Captain Jade was out of his uniform and i his Civilian cloths which was rare for a captain. His cabin lights were dimmed instead of a bright glow and in the middle a small table had been set up with two candles in the middle and a set of plates at each end. Jade smiled at her. "I hope this isn't too much but I do believe I promised you dinner." He took a few steps over to one of the chairs. "And besides, I'd like to thank you as would the federation. had it not been for you we never would have had the chance to stop the Romulan's. please have a seat." He pulled a chair out for her and smiled warmly. "I didn't know what you liked so I told the chef to be ready on anything just in case" |

Duina blinked some as she looked at him. A smile crossed over her lips as she pushed her hair behind her ear. She just looked down for a second before looking up as she went to sit down. "I wish I had known before hand. I would have been a little more prepared myself." She was mostly refering to the fact that her clothing wasn't exactly the greatest, her hair was a mess and she was still in bare feet. As she watched him, she shook her head. "I really didn't do much. Just got captured..." Her smile was small, but it was there. |

Jade smiled as he sat down himself across from her. "But it was because they wanted you that we were able to stop them from assassinating the Klingon high council which would have sent them into civil war leaving the Romulan's free to move in and then move in on us. Because of you a mass scale war was averted, thats something to be proud of. The Federation wants to award you with The highest civilian Award possible." He sat back in his chair and smiled still. "And don't worry about not being prepared you don't have to look perfect. you're just as radiant either way." |

Duina blinked and blushed. Only for one reason. His compliment. She would push that aside for the moment before tilting her head. "I am not sure I am worthy of such a thing." She looked around his quarters. She liked it, but she liked hers better. Perhaps because it felt more like home to her. She just then turned her attention back to him before smiling some. "But...I will not turn it down for it would be rude of me." She thought about it and the more she did, the more she felt that she had actually done something right. Something that even her parents would have to be proud of. Fingers pulled some of her hair over her shoulder as if she was trying to make it look somewhat presentable. She was dining with the captain after all. Even if he wasn't in uniform. |

"Well in any event the Klingon empire and the federation owe you a debt of gratitude but enough of that for a moment. I remember you saying before all this happened that you that you liked being out in space exploring or something similar. How would you like a position on this ship here with us?" Jade Smiled at her and laced his fingers together before setting them down on the table. "It would be completely voluntary, you wouldn't be an officials crew member but a civilian consultant. it's perfectly within my powers to grant such a position. it's not exciting here but it's well rewarding. if your interested of course." |

Duina blinked some as this offer was soon presented to her. She looked at the table before thinking it over in her mind. But things were not as clear as she hoped they would be. She closed her eyes trying to focus before she opened them. "Perhaps, you can give me some time to think upon your offer." she wasn't to sure if she wanted to, but if she was going to be kicked off the ship, then perhaps she should take it up to remain aboard it. She had questions, but she wouldn't bother to ask about them as it was a dinner not a interview for a job. |

"please by all means. it'll take us three weeks in our current condition to get back to star base 11. you are of course welcome to stay on board as a guest for as long as we are in a state of peace but please offers aside for now lets eat. I'm not to sure about you but I haven't had a proper meal in a few days. sickbay food isn't as good as it should be but then again that may be the doctors doing." He smiled at her before continuing. "please order anything you like our chef will make it for you." He looked out the ship window for a moment. A vibrant green and blue nebula. it's glow emanated into the room. "You know, there are very few things I would give this up for." |

Duina just smiled as she watched him as he said that she could think about it. It really was something that she wanted to think about mostly because it was a big deal. She was very glad to hear that she was able to actually remain on board while she thought it over. In a short while, she finally requested something from her homeworld. Something she actually missed eating because she had been away from home for so long. But she didn't miss it mostly because of her mother and father. She really didn't know what else she was going to say at this moment, so she was just silent for now. |

Jade simply ordered a cup of tea and an old Vulcan traditional plate. He didn't know the name of it but remembered to have it put into the menus because he liked it. It looked like a stir fry but none of the things other then the rice looked familiar. within moments the two plates and an assortment of other things materialized on the table. Jade picked up his fork and took a small bite out of his meal. "It'll be nice having you aboared the ship. they say a ships personality is only as diverse as it's crew and in my opinion having a ship that doesn't follow star fleets strict rank system does wonders for the people aboard the ship. personally I hope you stay." |

Duina just thanked the one who brought in the food. A fork was picked up as she soon started to eat. She remained silent while he spoke before speaking when her mouth wasn't full. "I am sure this ship would be the same even if I didn't stay. I am no different then the others who have made a home here as well." She truely believed that she was no different so her staying or going, to her, wouldn't make a difference. "Also, may I ask how it will be nice if I remain here on the ship." She did tend to be a little to formal at times, but that may or may not change. Meaning, her mind still was a little flustered as to his previous comment about her being radiant, so she was a little confused. Normally, when one commented another it was a sign of them liking the other and perhaps not always just as friends. |

"?It's simple really. it would be nice because on a ship like this everyone is so uptight and duty bound that maybe if they see someone who's loosened up they might become a little more comfortable here. And besides I don't know about you but I happen to enjoy having you aboard." Jade took another bite of his meal and continued to smile. He didn't really know what was going on in her mind but he hoped she would stay. He didn't know why but he liked her company. Maybe it was because she wasn't an officer she was able to say what was on her mind. |

Duina just nodded some as she soon started to eat again. She had noticed that many of those that were on board were very uptight. She asked for a simple direction once and got jarggen she didn't understand. She simply wanted someone to tell her to go around a corner and down three doors. She then swallowed before looking at him before speaking. "Is there a personal reason as to why you wish me to stay?" She wanted to see if there was anything he may say to help her make up her mind. If she said she would stay, she would have frequent visits to the sickbay unless she could start to screen out the emotions and feelings of everyone on board. She would enjoy staying. If she left, she wouldn't have anywhere to go. She could go back to wandering space by herself but for some reason, that didn't appeal to her as much as staying did. |

Jade was caught off guard by the question, in truth there was a personal reason. He liked her, liked having her around. He didn't want to come off as too strong or anything but despite being a captain he was unprepared for this. "Well umm I... I guess I'll be upfront here. I like having you here. it's a nice change of seeing nothing but uniforms someone I can talk to without being called captain or sir. Someone on this ship who can say anything they want without having to follow conduct. That and I happen to like you." He smiled a bit then quickly looked out the ship window, the nebula was still emanating a nice soft glow. |

Duina just listened. A soft smile appearing upon delicate lips. "I see..." She just continued to eat. She hadn't actully been expecting such an answer. More along the lines of something simplier. She looked up and out the window, smile still forming on her face. She then looked back at him and nodded some. "Then...I will stay." Her smiled was soft and sincere. She meant it, one could tell. She looked back down as her food and continued to eat. She was sure that she would like it better where she had one friend instead of no friends. |

Michael smiled a bit more then looked at her. "I'm glad. I'll explain things to star fleet." He let that moment drag on for a small bit "when we get back of course. for now lets enjoy this night. I think we've earned it. you've earned it and a lot more." He smiled still as he took another bite of his meal. "I'm glad we found you." |
