The idea of Kylie Minogue doing a dance routine of Help (it happened!) gives me no comfort at all.
Put a puppet on it.

I disagree, Mark. They are always worthwhile no matter who is performing or doing things. It is always great to be there with other fans who are there for the same purpose as you are. It is wonderful to sing along with them and listen to their heartfelt words of love. It helps with the healing of our loss. Dec. 8th will always be a day of mourning for me, a day of sorrow and solace. It really helps to get together with others who are going through the same as I am and hear their stories, hear their songs.
Each to their own, if it helps you to feel some comfort that's great and it isn't for me or anyone else to tell you otherwise. I just find it lacking in a personal touch when it's a bunch of people performing with no real connection to John and I'd find more reassurance listeninbg to a few of my old C.D'S.

I agree with you Mark. It has to be meaningful, not necessarily spectacular.

In a sort of related way, that is why I no longer like to go see Bob Dylan in person anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love Bob Dylan very much but he's never been much of a live performer. But I get more out of him and feel more of his essence listening to his music on my back deck or in front of my fireplace.

So, did anyone go?

I feel the same way about Dylan, Barb. We saw him this year and he was very, very disappointing. He really seems to have no rapport with the audience and seems to basically please himself about what he feels like playing.

Give me his albums any day.
