Thanks everyone for voting for me and I must say that I do not envy Andy's job tomorrow, because we have only 19 members that have voted so far in 29 categories with three nominations each in the forum next door and it nearly killed me to tabulate the preliminary results last night. I am hoping for at least 10 more votes today.

Thank you John for the Mom of the Year vote.

I also think your vote for ~ Hero Of The Year:Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force

should be the winner ~ even if there's one vote ~ it's the
BEST vote as far as I'm concerned.

Happy New Year!

PEACE and love to my friends, Judy

When the Power of Love over comes the Love of Power, the world will know Peace.

I'm not going to make a big deal about this, but there have been a small number of members posting under different names in order to get two sets of votes. Obviously this is unfair. Needless to say, we are aware of who they are and their second set of nominations under their secondary username will not be counted.

Please note that a secondary username which has not been authorised by the board's admin team is contrary to the board rules and those who have been OK'd by the admin team should not be used to get additional votes here - this whole thing is meant to be a bit of fun and people gaining unfair advantage by using second accounts to vote goes against that spirit.
...and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

Thank you, Andy. And they've made it so obvious, too. These people were suddenly coming out of the woodwork. This didn't happen last year. Why take the fun out of this.

Section One - General

Kindest, most respectful member: I am taking this opportunity to thank people who in this year have actually shown me kindness, Bevvy (Scottycat) for a wonderful afternoon in Liverpool one I actually could never ever imagined it being so. Wee adorable Jilly for lifting up my spirits. And the enigmatic Kinky for likewise. There are others of course but a little ta very much to Andy, Lisa and the wee mad scots lassie.

Funniest or wittiest boardie: Dani it must be a blood thing, kinky and barbs, sarky buggers all three of them.

Most intelligent board member: Betsy a lady who doesn’t need a Dr Watson.

Most fascinating member: oh lots of you are but then I am quite an inquisitive person by nature, shut it kinky., jilly.

Most politically astute boardie: Me but if not me then Andy though I hope next year to say kinky, when she gets round to stop throwing petrol bombs and formulates a political philosophy with a practical goal insight. Yes my dear, expect a ten page dissertation on policing in a democracy for your birthday. John (fab4fan).

Most entertaining board member: mark baker, Dani (hereafter known as Moira Stuart), Tony Hemp.

Most honest boardie: Moira Stuart, Joanne ( though she goes under the pseudonym of Rose) and Heidi.

Most 'cosmically conscious' boardmember: I honestly don’t know, words are cheap and actions speak louder, do you honestly think I like walking around in town with a tesco canvas bag it so unbecoming. And that Savers bag lasted 3 months, I hate plastic bags they just seem to breed everywhere.

Most mysterious boardie: Kinky it is like getting blood out of a stone with her.

Member you'd most like to have a beer with: I don’t drink…………beer but lets us say a meal with a glass of wine Betsy, Diane and Judy, guys we can go to the dancing establishment later.

Best thread starter: sorry never notice.
Best thread: the best holiday of my life - Liverpool
Board member with the best avatar(s): I don’t normally notice them but I hate Twiggy.
Boardie with the best signature(s): if anyone has I hate gobshites on theirs then that gets me vote.
Most attractive/sexiest boardmember: oh bugger I can only choose three Lisa, jilly and Kinky.

Person you wish would post more (only current members, please): Betsy, Squid
Best "newcomer" (Registered in 2008): sorry I did notice.
Most improved boardie: Andy, his technique in the chinky had shown that alot of practicing had been done.

Section Two - Music/The Arts

Best Beatles & Beatles-related Newsgetter:
Best Beatles/Paul knowledge: barbs, Linda and all of you over 40 may I one day reach that milestone.
Greatest overall musical knowledge: Not really in a position to judge. I like what I like, Michael Bolton is great.

Biggest Paul Fanatic: Well Jilly disqualified herself last night as a macca fan on the grounds of her ranting that he is and I quote “ a b*stard” at first I thought she was only calling me it when watching the video, but then she said we were both b*stards. Dani, Linda and Rachel but of course there are more including the nutjob of a lady who kissed macca’s kitchen floor.
Biggest John Fanatic: Moi, there endeth my French, Betsy and lisa. And in that order you really don’t know how big a fan of johns work I am though he was a complete and utter dickhead as a man. I sang in the porch, lisa didn’t.
Biggest George Fanatic: Jilly and not course of Dhani ( henceforth known as the skinny young runt) she is always pestering me to play george and I do though it makes me incredibly sad even after all this time.
Biggest Ringo Fanatic: err anyone who wants it can have it.
Best music reviewer: don’t know but I still aint forgiven andy for neil diamond’s “12” songs ?? three afternoons over four days wasted on that, trying hard to find something I liked about it, and yes I used to quite like him.
Most talented poet: Alexander Pope try the Flea ladies brillant. As for others n/a
Most talented storyteller: Reverend Dave, Mia Culpa, Adilah and Lissa
Most talented artist/animator: the only one that can actually draw Jilly. I do so wish I could win the lotto and send her to college. Tiny is a pro which states a level of competence. But as i said to macca your crap at it but if it gives you pleasure keep doing it.

The 'waitingforatrim' memorial award for the most talented musician on the board: dont know never seen anyone play. though andy is good with his paper and comb.

Section Three - The Best Of The Year
(One nomination per category only, please!)
oh hell of this year??

Song Of The Year: Everybody Hurts REM
Musical Artist/Group Of The Year: there is only one and only ever has been.
Album Of The Year: Wet Wet Wet Greatest hits it only cost a quid matti pellow had a great voice shame about the material.
Favourite Concert Of The Year: Denis Lorrociere at Basingstoke yes folks there really is such a place, the sign on the front says the home of the roundabout. Pfft and tsss what do you think of course it was Macca playing the hallowed ground that is Anfield.
Movie Of The Year: stardust hey I saw it this year and bought Miss P was wonderful in it and still so sexy and All Quiet on the Western Front ( original) can still moisten my eye.
Book Of The Year: Read some good books this year histories of course but at me mum’s, one short history of modern Greece not bad at all, and someone impressed me when asked on the subject. 1948 or 54 the Greeks gave women the vote it has all gone downhill since then. And a brilliant one on India after Ghandi very very long, very very well written a truly outstanding piece of work but bugger I cannae remember his name and anyways no one else would know it. There is always Mein Kamp by Charlie Chaplin’s double but though I bought it for £3, I aint got around to reading it yet this year been reading more of the medieval ages uk and Europe and general histories of around the world.
Man Of The Year: the executives of Merrill Lynch etc who by their actions made possible the election of a half black half white man in the United States of America, thereby making one of my predictions wrong, admittedly a long term one but I was right about the berlin wall and the fall of communism and the rise of constitutional gangsterism in Russia, and the chaos of Iraq. Planning is everything, you silly buggers, Alanbrooke told Marshall that in 1942 and it is still true today. Special mention for Boris Johnston for getting rid of the most politically craven arse licker of a Commissioner and a useless Policeman.
Woman Of The Year: me Mum.
Hero Of The Year: that decent bloke.
Villain Of The Year: Gordon Brown only coz he can’t quite understand what a complete and utter dickhead he is. At least I know the name of my Prime Minister.

Section Four - Special Awards

The 'Mom' of the board: Judy
The 'Pop' of the board: Jim a nice gentleman with a lovely wife.
The 'Get A Room' award for the biggest flirt: Nat, Lee, olen though he has quieten down but I am sure he is doing it elsewhere.
The Heather Mills Award for the biggest drama queen: nat , amiee
The 'Oscar' for grouchiness: bill, Claire, rose
The Letterbox award for dedication to posting: don’t know and don’t care
Best overall contribution to all sections of the board: only can go on what sections I look at so it will have to be andy, mark, lisa
The mozart8mytoe 'penguin' award for Quality over Quantity: Colin how i loved kissin' you in the pool.

...and finally;

The 2008 Strawberry Fields Boardie of the Year (one name only, please): I might as well go with the flow and pick the wullyback.

excellent news, putting on me sanctimous hat i borrowed it for a minute but in this you can be sure is heartfelt, the lady needs a good laff after 20 years with you. the marriages that last (my observations are the ones with laughter and a little bit of romance- mum and stepfather 30th in april). Which is why i folks i dont flirt what i say i say from the heart an though i try for it to be a cold and stoney place too many on here, have touched in remarkable ways this year. plus dani groped me groin in the crown we have photographic evidence.

Form

Most improved boardie: Andy, his technique in the chinky had shown that alot of practicing had been done. special mention for Bridget we have had disagreemetns in the past but she has always been open to learning. Too many where not understanding of where the lady was recently. I hope and wish that your endeavours bear fruit in the coming year. I dont normally kiss and hug so here's an handshake.

Section Two - Music/The Arts

Best Beatles & Beatles-related Newsgetter:
Best Beatles/Paul knowledge: barbs, Linda, tempy and all of you over 40 may I one day reach that milestone. these ladies often ring a bell in my hea about things that i had forgotten same with Olen but i dont like having men ringing bells in my head.

The mozart8mytoe 'penguin' award for Quality over Quantity: Colin how i loved kissin' you in the pool.

...and finally;

The 2008 Strawberry Fields Boardie of the Year (one name only, please): I might as well go with the flow and pick the wullyback.

i knew i should have done this last night on mine but i got distracted.

Now that voting is closed, I would like to say a blanket Thank-you to everyone who voted for me. I really don't take this very seriously but since it is our annual excuse to remind everyone of how cool we think our friends here are, it's also a time to say how honoured and humbled (if that isn't a contradiction) I am that anyone would think me appropriate for any of these titles.

It really is a pleasure to spend time here with all of you. Even Peter! ;)

No I did not, my dear, it would be contray to my sense of honour (please note Rev.dave wherever or whoever you are), I sang the mountains of mourne or at least the first verse and in the traditional way as written by Percy French and not by Don McClean.

one was shocked nay horrified by your retience,. At least Jayne said if the kids were'nt there and i loved alan we could of had a quickie on the bed. Now that is true fanatism.

And here are mine list:
The Malaysian Insider
Monday December 29 2008
The Celebrity Oscars
LONDON, Dec 28 — The romantic — and amusing, antics of the 2008 winners and sinners.

The Old Rogue of the Year (sponsored by Viagra)

This award is given to the gentleman of 60 or more who most successfully ignored the passing years in his pursuit of the fairer sex. In a hotly contested category, the nominees are...

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY, 66, who emerged from the wreckage of his marriage to Heather in fine form, squiring a succession of middle-aged beauties, including actress (and former girlfriend of Peter Gabriel) Rosanna Arquette, before settling into the elegant embrace of New York businesswoman Nancy Shevell.

HUGH HEFNER, 82, who declared in February that his No 1 girlfriend Holly Madison, 29, was, “the relationship that will last the rest of my life”.

By October, however, he’d dumped Holly and the other two girls of the Playboy Mansion, Kendra Wilkinson, 23, and Bridget Marquardt, 35. In their place came 19-year-old twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon. So both of Hef’s current girlfriends, added together, are still less than half his age.

RONNIE WOOD, a stripling of 61, who in a few wild weeks this summer managed to wreck his 23-year-old marriage to wife Jo and fall off the sobriety wagon after a wild bender ended with him falling for Ekaterina Ivanova, a 20-year-old Russian cocktail waitress at a sleazy Soho escort bar. Months later, the couple still appear to be together, but the marriage is beyond repair.

AND THE WINNER IS . . . Ronnie Wood! He entertained us all by being living proof that there’s no fool like an old fool, without actually being quite as stomach-churningly sordid as The Hef.

The Dazzling Dame of the Year (sponsored by HRT)

The winner of this award will be the woman of mature years who has, in the judges’ opinion, aged most elegantly and in the most sprightly fashion.

The nominees are...

DAME HELEN MIRREN who, quite simply, looked hotter in a red bikini than any woman of 63 ever has, with a figure that put girls half her age to shame.

VALERIE SINGLETON, 71, who put perennial rumours of her same-sex proclivities to rest with the simple declaration: “I am the opposite of gay.”

She proved it with revelations of a fling with “Blue Peter” co-star Peter Purves, a steamy cuddle with actor Albert Finney and a relationship with a builder 24 years her junior.

JULIE CHRISTIE, 67, who revealed that she had secretly wed her long-time partner, journalist Duncan Campbell, in India (the land of her birth) before jetting off to LA, where she had been nominated for a Best Actress Oscar this year, to look stunning on the red carpet.

ESTHER RANTZEN, 68, who flirted outrageously with 26-year-old King Of The Jungle Joe Swash during “I’m A Celebrity ... Get me Out of Here!”. She also unpacked some surprisingly raunchy undies before revealing that she had lost her virginity in a one-night stand with a doctor on a Greek holiday. Esther, really!

AND THE WINNER IS. . . Dame Helen Mirren! Her movie director husband, Taylor Hackford, is a very lucky man.

The Prettiest Couple on Earth

They’re young, they’re beautiful, they’re talented and they’re loved up.

The nominees are...

ORLANDO BLOOM and MIRANDA KERR. He’s the 31-year-old epitome of the pretty-boy movie star; she is a 25-year-old Victoria’s Secret model (three words which make any man’s heart beat faster) from Australia.

BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE because. . . oh, come on! Does anyone on earth need this explained?

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and JESSICA BIEL. This month’s GQ cover-girl took the place of fellow actress Cameron Diaz in Justin’s heart, which tells one something about the calibre of partner the singer attracts.

LEWIS HAMILTON and NICOLE SCHERZINGER. When you’re an F1 World Champion, girls aren’t hard to find. Lewis, 23, has teamed up with Filipina/Hawaiian/Russian Nicole, the 30-year-old lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls.

AND THE WINNERS ARE . . . Lewis and Nicole! In 2008 the coolest people were mixed race, from Barack Obama and golfer Tiger Woods to “The X Factor’s” Leona Lewis. No one embodied that better than Lewis and Nicole.

Political Co-stars of the Year

Forget actors, models or sports stars, the hottest celebrity trend of the

year was sexy political duos. The nominees are...

US President-elect BARACK OBAMA and his wife MICHELLE. The 47-year-old became the world’s political pin-up, supported by a beautiful, radical wife and the mother of his two lovely girls. That White House dinner party invite will be the hottest ticket.

From the sublime to the ridiculous, next up is LEMBIT OPIK and GABRIELA ‘CHEEKY GIRL’ IRIMIA. A 43-year-old Lib Dem politician with a silly name meets a 26-year-old Z-list popstrel with one of the silliest hits ever. Three months after their engagement in Rome, they had split. Phew!

NICOLAS SARKOZY and CARLA BRUNI. The French President, 53, was a political dead duck when he married supermodel Carla, 41, after a whirlwind 11-week courtship. At first the French were sceptical, but her Jackie Kennedy style aura wowed everyone — even the British monarchy. The unprintable gossip about the two of them is magnifique!

SARAH and TODD PALIN. She shoots moose, he races jetskis and the whole family breed like Alaskan rabbits. Sarah attracts virulent mockery, but is she a natural superstar? You betcha!

AND THE WINNERS ARE. . . Nicolas and Carla! But it was a close-run thing. If she ever runs off with Barack, they’ll be hotter than a Large Hadron Collider.

The ‘Too-Much-Information’ Award

Many stars restrict their public utterances to carefully scripted PR banalities. Others, however, tell (or show) us more than we would ever want to hear or see. The nominees are...

RUSSELL BRAND, 33, the sometime actor and disgraced ex-BBC presenter who

responded to rumours that he would appear in the next “Pirates Of The Caribbean” movie with: ‘I am having a skull and crossbones tattooed on my nipples in anticipation of the plotline.’

P. DIDDY who sent a thank-you letter to the suppliers of Betty Beauty pubic hair dye. Apparently the 39-year-old rapper likes to transform his nether regions to create the perfect ‘holiday package’.

JOHN BARROWMAN, 41, who proved He’d Do Anything by flashing his manhood during Radio 1’s “The Switch” show, which was being filmed for online.

HUGH JACKMAN, 40, aka Wolverine in the “X-Men” films, who revealed that he wears his costumes when making love to his wife because, ‘She loves the idea of me coming home in costume because it makes her feel like she’s having an affair in a good way’.

AND THE WINNER IS. . . John Barrowman! For goodness sake, put it away!

Worst Love-Rat Award
An equal-opportunity award, given to the individual whose behaviour most flagrantly violates the accepted codes of sexual and romantic decency. The nominees are...

GORDON RAMSAY, for whom the F-word appears to be a way of life as well as a foulmouthed figure of speech. The super-chef, 42, has risked his marriage to wife Tana and his £60 million (RM330 million) fortune, which her father manages, in an alleged seven-year affair with ‘professional mistress’ (isn’t there another name for that?) Sarah Symonds.

TILDA SWINTON. She may be a brilliant actress with impeccable breeding and a Cambridge degree, but if she were a man who left his partner with their ten-year-old twins to go swanning round the world with a lover almost 20 years his junior, people would be shocked. But she’s done it.

The 48 year-old’s partner John Byrne, 68, stays at home in Nairn with the kids, while Tilda travels with artist and actor Sandro Koop, 29, much to the distress of the girlfriend whom he deserted to be with Tilda.

SIENNA MILLER, bless her, just can’t get excited about a man unless another woman has got excited about him — and, preferably, married him — first. She made her name with married father-of-four Jude Law, dallied briefly with Daniel Craig soon after his seven-year relationship with actress Heike Makatsch ended, while this year’s man was married father-of-four Balthazar Getty. Sienna swears his marriage was already over. Well, it is now.

RUSSELL BRAND (yes, him again). His fling with Georgina Baillie would have been just one more notch on the bedpost for this compulsive (but not very competent, she claims) lothario. Then DJ Brand (above) decided to call Georgina’s 78-year-old grandfather Andrew Sachs on Brand’s radio show to make a series of vile, lewd, bullying remarks about his sex with her, egged on by the leering, over-excited Jonathan Ross. Horsewhipping would have been too good for them.

AND THE WINNER IS ... Russell Brand! He’s an insult to rats — intelligent clean creatures from which he could learn a great deal.

Most Hellish Ex

It’s over, finito, gone for good - but some girls just won't let it lie.

The nominations are...

MADONNA who may have been generous with the postnuptial split, but she made Guy pay in other ways. She mocked him from her concert stages and reportedly sent him the children accompanied by an eccentric list of dos and don’ts. Madge, if Guy gives them a burger in front of the telly, it’s not the end of the world.

HEATHER MILLS McCARTNEY may get married again one day, but after her bizarre behaviour before, during and after her divorce case, it’ll be a very brave (or foolish) husband. Having rubbished Paul for months, she was silenced by court order, only to threaten a tell-all ‘novel’. Well worth the £24million settlement for the Beatle to be rid of her.

JENNIFER ANISTON is a stunning woman, so why, four years on, is she still moaning about Angelina Jolie being ‘really uncool’ when she stole Brad from her on the set of Mr And Mrs Smith four years ago?

ALICE FAYE EICHELBERGER allegedly felt that her childless 15-year marriage to John Cleese entitled her to £17,000-a-week maintenance, half of all his earnings since 1992, and houses in London and New York. It also made Cleese immensely boring by going on about the injustice.

AND THE WINNER IS. . . Heather Mills McCartney! Could it ever have been anyone else?

Celebrity Love Battle

Calm down, dear, it’s only an argy-bargy between two famous lovers! But there was a lot of it about. And so the nominees are...

ANGELINA JOLIE and BRAD PITT, whose marital squabbles have, according to US tabloid rumours, become so severe that Brad has bought his beloved a course of anger-management classes. Angelina allegedly learned to throw knives for “Tomb Raider”, and likes to practise her skills, with Brad as her target, when they fight.

LINDSAY LOHAN and SAMANTHA RONSON. The lesbian lovers started screaming and shoving one another at a London nightclub after DJ Sam saw actress Lindsay dancing a little too closely with ex-boyfriend Calum Best. Wildly entertaining gay catfight ensued.

KATE MOSS and rocker boyfriend JAMIE HINCE have a tempestuous relationship. They fought when she found a vial of his ex-girlfriend’s blood and exchanged scratches spatting over holiday plans.

AMY WINEHOUSE and hubby BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL are the Sid and Nancy of the 21st Century. But no sooner had ‘me Blakey’ got out of jail than they were having such an appalling phone row that it triggered a boozy bender, putting Amy in hospital.

AND THE WINNERS ARE. . . Brad and Angelina! Duck, Brad, duck! — Daily Mail

bill, you need to stop looking so "disdainful".

i was gonna suggest we could make it a game and GUESS each category but that might ruin it when the results come out. still, i'm guessing Doris is the most honest, BeatleBarb the most attractive, andy the best storyteller, Fiona cosmically conscious, dorothy best animator, and BLUEMEANIE as boardie of the year. (the flirt section is too easy for all of us to call!)

I've had a few things to deal with which have delayed the counting. With any luck, we should be looking at sometime tonight. ;)

I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who voted for me. I don't take the awards too seriously but it's nice to be mentioned........as John said, "the check is in the mail."

The awards gives us something to look forward to as the year ends and we begin a new year. Hopefully this year we'll get better acquainted with others on the board and can expand our family
at Strawberry Fields.

Andy ~ All your hard work is appreciated tattling the votes up and having the awards again for us who want to particapate in them.

Happy New year everyone. May you be blessed with Health, Peace & Love.........for whatelse is there to need?

(((((Love n Peace))))

I know I have a very bad habit of long copy and pastes, but I do add my own commentary and I think that I am just a born researcher/writer that likes to tackle controversial subjects, especially those that I don't know a lot about because it's educational for me. I often assume that others are just as interested in debating subjects that are really only of interest to myself.
