Name: Alan Keldar

Age: 22

Side: Light

Nationality: Kandori

Personality: Alan is a quiet man. He has a tendency of remaining quiet unless there's something actually to be said. If there is something to be said, he's quite frank about things, and doesn't doddle on the subject. His comments are usually respectful, unless he thinks/knows they are associated with the Shadow. His hate for the Shadow is tremendous. If anything angers Alan, it's most likely something to do with that. It takes him awhile to be comfortable around other people, and even then he tries to stay clear of a close friendship/relationship.

Appearance: Tall, about 6'1. He has icy blue eyes, and blond, short hair. He has a sharp, average-sized nose, and a more than average body build. He's quite athletic, being used to the harsh war with the Shadow, and has maintained his body's health. He has a

History: Alan was the only child between his two parents. Since he was raised as the only child, that brought some expectancy from his parents. They raised him to be a respectful, well-mannered, and strong man. He started to learn how to use a sword when he was in his early teens, and joined the army of Kandor at 18, just like his father. His father was a officer in the army, and made sure he was up to the standards just like any soldier. He was expected to live up to his father's standards, as well. This meant an even tougher determination to make his father proud. His life wasn't only troubled by his parents approval; since he was a boy he had very few friends, mainly because so many people would disappear or die from the Shadowspawn. Their town was in Northern Kandor, meaning it was beside the Blight, and was often attacked. This made Alan very reluctant on building relationships with others. While he was in service of the military he had also experienced and understood how the Kandori said two years in the military was a long service and life. Most of the original soldiers who had been formed into a group with him were gone, leaving a small handful of them as the veterans.
It came to is third year when Trolloc attacks were increasingly more frequent and dangerous. The whole country was on alert. His father came to him at one point of that year, commanding the troops he was with. They were supposed to hold a Trolloc advance near their actual hometown. He didn't understand; why had the Trollocs started to suddenly press on Kandor and the other Borderlands? The Blight was always expected to be sending their forces on the Borderlands, constantly reminding them of the expected arrival of the Dragon Reborn, but they were never so offensive. It could only mean something significant was happening, and Alan wasn't sure what it was.
They were expecting the Trollocs to attack any minute now, but it seemed everything was fine. The calm before the storm. Trollocs and Myrdraal mounted and unmounted alike were coming from every direction. They were being assaulted by a vast number, and had little chance of defeating them on their own. They were being pushed back, when he saw his father directing the men, being rushed at by a group of Trollocs. Soldiers tried holding them back from the rest of the retreat, but they failed. The forces of the Shadow were breaking the army apart while they retreated, and were getting ever so close to the final ranks.
Alan was fighting back fiercely, and saw it. He only caught a glimpse of his father fighting a Myrdraal. It slew his father in a matter of seconds, moving onto the next soldiers and taking them down just as easily. Alan was mortified, and went into a rage. Everything seemed lost; his few friends who had been shoulder-to-shoulder with him in the formations were probably all dead, his father was dead, no chance of making him proud now, and his hometown would be burned to the ground.
It was at this moment that a booming horn was heard. Reinforcements. The reinforcements were a large force, but it wasn't the soldiers that he was so surprised to see compared to the other members of this force. Aes Sedai and Warders had come all the way from the White Tower, hoping to aid the Kandori forces. His hopes of getting his parents' approval was gone, his group of friends were dead, but he was not gone, and he didn't plan to go away so easily just yet. After the battle was finished, heavy casualties were on both sides. If it weren't for the Aes Sedai, they probably would've lost this. He was in their debt for saving them.
Leaving the army, he went to the Tower in hopes of becoming an even better fighter for the Light. Not only would he advance in the field of weapon skill, he would become a tactician, a Warder hopefully, and ensure that he would never let so many be killed by the Shadow. He would have his revenge, and make his father proud of him, whether he was dead or not.
