The Guardian's as it happens commentry said 'That disallowed goal has given this match a very surreal atmosphere.'. I remember getting the feeling the latter 1/2 of the first half after that disallowed goal had created a strange atmosphere. The Germans were far from comfortable with it. more from Guardain- 67 min: THIS COULD BE IT FOR ENGLAND. Germany 3-1 England. The ball having bounced off the wall, four German players stream upfield, no red shirts bothering to chase back and help. Down the inside left, Schweinsteiger rolls the ball wide right to Muller on the right-hand edge of the England box. James gets a hand to the shot, but it was hit hard as you like and flies into the bottom-right corner. 69 min: England's four defenders make it back to their area. more 76 min: England are a pathetic rabble now. Ozil and Schweinsteiger are running at what passes for their defence, time and again, at will this is what i was thinking too 85 min: Still, look on the bright side, at least Rooney didn't melt down and get himself sent off. more and the end comes FULL TIME: Germany 4-1 England England were appalling. And anyway, when you boil it down, England played well for 54 seconds out of 90 minutes. A terrible show, an embarrassment, and an especially pathetic defensive performance. Now THAT'S THE GAME. I hope Argentina wins, the quality of the players is superior but Germany is Germany, their game works. Tomorrow Brazil vs Chile. The way things are, I won't be surprised if we lose. Chile has beaten us a thousand times. I will be glad if we lose, it's the only way to get rid of damn Dunga. ¬¬ Edited by Cleo, Jun 27 2010, 08:36 PM.

I know, I feel bad. I want Brazil to win but I don't want Chile to lose. The perfect match would be Brazil vs Spain and Chile vs Portugal but it didn't happen, unfortunately. Whatever happens, I am South America until the end. I'm loving Uruguay. Forlan and Suarez are GREAT. I love the fact that Uruguay is very authentic. They play like good old Uruguay and not like Argentina or Brazil. I also love how Maradona is adored in Argentina, how the players love him and respect him and how he made himself respected after all those problems he had. He is so passionate you can tell that football is his life. |

it looked like a spanish player blatantly feigned being elbowed in the head by a potugal player. I just don't know how they can live with themselves and actually call themselves sportsman. I'm pretty sick of all that cheating and dishonesty and bad decisions. IN fact much as i'm pissed off with the England players they did show good spirit to come back into the game after going 2 down and if that ref hadn't have wrongly disallowed our goal, which the FIFA president has now apologised for, then we might have scrapped through against the Germans. |

you obviously didn't see the end of the game, because Suarez was red carded and a penalty was given to Ghana. Gyan missed it (hit the crossbar) in the 120th minute. The game went to penalties, and Uruguay won 4-2. Germany was amazing today. They are truly the best team of this world cup. |

This German team is considered one of the best ever. The thing with Germany is, when they have the opportunity they don't miss it. Yesterday Brazil had the opportunity to kill the match but they did shit. The way they lost was so pathetic, I'm still not over it. Fucking stubborn Dunga so fucking defensive, well done Holland! I won't be surprised if the final is Uruguay vs Germany and Germany is the champion. Oh well, see you guys in 2014, in Brazil. Save money to go Olia. Funnily enough i did fall asleep, out of drunkness and didn't see the end. I looked at it on youtube before coming to a conclusion. The fact that he was red carded is irrelevant! So, is the fact Ghana missed the penalty. You sound like you think it's the penalty takers fault for missing! He cheated Ghana out of a place in the world cup semi-final. Uruguay should be banned from International football. Edited by Mr.Mustard, Jul 4 2010, 05:09 AM.

...why? there was a handball, he was punished, red card, penalty, how is that a travesty of justice? And why should anyone be banned from international football? And it is quite obvious that it is the penalty taker's fault for missing. He could have become a hero there and then, but he didn't have the guts for it. Plus Uruguay is a better team. I was rooting for Ghana, but in the end they could not deal with the pressure. And what about Spain? They did not deserve to qualify. Paraguay could have won the game even though they were the weaker team. I will be cheering for Uruguay, although I kind of get the feeling that Germany will be the champions. |
