Michael looked at the creature again it looked friendly enough but then again so did some of the Vulcan's pets "So like a teddy bear with teeth... ok I'll keep that in mind." He smiled a chuckled at what had just happened as they continued the rest of the way up. he stopped when the reached the top step. he looked at her and smiled before looking at the building again. "looks like I'll be following you when we're in here. is there anything at all I should know about this? like customs or rituals. I don't want to offend anyone." |

Duina looked at him before smiling. "Just keep your mind focused on your goal and...do not think of me in any way. My mother is on this council and if she notes one hint of you and I, she will be one it like a dog to food." She just smiled softly. "Just keep the main goal in your mind and never speak unless spoken too. I'll talk at first to let them know why you have come seeking them and then you will be asked some questions." She held his hand a little tighter. "But whatever you do, do not let your mind wander. It shows the council that you are not really sure about what you have come to speak with them about. Getting all this?" Her smile was still soft on her lips as she spoke. |

Micheal made a straight face with a small smile. a little more professional looking. "Got it." He straightened his shirt and looked at the doors then back to her. "I think I'm as ready as I'll ever be. lead on." He took a breath as he waited for things to advance. |

Duina looked at him, rather serious. "I mean it when I said keep me out of your mind. My mother is very picky on who I see and she has been bugging more and more...For the sake of my sanity, keep me out of your thoughts..." One could tell she meant business when she spoke simply by the way her eyes lost some of their natural glisten. Inhaling, she pulled her hair up so it didn't look as frazzled from being outside before leading him inside. "name off the things that i have told you that you must do that I know you have got it." |

Micheal composed himself and looked professional. "Keep you off my mind, Don't speak unless addressed, keep my goal in mind and second most importantly don't let my mind wander... don't worry, I'm a Starfleet captain, my job is the goal." He kept a now serious composure and look about him. he was ready for this and was confident that he could do this. "umm... one thing I thought your race could read the thoughts of someone regardless if it was on top or not? regardless I know what I have to do to get this done. I'm ready." |

Duina nods, "Yes, that is true, but they will be for focused on what you are focused on. Keep this goal in mind and you shouldn't have a problem." She smiled softly before leading him into a large elegant looking room where about 12 Betazeds sat highter then the rest of the room. All eyes were on them when they entered the room. "Why have you come?" A more elderly woman beta had spoke first. "What is your purpose here?" Another elderly male beta spoke second. Duina gave a small bow of her head before speaking. "I have come with a friend from another world who wishes to form an alliance with our people." There was silence and an annoying wave from Duina's mother before the council spoke again. "Proceed then." "Tell us what we would get out of such...an alliance." 'Hello Mother.' Duina just kept her mouth shut as she watched her mother, knowing exactly what she was going to think up next. 'Hello Darling, and what a fine young man you have brought with you' 'Do not get any Ideas mother.' 'I wouldn't dream of it...' Duina then looked at Michael before nodding to tell him it was alright to speak now. |

Micheal kept his mind where it should be. "out of this Alliance with the Federation you will have access to our technology, our assistance in time of need, protection whenever possible and of course a seat amount the United Federation of Planets with equal say. Michael sounded confident and his mind was on his goal, he was determined. |

The council was silent for a few moments before one would stand. The one who did was Duina's mother. "I think an alliance is a good idea, but we need more then just the word of a single man to believe in such a thing." The council all seemed to agree to what she was saying. "Therefore I purpose a marriage between the federation and our kind." She just smiled happily glancing at her daughter. Duina's eyes were wide wit shock. "MOther!" "Well, why not. Does it not sound like an idea. This way, we ensure that we will be getting the things promised to us in this alliance." Duina still couldn't believe her ears as she looked to Michael. |

Micheal cocked an eyebrow "A Marriage?" Micheal admitted to himself he was in no way prepared for this turn of event. still focused on the matter at hand he looked at Duina. "If I may address the council in my own words..." |

The council looked at one another before Duina's mother was seated. "You may." They all watched him rather intently. Duina looked over at him her heart almost skipping beats for she still could not believe what her mother had just suggested. Marriage of all things. Her mother was beginning to push this one a little to far. |

"The federation currently houses over 25 diffrent races from Humans to Andorians to Vulcans to even Zaranites. we house an organization to unite as many races as possible. I may be one man but as a StarFleet Captain I am authorized and encouraged to not only make first contact but also to share our knowledge as a token of Good Faith." Michael pulled out a small pack of disks and held the in his hand. "As a Token of Good Faith from the Federation and from Earth we present to you our collection of biological information on all the races of the Federation as well as A collection of Earths and Vulcans literature and history. I cam to this planet unknowing of it's culture, it's technology and very little of it's race." He paused for a moment before continuing. "When it comes to... first contact, we do not wish to cause inter spacial incident with potential allies and partners. back in twenty one fifty one with the launch of Earths First warp 5 star ship Captained by a man named Jonathan Archer. without the help from the Vulcans that feat would not have been possible for us for a long time to come from then. They didn't believe we were ready to explore space, they believed we were... dishounerable and young and for as true as that may be in those years leading up to where we are now... where I stand now. because of Captain Jonathan Archer we have the Federation and have since then meet many races of which we share everything we have with them. My point is Council the federation is not in the interest in lieing to it's allies and it's friends. I would not be standing before you today had it not been for Dunia, nor would I be here if I weren't serious in representing what the federation stands for, and that is unity and an understanding between races, and Now We... I offer that hand of Unity to be part of something so much more then an alliance." He took a step back and composed himself. He was confident in what he had said and hoped at least some of it had gotten through. |

The council muttered about itself as they talked over with what they have just been told. Duina looked at Michael before looking back at the council as they seemed to silence themselves before one stood. "We will take what you have said into consideration during the signing of this alliance, but we wish to have an outside link to this federation as well. Something that to use means more then the simple signing of the paper. A marriage will be held along with the signing of the alliance." The elderly man who spoke sat down before Duina's mother stood up again. "Michael...if that is your name, We wish that you gather your strongest and best looking men for a small inspection. We have already chosen the bride but the groom must still be chosen." Duina blinked some before shaking her head but didn't bother to speak out against what the council had decided and by her poster it would have been best if Michael remained quiet as well. |

Michael simply nodded and glanced at Duina figuring it might not be a good idea to do anything till she did. He stood in a composed position, he'd have to make a communication to Alex if he was to do what was requested. For now though Micheal just waited to see what would happen next. |

Duina brought her head up before speaking. "I must decline this current idea." The council looked at her before waving a hand to let her continue. "I am not sure that this marriage thing would work. I mean, none of the other girls have been on board the ship nor have they left their own home world before." "We are aware of that, Miss. Duina. That is why you are the chosen bride." Duina blinked barely able to speak. "M-Me?" "Don't stutter dear" Duina's mother spoke out. "Sorry, but why me?" "You have spent the most time away and you are the most trusted. Therefore you will be married off to the man that your mother chooses." Duina looked at her mom, almost horrified of her mothers look before nodding. "If that is what the council wishes to do." "Then it had been decided. There will be a wedding the same day as the Alliance signing. You may leave now." Duina bowed before taking Michael's arm and leaving the room and rather quickly at that. |

as soon as they were out the room the first thing out of Michael was "What the hell just happened there. Did I just miss something or did I just promise a federation officer your hand?" He was bewildered by what had just taken place. "I kept you completely off my mind but it's like she somehow knew did she have this planned from the second we walked in or something?" He was having a little problem with what had just happened, he was almost pacing back and forth had Duina not had him by the arm. |
