I have out of commission for several days. It all started last week when I went to the ER with a flare up of my cellulitis. The doctor gave me some sulfermeth. Everything seemed to be okay until a few days ago. I thought I had pulled a muscle in my right shoulder because I over did it with my Mom's new Wii bowling. It turned out to be an allergic reaction to the sulfermeth antibiotic. I now have a rash covering my body and sore muscles. I'm now taking Benadryl and hoping the alleries go away soon. I have an appointment with my doctor next week. I read the allergy takes up to a week or more to fully get out of my body. The doctor gave me Keflex but I forgot I am also allergic to that and stopped taking it. My cellulitis is better, but I feel horrible.
Any suggestions on how to relieve the itchiness alongside the Benedryl? I have Calomine lotion I've been putting on my body. I also bough some none perfumed soap. Showers are so great. I just hate this.

my brother swears by Aveeno oatmeal bath. it's not cheap but it WORKS. you can get it at Walgreens in the section where they have anti-itch medicine.

Thanks, I'll check it out. What I need is someone to massage some Calomine lotion in my back. It's difficult to reach some areas on the back.

Last year, when I had all the flea bites on my ankles, I found salt worked some. Using salt water. It can't hurt to try.

I think there are some sprays at the Walgreens that helps with the itchy thing. You should ask your doctor what's good for itchy, if you can use those sprays.

Baking soda bath followed by Sarna lotion. Hydrocortisone and benedryl also help.
