History of Magic Professor
[ * ]
Having returned from putting her newly-acquired books in her office, Ellie entered her classroom on the second floor to find the Fideliter and Astute First-Year students doing their best to wreak havoc upon her classroom.

"Ladies and gentlemen, if I could have your attention please?"

Her statement was completely ignored. She walked up to the front of the room and stood there for a moment, glaring at the class. Only a few were smart enough to realize that she wished to begin speaking; the rest continued on.

Taking a deep breath and counting to three, Ellie opened her mouth and shouted at the top of her lungs, "SIT DOWN. NOW. FIDELITER AND ASTUTE HAVE JUST NOW LOST 50 POINTS. EACH."

With that, a stunned silence fell over the group. The older students had gone on and on about how "awesome" Professor Binns was, how easy-going, about how she hardly ever took points away or gave detention.

"If one more person opens their mouth, you WILL get detention, and I personally make sure that it is MOST unpleasant! When I walk into this classroom, I expect you to be in your seats, ready for class, and ready to stop talking at a moment's notice. NO MORE of this unnecessary and foolish behavior. Is that clear?"

"Yes, Professor," the students answered in unison.

"Now, I will be taking a more comprehensive approach to the study of the History of Magic. We will be starting in Ancient times, with the Babylonians, Etruscans, Celts, Egyptians and a few others. We will spend a unit on the Magic of the Far East, as well as a unit on the Magical Tribes of North and South America. Of course, this will not all occur within one school year. By the end of your 5th year, you will have had a thorough grounding in magical history, including the most recent war with the Dark Lord, Voldemort. If you will, please open your books to page 10, and follow along with me as I lecture. Yes, Miss Crow, you will need to take notes. But first, I need to take roll."

With that, Ellie got her class in order and began the lesson.
