Volleyball is my favorite sport and futebol. I´m a little masochist about the last one... Brazil should be known as the land of volleyball... Our men's national team rocks my little loser world. They're not only very hot but they win almost everything! I love this player in special... ![]() I used to love Formula 1 until Ayrton Senna's death. Those were the days, very competitive ones with Senna, Prost... Soccer sucks but I'm always watching because I suck even more. I don't want to watch the world cup this year and I will not watch. I don't have nerves left. Since 1994 I have been suffering. I don't want to see, I don't care. Anyone can beat Brazil's national team except Portugal. I don't want to hear those Tugas talking about it forever, centuries and centuries... That's all. I don't know why people think I support Dallas Cowboys... I don't.

I love American football. I love the 49ers, hate the Cowboys. Have held 49 season tickets since 1979. Used to love the Raiders and that is how I got into football - can't stand their fans now and can't stand those that overidentify with their beloved teams...as if they were on the team! The parent company of the company I used to work for managed the money of several of the Raiders players...fun times, indeed. I like the notion of baseball, all that goes with it, but much rather play it than watch. Don't tell my oldest. I like basketball, mostly high school, but I will get into the playoffs. Have a friend who tries to engage me with soccer, well that's what he says, but can't quite get into it. But my favorite sport is log rolling. |

When I was a kid, I hated sports. Something about a demented Scotsman getting me to play Football, Rugby and Hockey in the freezing cold and rain whilst physically and mentally assaulting me just turned me off them - don't know why! In my late teens, early twenties, I developed a real passion for Football (Soccer) and, although I had always said that I supported Coventry City FC, I became an active supporter of my team - as well as the England national Football team. I really love watching Tennis as well, a very exciting sport to watch. To a lesser extent, I will also watch Cricket and Rugby, but I don't have as much of a passion for them, although when my national side are involved in either, it becomes a whole lot more interesting. My Summer vacation is built around the World Cup, as my friend and I are going to to Milano in order to soak up the atmosphere in the Italian bars and streets during the tournament (as well as going to The Lakes, it's not all about the football!). I've given the American sports a go, but I find all of the US national sports (American "Football", Baseball and Basketball) to be exceedingly dull. I'd rather watch Snooker or Darts than any of those! |

As with most things , i tend to go to extreams. For most of my life i was football and MCFC mad.....now i have no interest at all. I started losing interest when they made all seaters , which was around the same time as 'madchester/ britpop' . Also the prices shot up, the middle classes moved in , and players have their heads firmly up their own arses. No thanks.......i will stick to my music I love watching the golf majors though , and the players seem nicer people than football players ( not all by the way. David Lee ex BWFC is a gentleman , and franny lee ....mind you thats not now is it ?)

When you cast your eyes upon the skylines, Of this once proud nation. Can you sense the fear and the hatred Growing in the hearts of its population. And our youth, oh youth, are being seduced , By the greedy hands of politics and half truths, Reared on a diet of prejudice and misinformation The beaten generation, Open your eyes , Open your imagination We're being sedated by the gasoline fumes, And hypnotised by the satellites Into believing what is good and what is right. | |

Not an original work, but very funny "I had this dream that I was back at school in Tangawarra. There was this one Catholic priest who took all the classes, his name was Father Muck. Now I got along with Father Muck fine - he was a great Catholic priest, but a lousy human being. But he loathed me because my mother used to spoonerise his name, so I'd say "Hi, Father Muck!", and she'd say "Hi, Mother F...!" and that was it for me, that's why they forced me to play football. Good old ruggers! Give us the boy and we'll give you parts of him back! "God it was horrible. He was reading a poem by Alexander Pope called "The Rape Of The Lock". You know what he got me to play? The lock! I had to force my head between the McCaffey brothers' bums - two bums like the back-end of Mack trucks. It was horrible! And if they'd had a late night on the chilli it was like the "1812 Overture" through a muffled arse stereo. "Now one morning when I went along to training - I'd been up on the cherry brandy all night - I didn't see just two bums, four cheeks, I saw a whole phalanx of bums stretching from one side of the oval to the other. I thought stuff it, nose to the grindstone, I'll pick the gap. And I pushed and I don't know where I ended up but it was bloody dark." Edited by FamousGroupie, Jan 23 2010, 12:33 PM.

I think the Vikings-Saints game will be the closer of the two, but I look for Adrian Peterson to have a big day and for Favre to win it for them. |

Vikings Explain How They Lost the Game “I felt they didn’t win the game, but rather we lost it.” – Adrian Peterson, Vikings running back “We’ve had no three turnover games this year. So to have five against a good football team, it’s very difficult to overcome. I thought our guys did a great job in this environment here. I don’t think there was a false start penalty. I don’t think there was a procedural penalty. I thought we took care of this setting here extremely well.” - Vikings Coach Brad Childress “After the penalty we were out of field goal range. I am not even sure what the exact yardage was that we needed, but the play was designed actually to go to Bernard (Berrian) in the flat – man coverage – they checked out of it and we went in motion. I was actually late to Sidney (Rice). I probably should have ran it. I don’t know how far I could have gotten, but in hindsight that is probably what I should have done. I don’t know how many yards we needed for a field goal, but I knew we needed some. It was just late to Sidney (Rice).” - Vikings QB Brett Favre “That is it. 12 men in the huddle. I’m not sure why it happened or how 12 men ended up in the huddle, but it is what it is.” - Vikings WR Sidney Rice |

I love sport, when I was younger and up to my teens football (soccer) was pretty much all I cared about. Played it and watched everything I could. Been a life long Hearts supporter (my local team) and of course I'm still a Scotland supporter. I'll support the Scots in whatever sport they are in. Although in recent years I havent kept up as much which is a tad ironic as I have seen loads of football in recent years, not played in a while which I need to rectify. This is probably the first world cup I havent been bothered about, its been a while since my boys have been in it, 1998 to be precise and I remember that one well Also love rugby, both forms, but I do tend to get to the union matches more (sorry Jayne) so I support the local lot Edinburgh Rugby who havent been doing to badly and the international team of course who I am gutted about losing to Wales yesterday I also enjoy watching the F1, tennis, snooker, summer and winter olympics. Got a new found love for the baseball. Seeing it live over in the states was an incredible experience. I'm a Phillies fan, I also used to play a lot of field hockey which I still enjoy and I enjoy watching ice hockey I've got to meet some of my footballing heroes and rugby heroes, also walked past Andy Murray at the gym which was kind of cool. I dont really watch sport on the tele anymore with the exception of the olympics and tennis and occasionally the F1 when I'm not at work, but instead being in the stadium creates for a better environment |

What's wrong with the England players when they play for England. -a lot of talk about how much the England players get paid by their clubs, for e.g Rooney,Gerrard,Lampard and Terry earn more than all of the Germany players combined, but let’s look at why they get paid that money. The clubs obviously think they’re worth it or rather they’re afraid of them going to rival teams which gives the players agents etc. Power to effectively blackmail the clubs. The back bone of this England squad are the same players who failed to qualify for Euro 2008 but that didn’t seem to have any effect on the way the clubs viewed them because they weren’t flopping for their clubs. -they keep getting nervous, both individually and collectively. I think this is caused by a combination of being very arrogant and full of huge self-belife but also ceased with utter terror at not playing well and making mistakes. - sometimes when they’re playing and not enjoying it or are feeling nervous and fear losing they resent the effort that they have to put in, resent the way the media vilify them, resent the situation in general. -How much do they actually respect the opposition. Another thing is, I think they don’t respect the opposition enough. It’s like they resent having to play them because they think they’re better and resent having to put the effort in to prove it and this leads to Edited by Mr.Mustard, Jun 28 2010, 09:54 AM.
