when it comes to his feud with label EMI. The BEATLES legend left the record company in 2007 after more than 45 years, claiming it had become “boring”. And now he has snubbed EMI again by taking his back catalogue of solo material to a tiny independent label. Macca has given the rights to repackage and rerelease some of his most prized records to One Little Indian. The London-based label released his third album in his electronic side-project THE FIREMAN, a collaboration with producer YOUTH, last year. And the veteran rocker was so pleased with their work, he has allowed them to oversee the reissue of a selection of his studio recordings since going it alone in 1970. A source told me: “Paul has been unimpressed with EMI for quite some time now. “He’s really enjoyed working with One Little Indian on his Fireman project, so didn’t think twice about giving them the responsibility of handling his solo catalogue too.” |
