what i want to know is if the years are counted from when jesus was born and jesus wasn't born on the first day of the year then AD should start from 26/12/01 BC instead of 01/01/00. |

Nobody knows when Christ was born. Some say the Eastern Orthodox religions have it correct, their Christmas is Jan. 6th (in the States, Jan. 7th for Central and Eastern Europe), others believe His birth to be sometime later on. Also Christmas Eve is the beginning of the liturgical time called the Feast of the Epiphany that lasts for something like 12 days (the 12 days of Christmas) and ends the Sunday after Jan. 6th with the Baptism. Roughly translated Anno Domine (AD) means Year of Our Lord so Jan. 1st would be correct, though Christ was not born in AD 1. He was alive during the reign of King Herod the Great who died several years before the beginning of AD. Bill and some others who are better versed than I can elaborate a bit more than I can. |

Hmmm, and here I thought he might be talking about the fictional Christian cover band AD/BC that Ned Flanders mentioned on The Simpson's earlier this year. "Kindly deeds, done for free! Kindly deeds, and there done for free..." |
| There is great need for a sarcasm font. | |
