The static echoed over the bridges speakers for a moment before the signal cleared up. “US….. Adams under heavy atta… power failing, shields offline… any ship… distress.” The signal cut out as Captain Terra shifted in the captains’ chair. “Set course for the USS Adams maximum warp, Raise shields and weapons all hands prepare for battle. This is a red alert people, this is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill.” The ship sped into warp towards the direction of the distress call as the hands of the ship prepared for what could be a dangerous battle with the Romulans, it would only have been a few minutes before the ship reached its destination and dropped out of warp. On the bridge the view screen was showing the USS Adams taking a heavy beating by a Romulan battle cruiser. Terra stood up and moved over to the helm station and leaned over the helmsmans shoulder. “Raise the Adams… tactical, lay down some phaser fire on the Romulan ship lets see if we can’t get his attention.” She waited for a moment until the shit established an audio connection with the Adams. “USS Adams, this is Captain Rachel Terra of the Aeon, Hold on for as long as you can we’ll do what we can to get this Romulan off you.” The Aeon moved closer to the battle as it opened fire on the other ship. The first few hits only marked the hull as the next few ruptured its warp nacelles causing the ship to start to veer off course. A few more phaser hits disabled the ship. “Captain we’re being hailed by the Adams, audio only.” Terra nodded as the ships transmission connected. “We can’t thank you enough captain, they came out of nowhere and got a few lucky shots on us. We can move under impulse power but that’s about it. Can we get an escort back to the nearest space dock?” Terra looked at the ship through the view screen, it was badly damaged. Flames protruded from the hull, one of their nacelles was leaking plasma and large fragments of their hull were missing entirely. “Starbase three is only a few light years away, we’ll see you safely there. Make as many repairs as you can along the way. Aeon out.” The signal was cut as the two ships slowly began to make their way back to the nearest Starbase unaware of the two cloaked war birds following them. Captain Terra moved back to the captains’ chair and sat down, she knew chances were that there was another ship out there somewhere which meant dropping their shields for any reason would give whoever was out there a free shot on them, they already would get one on the Adams since they had no shields. “Captain approaching planet Serione, sensors are also picking up a cosmic disturbance of unknown origin and growing stronger by the second.” This ships lights and computer panels started to flicker and fade. Terra hit a button on her chair and activated the ships com system. “Engineering report.” There was a short pause before the chief engineer spoke. “The hell if we know what it was captain but it almost knocked the entire power grid out, we’re down to life support, impulse engines and auxiliary power. I can only imagine the Adams is in the same position as us maybe worse but it’s affected everything on this ship even things like tricorders and pads are useless at the moment. We can get our power grid up in about ten minutes but we can give you sensors now if we reroute some of the minor functioning systems.” “Do it, Terra out.” The ships Lights slowly came back on but they were very dim as did some of the systems on the bridge. “Captain sensors are back online and are reporting two uncloaked birds of pray, both currently disabled in the same way as us, Captain their ships are less sophisticated then ours it won’t take them long to get their power back… we’ll be sitting ducks at a shooting range, it all comes down to who can get their power up first.” Terra looked at the view screen, which currently displayed the two birds of pray. As the minutes dragged on the tension was rising. “What do we know about these types of ships?” Terra inquired, wondering how much damage they could do should they get power first. “They’re both 22nd century birds of pray, used mainly for stealth, they only have basic disrupters, with shields they’re no threat to us but they can do some damage to us without them.” Terra looked back at the view screen and watched as one of the other ships power cam back online. “Anytime now engineering.” She watched as the other one came back up and started moving towards her ship. Both opened fire almost at the same time, at first only scorching the hull plating but then removing small bits of it. The ship rattled with the hits. The ship took constant hits for minutes before things started becoming serious. Fires started on multiple decks as well as hull breaches on others. Terra watched the screen as the Adams recovered power and started moving a little. It’s phasers opened fire on the closes bird of pray nearly destroying the ships left nacelle causing a small concussion wave. The Adams power fluctuated for a moment before faltering and failing completely, Terra watched as it slowly started to drift towards the planets surface. “Captain sensors indicate the Adams is powerless and entering an uncontrolled orbit. We also can’t keep taking these poundings captain.” “Captain power has been restored but shields remain offline, we have weapons.” Terra leaned forward in her chair. “Destroy them!” The Aeon started to move slowly before opening fire on the closes bird of pray. A first few well-placed shots destroyed the ship completely; its concussion wave blew fragments off the Aeons hull causing small hull breaches and fires. “Captain phasers offline” “Fine we don ‘t need them anyway, we still have a working torpedo bank, fire at will.” A single torpedo launched from the Aeon, they watched as the bird of pray did the same thing and then started a collision course for the Aeon. “Full reverse! Back us up!” The Aeon started to move slowly backwards as its torpedo slammed into the back of the bird of pray while their torpedo simply flew by. The bird of pray started to break up and explode. Debris flew towards the Aeon at an accelerated speed. “Captain most of that debris is coming directly at the bridge, estimated time till impact at 30 seconds!” Terra stood up and quickly moved over to the helm station. “All personal clear the bridge now!” Within a moment the bridge had been cleared as Terra franticly punched in commands to get the ship further out of harms way for after the bridge was hit, she knew she wasn’t walking away from this one. A moment later a large piece of the prays hull hit the bridge dome cutting a way through it and slamming directly into the middle of the bridge immediately followed by several other pieces causing the bridge to explode into a massive fireball. The ship was thrusted into a different direction for a few moments before finally slowing down and stopping, dead in space. Several months later: Several of the federations Admirals sat around a table, all with the same personal folder in front of them, the title read “personal folder: Captain Jade” they each looked at it, none of them too particularly fond of the captain in question. “We have to replace the Aeons Captain with someone.” “True but with him? 8 court martials in the last 5 years alone.” He opened the file. “Fighting, disobeying orders, Theft of Federation vehicles namely a shuttlecraft, unauthorized contraband… the list goes on, he’s a bad apple who’ll set a bad example of what the Federation stands for.” “No one is arguing that however he shows an amazing ability to command and gets along with just about anyone. Not to mention that we need a young face in the Captain chair, look past his faults or better yet look at them in a brighter light. He was usually the defender in most of those fights; He stole a shuttlecraft to save a friend of his who got stuck in the middle of an asteroid field, His contraband was Romulan Ale in almost every case of which he acquired to serve to his Vulcan friends during a particularly tough time and as I recall admiral Forrest his acquired romulan ale helped you get through a rather tough peace negotiation with the Romulans, the point I’m trying to make is that he’s willing to do what it takes get things done and we can use that. I submit that you look past those flaws and give him the Aeon. He deserves it and it needs a new captain and crew. “He is a menace-“ “I recall you saying exactly the same thing about Captain Kirk and his list of offences is by far longer then Jades.” “Yes, he’s blatantly violated the prime directive on several occasions, nearly caused three interplanetary wars. Disobeyed Direct orders, Violated the Genesis law in the hopes of maybe finding his first officer and may I point out his little time traveling fun of his? Oh and of course tackling of the Federations president at a major event” “most captains have violated it at some point, and the key work is nearly caused and due to the Genesis secrecy no such law officially existed and if you’ll recall his little time traveling saved us not to mention countless planets and ships from total destruction from that probe and his tackle of the president resulted in saving his life from an assassin of which your security failed to catch. Now if anyone other then Admiral Forrest here objects do so now otherwise give him the ship and a new crew and give him a standard five year exploration mission if you’re still not satisfied then, then and only then may you request a hearing to replace him. Now if that’s all I’m late to see my daughter at her dance recital, she’s performing a Traditional Andorian wedding dance. Good day.” |

Eyes widdened on a small female's face as her eyes landed up the starcraft that she had been assigned too. Mouth was slightly ajar as she stood in shock and perhaps awe. 'Never have I been on such a vessel before.' She swallowed some, pushing dark auburn hair out of her face as she just looked around. Fingers tightened their grip on a strap that was over her shoulder which was attached to a bag on her back. Inhaling, deeply, she looked at the time before heading off to where she was supposed to. Apparently a meeting of some sort for all crew members to meet the captain of the ship. At that meeting place, another woman was already standing there while people were starting to pile in. All muttering to themselves about rumors they had heard about which captain had been picked for the Aeon. Black eyes stared at everyone while long, curled black hair had been tied up rather elegently. A betazed which wasn't hard to figure out. She remained silent while she watched everyone pile in still. Seemed there was a lot of them. She seemed uninterested in actually being there, but then again, there were a few who didn't seem to impressed about being there. |

Alex stood in the observation room where all the main officers were supposed to wait for the new Captain. Like Alex no one had been told who was assigned Captain of the Aeon, it was seemingly a big secret from everyone on board the ship. Alex looked around the room to see several other officers there all likely having the same thoughts in their heads. there was still however a single officer missing still. As long as they showed up before the Captain was here they'd be fine. After a few minutes a whistle noise sounded in the room as the voice of the comms officer echoed in the room. "Sorry to bother you Mr. Callister but the Captain is now en-route to the ship and should be arriving within the next half hour." Alex walked over to the nearest Comm station and pressed a button. "Very well Ensign... we are however still missing an officer down here. Where are they?" There was a short pause before the man spoke again. "not sure Sir, it's the chief medical officer though." Alex nodded before responding. "Alright, as soon as you can contact them and tell them to get here on the double, the Captains early." |

Feet rounded the corner as the Cheif Medical Officer rounded it. her auburn hair flying behind her before she skidded into the room with the mass of people. Panting, slightly, she worked her way through the crowd. She would have stood after a while and caught her breath. She was aware that she was the last person there, but that was okay. Eyes glanced around as she just kept herself silent and waited with the others. |

Alex watched as the chief Medial officer walked in. "you're cutting it close Doctor, the captain hasn't arrived yet though so you seem to be safe." Just then the door opened again as an ensign stepped in, He had a black eye and a few cuts scattered on his face. He snapped to attention. "Mr. Callister the Captain is approaching, he's two decks below. just thought you should know." Alex walked up to him. "Thank you Ensign but what the hell happened to you? we haven't even left space dock yet and already there's been a fight?" "No sir thats from last night, several officers and myself got into a fight with a Captain. you think we look back you should see him and relax sir we've already spoken to the Admiral about it." Alex looked at him again. "Fine, when we leave you and any other member on this ship involved are to Report to sickbay and have the doctor look at it." He glanced at the Doctor who had just arrived. "that is if you're ready to start accepting patients. Dr?" |

The Doctor looked up before blinking slightly. She then glanced at the Ensign before nodding with a small smile. "Of course, Mind you, the visit might be a little longer as I get used to the sickbay, but that is alright." She said with a slight giggle. She had a soft and rather pretty voice considering and she didn't really look that old. But old enough one could guess if she was there to be the chief medical officer. |

The ensign nodded. "Yes sir" and promptly left the room. Alex looked at the doctor and smiled. "seems the sickbay has gotten a whole new face lift, state of the art Doctor. you should be able to have a little medical fun in there." He was about to keep speaking as the door slid open again and an ensign stepped in. "Captain on Deck!" He sidestepped ton the side of the door and stood at attention as did everyone else in the room. A rather beat up man walked in and looked around. There were several cuts on his face as well as a few bruises and as anyone may have been able to guess, many bruises elsewhere too but the uniform kept them hidden. The man took a few more steps in and stopped. "At ease... welcome to the Maiden voyage of the Aeon after it's massive refit. I know most of you aren't here by choice but we needed the officers and some of you were readily available. Much like the enterprise the Aeon has been called a flying deathtrap and a beacon for danger. thats not likely to change however we will see many things most ships or people have never seen. so if you want off... Nows the time to do it." |

The Doctor nodded as she heard about the fun she might have in the Sickbay but was silent for when the Captian was speaking when he came in. Duina just glanced over and looked at the floor as she listened. She had perfect control of her ablities and just stood in sheer silence. Not that she really wanted to be there, but being a betazed had it's uses and that is why she was recruited to be on this ship. |

the man looked around at the officers standing there. All senior bridge crew and general bridge crew as well as the ships medical staff and finally those who weren't really part of the ships crew but there with specific duties and responsibilities. The only crew there that not part of the listed above were the ships kitchen staff who had just finished preparing a sort of party snacks and other various kinds of foods from many different cultures. "I'm Captain Micheal Raymius Jade, please everyone enjoy yourselves for the time being, we leave space dock in four hours and run system checks in three, so take the time to relax, enjoy the food and get to know each other a little bit. thats all for now, dismissed." With that The Captain turned around and left the room leaving the officers and other crew to talk amongst themselves. He headed towards the turbo lift and pressed the call button at the terminal next to the doors and waited. |

The Doctor just looked around afterwards, inhaling as she had listened to what the captain had said. The food was perhaps what caught her attention more then anything else. She happened to be rather hungry, if not starved. Duina paid no mind to anything else as she simply pushed herself off the wall in one solid, fluid movement and started to walk off. She had time to do what she wanted and that was her plan. |

Alex walked about the room and made small chat with most of the officers before finally stopping by the doctor two drinks in his hand. He handed one to her and then took a sip of his own. "So what do you make of this ship? I've heard it's a bit of a flying deathtrap and one that seemingly loses a lot of their captains. think you're up to the challenge?" Down the corridor the turbo lift doors opened and Micheal walked in. "Bridge." the console inside the lift made a buzzing noise as the doors attempted to close but would not. Michael looked about the lift for a few moments before shaking his head. "all the repairs in the world couldn't fully fix this ship." He stepped back off and started down the corridor. He saw one of the people from the dining room was walking in the direction of the turbo lift. "The lift over there is broken if thats where you're heading. There's another one three junctions down this corridor though." He passed by her and kept walking towards the other turbo lift. |

The doctor blinked before looking at the drink. She smiled softly before taking one and taking a sip from it. "A flying deathtrap, eh?" She just gave a small giggle. "I think i can handle it." She looked at Alex, eyes seemed to be bright even for just meeting him. "Doctor Joanne Miller." She said as she held out her hand and then moved the drink slightly. "And thanks for the drink." Duina blinked as she happened to be the one the captain had spoke too. She stopped in her tracks before looking at the turbo lift she had been heading for before glancing back to the captain. She then inhaled slowly before letting it out as she turned around and started to make her way to another one. She didn't say anything to Michael. Not even a thank you for warning her about the turbo lift. |

Micheal approched the other turbo lift and walked into and held the door open for the other girl. As soon as she was in he gave his destination which was still the bridge and then waited for her to give her destination. Alex smiled back at Miller and shook her outstretched hand. "Alex Callister, no relation to Admiral callister." He took a sip from his own drink and looked about the room at the other officers roaming around the room, most talking quietly to one or two other people. "so what are you expecting to happen on this ship based on what you've heard about it previously?" |

Duina was almost to the turbo lift before she stopped in her tracks. She looked around before a small boy came running towards her. "Auntie. Mommy is looking for you." The small boy said as he danced around like he had to use the bathroom or something. Duina looked at the Captain before nodding her head in thanks before taking the small boys hand and headed off in a different direction. Mysterious woman she could be. Miller took a sip from her glass as she just smiled softly. She lowered her glass as she took a quick glance around before looking back at Alex. "Personally, I haven't a clue. I'm not expecting much really, but I am sure something will happen given everything that I have heard. Not that I am saying any of it is bad of course. Mostly just cautionary tales and the liking." She just gave a small shrug as she looked around taking another sip. "But seems my job has already started and I haven't even made it onto the ship yet." She gave a small giggle with a small shake of her head. Curls bouncing slightly when she did. |

Micheal shrugged as the turbo lift doors closed and it started moving. a few moments later it arrived on the bridge and opened to reveal the bridge with a few crew members sitting at some of the stations doing last minute preparations. Micheal walked on the bridge and sat down in the Captains chair and relaxed in it. it would be an hour or so before they were cleared to leave space dock anyway so he had time to just sit there. "What do you think of the new Captain? He seems to be somewhat distant from the rest of the crew for some reason" Alex asked Miller as he set his glass down on a tray as a waiter walked past them. |
