Sessue addressed him. "Do what you need to do, but right now, I need to go to my office." He turned to Jethro. "You've already got your plan sorted out, but this is a necessity for me and Van. I'll try to meet you at the generators as soon as possible." Riley was still working on the computer before calling out. "Hal, sorry pal, but looks like you're gonna have to do most of the work for now." She stood up before joining Jethro outside. Sessue considered the girl before looking at Jethro. "Perhaps you should arm the girl since you trust her." Riley cringed suddenly, before backing away, speaking louder than necessary. "I don't want your fucking guns! Keep them away from me!" |

He nodded at the three other men who would be coming. "Good, because you can't have one anyway, one no way to encode one to her and two I may trust her but she's still a prisoner of this facility. And one smart ass remark about that Sessue and we'll have words later. Lets go." Him and the others started for the elevator shaft and started their descent down to the main floor, it would take them less then five minutes to get to the first access hatch and assuming they were clear less then half an hour to get to the first reactor, of course Kelvin and the others would be splitting off at some point but it was only for a short time. |

Riley was surprisingly silent during the trip while Sessue got ahead of them. "I'll meet you all later. Good luck." And with another swish, he broke off from them, disappearing down a different path after they reached the first hatch. "Where's he going?" Riley asked. |

"He's going to tend to a need of him and his men, he'll meet us there." When they got to the service hatch he opened it and let Kelvin head in first. once they were all inside Jethro looked around. He had forgotten there were so many tunnels linked to the main one, he knew the way but this meant it would be all the easier to attack from anywhere, it made for uneasy and slightly slower movement towards the reactor room. "So" Kelvin started. "You ever manually start a reactor before?" |

Riley blinked, realizing he was taking to her. So far, he wasn't annoying, so there was no harm in answering him. "No, but if there's a terminal, I don't see how hard it could be. I once almost hacked into Homeland Security once." |

"As in Earth Homeland security? that must have taken some balls and serious talent." Jethro glared at him for a moment before speaking. "don't you three have an armoury to raid? next exit on the right." Kelvin nodded and motioned for the other two to follow him. once they had branched off Jethro quickened his pace a little. it would only take them a few minutes to reach the room now and the quicker they secured it the safer they were. "By the way this is perhaps the only place in the entire facility where Hal cannot help us or even scan us. which means that when you're on that terminal it'll be your only link to him. it's also an unsecured network so anyone can listen in but not tamper with what you're doing, so be careful in what you transmit." |

"I see." She grinned almost seductively. "What's wrong? Don't like your men complimenting me?" She shrugged, smiling. "I have a feeling he was flirting with me too before you interrupted him. Too bad for him that I'm way out of his league." A pause. "Are we there yet?" |

"if he or his men become distracted it increases their chance to get caught off guard and ambushed. I don't need that... you don't need that... and I really really hate paperwork and there will be a lot of it should anything happen to them." He looked at the reactor entrance as they arrived to it. "Paperwork makes me very unhappy and when I'm unhappy everyone is." He said to himself as he carefully opened the door and made sure no one was inside. Once inside himself he made sure Riley was in before closing the door and starting to set up a few makeshift barricades. "Alright terminal is over there" He went over and typed in his password. "Alright you have full access to the reactor controls, start it off slowly then gradually bring the power back. too much at once and you'll blow the relays." |

"I may have not done this before but I'm not stupid, I know how power grids work." She stood at the terminal, already beginning her keystroke dance. "So, we're completely shutting it down and restarting? Is that the jist of it?" |

"More like just restarting it." He said as he pushed a few more heavy crates into a barricade formation. when the rest of the group arrived he'd already have some of the area set up and ready for any kind of barrage. It should only be a few minutes before Kelvin and the other two got there but he wasn't sure how long Sessue was going to take. He pulled his weapon and checked the power level on it. maybe enough for fifteen shots. "well at least no knows we're down here." |

Riley scoffed, eyes darting back and forth. "Chances are my rivals do know. But they can't hear or see us in here. Hopefully they don't know because Robin serves another purpose. It looks for any outside signals and shuts them down." Silence swallowed the air except for the sound of her typing. It was an uncomfortable silence she couldn't stand. "So..." she began, "Any family back home?" She already knew about his son, but something compelled her to ask anyway. He'd probably just blow her off and tell her to mind her own business. She prepared for it. |

Jethro didn't even look at her as she asked the question and showed no signs of emotion to it either. "No... Not any more." He turned and looked at her. "But you knew that already didn't you. You had Hal run a search on Him after I gave you clearance to use him and you knew that search would put a red flag on my desk. You knew I'd have been notified that you requested the files. So this becomes my question. What was your involvement with him?" He was satisfied with the barricade and turned his body to face her directly. "More Directly I want to know if you're the reason he's dead." |

There was a pause during her typing. Of course he got a flag. It wasn't like she hacked her way to the information. She had asked, and Hal only indulged her. Still, the cold tone in his voice had nearly caused her to turn and face him herself. No, she wouldn't do that, she couldn't face him yet. The memories of a nightmare flooded her thoughts, and her eyes...she blinked rapidly, clearing her throat. "Cilly and Carlos took me in, found me on the street, raised me like I was their sister." She hesitated, having to blink again, force back the memories. "Taught me their trade. I was pretty happy...once. A raid was about to happen, and they hid me away just before the door blew open. Overkill, using an explosive on a door. They didn't have time to get out, knew I couldn't keep up with them, so they hid me." To distract herself, she began typing again, but more furiously, her tone growing bitter. "They shot them on sight, in cold blood. Cops used to mean nothing to me, just obstacles for those two." The shakes wouldn't stop, her body wracked with fury and pain. The more she tried to restrain those shakes, the more her back and shoulders hurt with the strain. It was like trying not to shiver in winter. "Cops used to mean nothing to me," she said once more, "but what they did was completely..." she just shook her head. "Cops...I hate them, every one. Cilly and Carlos died by cops with no regards for human life. I ran right out of there, bullets flying past me. I don't remember how long I ran. I was sixteen when they were murdered. I think it was raining that day. I was caught on a day it rained before coming here. I hate rain," she said softly, "almost as much as I hate those who claim justice. If they hadn't hid me, I'd be dead too, but it's because they hid me they're dead. I live with that everyday." She turned to face him then, face vacant. "I'm fine with you blaming me as well. Finding out you're Cilly's old man, I was surprised a little. God," she began, pulling her bangs behind her ears, "you're the embodiment of something I resent and love at the same time. After I knew who you were, I can't...unsee Cilly at all when I look at you, and it pisses me off." Turning back to the monitor, she resumed her task. "I'll say this...I hate you and respect you all at once." She paused. "Now that you know, can I focus on the task at hand?" |

Jethro nodded as she spoke. when she was finished he left it alone for a moment before speaking again though it was as if he wasn't really speaking to her at times but rather to nothing at all. "He wasn't a bad kid. Very much the opposite. kind, caring, gifted and very very smart. it was because of me that he ran away in the first place. he was very protective of those he liked. he started working on computers at a young age got very talented at programming and repairing and building and all that other stuff. One day he found a back door into Archams Privet information database by accident but they took it as an attack. He knew they'd come to us and we'd both be here as inmates ourselves, instead he ran. left a digital trail for them to follow then disappeared. Never saw him again." He took a breath. "He'd send me a message every birthday. when I got into the police force a few years afterwards they wanted me to track him down and I said okay. Figured I'd lead them in the wrong direction if they ever got to close, it didn't take me long to find out he'd been watching me very closely himself. when he finally did disappear completely if I recall the file. was roughly the same time he met you. He found something more important to protect then me and as such he made a point to disappear from me completely. A little later He turned up dead." He checked the corridor for a few moments to make sure it was still clear. "I read all the reports on the raid, saw the video feed on it. it wasn't what they said. after that I requested a transfer of position and got this role and then you show up. I don't blame you for his death and the fact he found reason to protect you means there is a reason for me to do the same. not all of us are bad." |

Riley said nothing. Despite her erratically thinking mind, she couldn't think of one damn thing to say. Somehow though, she felt relief. Then a question surfaced, as she had asked herself time and again...why did they hide her? Why was she even worth protecting? Family, she thought. Though she once didn't believe in it since she was abandoned by her parents, meeting Cillian and Carlos had changed her mind. At first, she didn't trust them. They didn't push on her, only fed her, clothed her, put a roof over her head, and if she asked for something like a movie, they pirated it and sat down to watch it with her. Then her curiosity of the global net they spent living in had grabbed her. At first she didn't understand their fascination with it, but her high IQ had allowed her to learn the basics of hacking...then began her first steps following after them. She must have known then that they were family to her. When they died and she ran, she didn't want to end up like them. She took up freerunning for just that reason. A little trial and error, then she was avoiding the cops, running like the wind. She had stayed out of allied circles on the web. That sort of pain was not something she wanted to relive again, though she had consulted a few aspiring hackers. Though Riley made no friends, her kind was still legion...with the few black sheep. While deep in her thoughts, the lights blinking in the room began to flicker more rapidly before the sound of shutting down was heard, the only light source being from the monitor itself. A couple more keystrokes, including re-entering Jethro's login, and she was in again, rebooting the system. "Viola, again I astound myself with my genius." |
