We don't call it papers, we call it ID as you either carry your driver's license or state ID. Some use their passports. I have heard them called papers but only on UK tv shows.

Actually the more I think about it the more it troubles me. Some busy bodies said he was 'acting suspiciously'. I'd like to know exactly what was going on 'cause it sounds very much like the sort of thing that happens in a police state.

No proof of who you are, you get detained until you can show proof. Doesn't mean you get arrested, however, and it doesn't go on your record unless they find there is a warrant for your arrest.

Turns out he was looking at a house in the rain, ahem Driving Rain - sorry had to do that! People thought it suspicious with a scraggly looking man in a fairly bad neighborhood walking in the rain looking at a house that was apparently for sale. The police did take him back to his hotel room so he could get ID.

Apparently he has been going to the childhood homes of some artists he is a fan of. He has been to John's childhood home and Bruce Springsteen's not to far from where he was found.

He must have felt like Mick and Keith did when they got busted-Like A Rolling Stone.
I never noticed his nose till about six months ago!
