Riley crossed her arms, impressed with how he handled the situation. Unfortunately, she was more likely to join in the fight. But perhaps avoiding such conflicts were more to her advantage. She glanced around, see the TRF officers, blinking. She'd never seen these kind of officers before. Her eyes returned to Caldroon and Jethro when they made their violent exchange, but when she went to look at the mystery guards, they were gone.

"What the...?" She shook her head before looking at Jethro again. "I suppose I should go with the Doc here to fix his computers, huh?"

Jethro walked towards her.

"I suppose, have work to fill out now anyway. if you have time to afterwards return to my office."

With that he simply walked past them and towards his office as if nothing had happened at all.

"Hal have a cup of coffee waiting for me when I get there."

While hal didn't appear his acknowledgement seemed to echo in the immediate area.

Riley just nodded. She watched as a few guards carried Caldroon while following behind Dr. Tran. She immediately followed alongside him, instantly receiving a dirty look from the guards. Ignoring them, she followed him to Medical Bay. When he pointed out the equipment, she simply ventured over, taking up a seat. She looked at the coding, looking horrified. "Can I bitch slap those engineers? No wonder the programs aren't working. This is gonna take awhile. Any top priority programs you want me to work on first, Doc?"

"Well if you could get the scanners working right that would be an excellent start. from there get the medical laser guider aligned and the only other biggie is the medical dispenser, it's not giving the right dosages half the time and sometimes not even the right drug. as far as I know it's all coding issues."

He started to work on the mans arm with various tools on the table next to him. Jethro walked into his office and sat down at his desk and took a sip of his coffee. He expected a visit soon from the "other" security.

Riley just nodded, finding the target programs, glancing at other equipment as she corrected the coding. As she worked, she could feel the eyes on her from Caldroon. "Go ahead buddy...keep staring. I'd like to see how your other arm fairs from me breaking it. But I like the Doc there, so I don't want to give him more work to do." She glared at him. She may have been a bit juvenile, but she was a genius. She locked her eyes on Caldroon, half expecting him to come at her. She was testing him, especially with men with nontons in the room.

Meanwhile, Captain Aizawa walked up to Jethro's office, coat flapping behind him. He stood before Jethro's door, knowing Hal would announce his arrival.

"Jethro it seems Captain Aizawa would like to have a word with you, shall I let him in?"

Jethro smirked without looking up from his report.

"why of course Hal lets not keep him waiting."

The doors to Jethros office opened up to allow the Captain to walk in. Jethro decided to simply let him say whatever he wanted to before so much as speaking himself. Hal simply smiled at the captain as he entered but otherwise did nothing else.

The rigid captain promptly strode into the office, knowing full well that any argument with the major security captain would lead nowhere. However, despite this, knowing Jethro's company earlier has piqued interest, curious to why Jethro was being accompanied by a certain prisoner.

"Captain Hunt. Am I interrupting anything important?" Despite asking, he continued without waiting for a response. "As far as I am aware, I believe you had a prisoner in your company. And I can only assume she is not traditionally in your custody under normal means. What is the meaning of this?"

This time he allowed Jethro to answer.

Jethro placed his report on the desk and looked up at the captain.

"Care to take a seat? a drink perhaps? personally coffee is my go getter, or would you prefer something... red?"

He allowed his smile to fade as he leaned forward.

"I understand your concern regarding this... I assume you're going to be calling this a breach in security in your report? in any event she's doing service work on the colonies computer network and stations. programming here and there. she's loads better then our stationed IT department and actually does what I want her to do."

He leaned back into his chair and turned his chair slightly to the window behind him allowing a slight purple glow to hit both his right side and his chair.

"she's upped system production and fragmentation by twelve percent, upped security system integrity by almost thirty and that includes the automated riot suppressors, over half of them work now. she's constantly under close supervision and Hal monitors her twenty eight ten. Not to mention the fact that her updates to the security systems has allowed a faster response time to any situation."

he Simply glared at the captain.

"Now... unless you've come to me with some kind of life or death... or death or death situation. why don't you leave security operations and prison maintenance to the person who's actually in charge of it. I'm cutting cost by using prison population to solve it's own problems. if you want you can help out too but somehow I doubt you'll offer unless it's public execution services."

He picked up his report and started reading again.

"Dismissed."

Sessue watched him intently, not impressed by Jethro's remark on his condition. "Despite this, you have not followed proper procedure. I'm going to take a wild guess and say you have not informed the warden of this. He will be notified of this. There are reasons why we are not allowed to take prisoners under our wing. In fact, I was told this particular prisoner was to stay away from you, regardless of circumstances. Orders from the warden himself. You don't like it, take it up with him."

"because you're such a role model for proper procedure. Let me make something very clear Captain... regardless of what the warden says if I feel something needs to be fixed or if our security needs a little tweaking I am allowed to use whatever resources I deem necessary be it a pair of pliers or a persons help be them Archam Division staff or an inmate. this power which has been granted by the Archam head of staff himself who might I point out is the very same person who appointed the warden so if the warden has a problem with it he can take it up with Archam or myself and then Archam."

He stood up and faced his window.

"But if you insist on proper procedure the paperwork will be done within the hour, and one more thing. You go near her with any intent to harm I will personally put a bullet in your head got it? now get out of my office."

Taken aback by Jethro's disregard for the rules, Sessue could only remove himself from his presence, leaving silently, the only evidence of his departure being the sound of the doors opening and closing. He frowned to himself, concerned with Jethro's intentions. It's true what he said though. The girl had improved a lot of the systems. But at the same time, she was dangerous, and Jethro likely knew that. This was a dangerous game Jethro was playing. And the protectiveness he conveyed also concerned him. However, if only he knew what that girl knew.

Later, Riley was finishing up in Dr. Tran's lab, realigning the laser. Once she finished with diagnostics, she cracked her knuckles. "Alright, Doc. Everything's finished. Though if things fuck up again, beat those guys from maintenance away with a stick. I will not have them messing around with my code. But I wouldn't worry too much. My code rarely, if ever, fucks up." A little cocky? Perhaps, but it was the truth.

Dr Tran smiled as he looked at the computers. He loved that things had finally gotten done with them.

"Thank you. I'll be sure to keep it easy on them just in case though."

As he moved over to one of the computers a group of guards walked in and stood in the doorway, guns drawn.

=====
=====

Jethro Simply placed his report back on his desk and stared out the window towards the sky, the purple glow making everything seem so surreal. the place was a bit of a hell hole and he figured whatever he could do to make it a little more enjoyable for both the guards and the inmates things might be a little easier on everyone, yes it was a prison but it was also a colony, much like Australia was on Earth back in the 1800.

After a few moments Hal appeared on the other side of the desk.

"you seem perplexed Jethro, is something wrong?"

Riley looked over expectantly, not surprised despite everything she's done that she would always be regarded as a prisoner. "Oh yay! Does this mean I get the threesome I've always wanted? Fantastic!" She stomped her foot and pointed dramatically. "To my room! My bed's small so you boys might have to take turns." She grinned, but her humour fell flat when the guards didn't respond or react. "Tough crowd... sheesh, how often do these guys go on leave for Earth to get laid?"

The Guards simply moved in to reveal they had another prisioner in tow being dragged in by two guards behind them. two of them moved over to the Doctor and Riley and blocked their path out as the rest went into another room. Dr Tran could hear the sounds of metal cracking against the man they had dragged in. No doubt beating him mercilessly with their weapons.

"Don't try and step in Riley, Not a dam thing we can do. I'll just have to fix him up when their done and if that's all their doing it'll be a good day.

Meanwhile in Jethros office Has seemed to stop and ponder for a moment.

"Curious... has miss Riley done any work on the security stations in the medical building?"

Jethro turned around and looked at Hal.

"Not that I'm aware of."

Hal glanced at Jethro.

"several ID tags going off, among them are Riley and of course the doctor, one other inmate and several guards. seems a bit odd."

Jethro moved over to his desk and opened the drawer and pulled out his side arm and started for the door.

"Hal make yourself known there and record everything you see. Get ID numbers."

Riley watched in slight horror. She herself may have been violent and angry, but never had she gone out of her way to beat someone while they are down. This whole thing was wrong. Sure the guy was a criminal, but did that mean they had to sink to their level? If there was anything more morally wrong than the people in prison, it was the guards themselves. She felt a little buzz behind her, looking over her shoulder to see Hal. Stepping out of his line of view, she watched him do what he was told to do.
