In Paul's Arms!
|
There is one song that should've been released, like it was supposed to, and one that should not have been released but people wanted to hear it. The song that should've been released is Not Guilty and the one that should've stayed hidden away, IMHO, is What's the New Mary Jane? They both came out on Anthology and was allowed to by the threetles and Yoko. One was good and one was pretty much crappy. If the one that was pretty much crappy could come out, what does that say about Carnival Of Light? I do believe that Olivia and Yoko should have a voice. After all they want to protect their husband's image and, having lived with them for many years, should know what their husbands likes, dislikes, and wishes are. |

Come on! Revolution 9 is awesome! No other piece of sound montage showed the Beatles (or John) at their most experimental. I think Yoko and Olivia should definitely have a say over whether Carnival of Light is released 'officially', but that it should just be let out the back door through the 'usual channels' like all the other sketchy stuff. ;) |

I'm with Andy, I don't care really either way if Carnival of Light is released or not. The existence of one "new" experimental track is interesting to a point, but if it's not very good, what value is there in its release, besides satisfying fans of the obscure and completists? Regarding the rights of Olivia and Yoko over the track's release, whether anyone likes it or not, legally it is their right to approve or disapprove, and argument to the contrary is a moot point. However on a personal level, I feel that Olivia may have her reasons for objecting that go beyond George's publicly stated views, because who knows what he said to her in private about "Carnival of Light"? |

Here yet another article from msnbc.com, although, this one's actually interesting because there's an interview with Bruce Spizer (the coolest and most awesome man alive).
