So the reason I did this was I had heard a discussion of what Beethoven or Bach or whoever in the classical realm might be doing now with the technology we have and then Lisa was talking about her daughter's recital and my daughter has been playing Ode to Joy on piano for some time. I was messing around and thought I'd do my version for giggles with my limited musical abilities. It'd be fun to get musicians to build on it. |

Find someone to play a violin or horns. Pretty soon you'll have an orchestra. I'd leave the kazoo out of it. :giggle:

I'm not sure about Beethoven but Bach was an incredible innovator. With The Well Tempered Clavier, he was the first composer (as in the very first, ever, in history) to write music in every single key. Up until then, it had been impossible. It was all to do with a thing called even temperament which we take for granted today. I don't remember enough to properly explain it but if you ever get a chance to see a program called Howard Goodall's Big Bangs, your mind will be blown. Anyway, the point I was making is that with The Well Tempered Clavier, Bach was basically fiddling about with new technology and seeing what could be done with it. I've no doubt he would be doing the same if he were here today. |
