I AM THE BIGGEST JOHN FAN!
|
This is a great American classic born in the Second City. I can`t go to Chicago and not get one. I usually get the veggie version, but sometimes nothing will do but the sausage! Only have it once or twice a year, but it is sooooo good. The rest of the food just looked and sounded hideous. |
|
You say you want to save humanity but it`s people that you just can`t stand John came to me in a dream and this is what he said. "I had a vision of a man on a flaming pie, and he told me that Betsy with a B not Lisa with a L is the biggest fan of mine". John trumps 'the boss' ! I WAS ROBBED BY THAT DEVIL WOMAN | |

Truth be told the first time I had one I said if I wanted a sandwich I'd order one. But it grows on you. Still I'm like Betsy, once or twice a year. Too many great thin and crispy pizzas in Chicago! |

I haven't had a pan pizza from UNO'S in ages. We usually grab the regular pizza. Bert went to the car show and all the guys grabbed a pizza, but it was a thin crust......best pizza ever. Edited by Queenbee, Mar 5 2009, 05:36 AM.

Ooo, I agree, John . . . absolutely delicious!! In my college days, I probably could've eaten the whole pie by myself. These days, I'd be overcome with guilt after just one piece - probably close to a thousand calories. Now I'm going to really embarrass myself . . . if those corn dogs were veggie, I could go for a slice of that doggone pizza. Same for the dog covered with freedom fries. I can be such a junk-food freak if the mood is right. When I'm feeling low, nothing is quite so comforting as deep-fried crunchiness or crusty, cheese-laden balls of dough. Now as for those *other* items . . . I can't believe I ever at meat. EVER.

After eating some of this food, anyone should be on the receiving end of an endoscope getting photographs. Ugh. How very, very hideous. Though we Americans did not, I might add, come up with the concept of deep-fried Mars bars.

I did always wonder why some Americans call them pizza pies. Now I get it. What I don't get is how someone decided that turducken wasn't disgusting enough already and what it really needed was more meat. |

Ihop is a good example of this type of crap food. I really can't eat that crap. I have a friend who loves Ihop. I ate there once and I will never eat there again. My husband ordered something terrible one day. The dish was a bread with mashed potato inside, cheddar cheese, meat with mushroom, this is not real food. One thing is to gain weight eating good food. Another thing is eating crap. It's frustrating. I think the only American food I like is donuts. I can't remember anything else at the moment. I'm sorry but Chicago pizza is not that good in my opinion. I think my standards are too high, maybe. I don't have stomach. That's why Mexican food is popular in USA. |

Mexican food is fat too, the reason why I gained so much weight. I mean, the Mexican food made here in US. Mexicans say Mexican food from Mexico is different. I love American buttermilk pancakes. I'm going to cook some for breakfast now. I never had them before, never ever and I didn't want to try them but now I love them with syrup for breakfast. I still eat omelet for lunch with white rice, beans and salad. It's a simple dish but it makes me feel at home. |

When I went to Mexico, Mexican food was much better -- not covered in cheese and fat. Similarly in China, real Chinese food is not deep fried in fat, but a lot is steamed or cooked in small amounts of oil. |

Take it from me, true Mexican food is most definitely better than what you get at most Mexican restaurants. I do know some in the Southern California area are almost as good as what I was brought up with, see my mom's family is from Mexico and Spain but more of the Mexican variety. What my great grandmother used to make whenever anyone came to see her, even unexpectedly, outranks anything you can buy at a restaurant. She was the first in the family to come from Mexico to California. Great, great food.

I don't know so much about Mexican food except for what I have here in Texas and they call it Tex-Mex. I really want to go to Cancun to try some authentic Mexican flavours. |

You really need to go away from the touristy areas to get the real food. |
