and perception are laughable, you drag your feet and you are helping noone by staying awake. Go to bed." she released him and folded her arms.

Aidan blinked as he was suddenly pulled closer to her. What was she doing all of sudden. Eyes widened a little in puzzlement as she brought a hand to his cheek. He was momentarily distracted by the coolness of her skin. It felt pleasant against his own naturally heated skin. When she released him, he realized that the place she touched still tingled somewhat. Well, this was new, he thought. He'd been with plenty of women where one or both parties made affectionate gestures, but never had his body reacted this way. It left him intrigued and wondering if it had to do with the fact she was a non-human like him. Though he wasn't educated in how two non-humans could react to one another, or if there was even a difference.

He didn't say anything, but knew she was right. He was exhausted, and the overcharge had actually stopped being the problem around lunch since he didn't take as much lightning on as he usually did. Sighing, he wiped his hands with a rag that was stuck in his belt. He still wanted to clean up the car a bit, but he supposed it could wait til tomorrow. Giving her a tired smile, he pocketed his hands and started to head out.

At the door, he looked over his shoulder at her, his face brightening a little with a warm and boyish grin. "I'm looking forward to seeing how you look in your new dress." And with that, he left.

-

Noire frowned as she finally turned to him, hair swinging a bit with the movement, the delicate waves hanging behind her like a cape. "We were trained in many things, including dancing. However...I had trouble with obedience and the teacher ended up with broken hands the second he touched me." With a sigh, her face softened slightly. "But yes, with Shae's instruction, I did learn." She watched him as he seemed hesitant to ask her about something else. "I also know the basics of a...romantic relationship. Isn't there some kind of custom of...nicknames?" she asked warily. Though she said she was familiar with the basics, she really only half-listened, not interested in the subject.

Shaede frowned as he left, and once he was out of sight, rubbed her hand on her trousers, she felt... strange. Her palms tingled and she wanted to rid herself of the feeling. It was out of place, she had no reason for it. Had he done something? She frowned yet again and decided to head to find out if Rubi had those rooms ready yet, she looked forward to getting changed.

--

Leon looked uncomfortable as she mentioned the nicknames,
"Ah. Yes..." he muttered, "well that is the common practice... I will... have to think of something..." he finished off his drink. He glanced around the room in thought... Catrina... well she was cat-like... and young... very cute...
"Kitten," he said suddenly, "how about kitten?"

The young girl blinked and heat rose to her cheeks some as she stared at Leon with big eyes. "Kitten?" They just stood there in silence, the both of them embarrassed. Of all the names she expected him to call her, it wasn't kitten. "Kitten..." she repeated. She was surprisingly not opposed to the name. "Fine," she said but gave pause. What the hell would she call him? Perhaps it depended on the character she was going to play. She could act like herself where she was most comfortable, but she could bet that Rubi expected her to play as delicate. "Prince," she decided. She could call him a Cub in relation to a lion, referencing his real name, but it didn't seem to fit. Maybe a Lion Prince, but she'd drop the lion bit. "Yeah...Prince."

A smile slowly crept across Leon's features, he gave a theatrical bow in her direction,
"Then allow me, dear Lady, to be your Prince Charming," he stated with a sudden Irish brogue. He looked back at her and chuckled to himself, before taking on a serious tone, "I want you to know, though you may not, and have no reason to trust me, I will not allow anyone to harm you. Though I do doubt you need me there for that, you are quite capable..." he paused, and thought he might try his luck. "Would you... mind if I were look at your hands?" He asked curiously.

Noire blinked, surprised by the request. Why was he so curious about that? She hesitated, but reminded herself of his compliment upon her capability to take care of herself. Damn straight, she thought. Never again would she allow anyone to take advantage of her again. Those that wronged her would die. Still, she was perplexed. Wordlessly, she held out her hands. As he reached out for them, she changed them into her black talons, a small playful smirk on her face as he looked up. She expected him to be scared of her. However, he didn't seem to flinch or show any sign of concern and that surprised her. Most people were scared of her, including Dr. Frost. After a particular incident, Frost never tried to get on her bad side again. But this man...

"You didn't specify which hands," she pointed out monotonously.

Leon smiled and sat beside Noire, "You're right I didn't specify, but you have read my mind," he felt a little excited, this was new to him, he had never seen anything like her hands, "they are beautiful..." he whispered, "if you feel uncomfortable or wish to stop, please do not hesitate to tell me." He took the black claw in his own large hands, they were firm, like steel and had a bumpy surface as though made of some sort of rock. They were fascinating it was an amazing scientific discovery, and those at Ravenholm squandered the information and tortured them? It was disgusting...
"How do you transform?" He asked softly, running his hands over hers as gently as he could, feeling the difference between the talons and her soft pink arms. "Do you just think and it happens? Or do you create a certain movement? Can you only transform your hands?" He had a million questions, and was thrilled she had let him handle her.

Heat filled her face as he complimented her hands. It should have bothered her, but all it did was embarrass her and she felt less inclined to feel threatened by him. She watched as he ran his fingers over her hardened skin and asked her how she did it and where else she could transform. To be honest, she didn't really have the answer to his first question. She didn't know how she was able to do it. She just did it. However, there was only way to describe it.

"Instinct," she decided. "I just do it by instinct. I've been consciously aware of it ever since I could remember. My earliest memory was when I was two, right before they took me away. I broke something I held precious. At the time, I wasn't transforming my hands yet, but they were still pretty strong for my age. During my time at Ravenholm, I was what they called a slow developer, but because my inhuman genes are of a physical sort instead of mental, they thought I was just as valuable as their top subjects. Even among those different, I turned out different. Ironic...isn't it?" she asked bitterly. "I don't know anyone else among my kind like me." She sighed, dazing off into her thoughts. "I can transform my feet if I want to. I just choose not to."
