George was a champ at making funny videos, actually predating MTV (of course The Beatles themselves began the artform in their usual farseeing way). Which do you like -- of course I don't mean to exclude any of his others as well even (gulp) the Wilbury ones -- so which are your favorites? I love: Crackerbox Palace This Song |

It's got to be The Pirate Song - George was so damn funny and quite a good pirate. He really should have done more of this. He was so damn witty, sarcastic, and downright hilarious! His performance of Bangladesh for the Concert for Bangladesh still gives me goose bumps. It makes me wonder what George would and could be doing today. To think that he was the first of musicians who did this sort of thing. |

Dennis Morgan: The Making of 'This Song' - George Harrison (6:54) READ THIS WHILE VIEWING:Former Dark Horse Records, General Manager, Dennis Morgan (who plays the motorcycle policeman in the film) takes you behind the scenes for a close-up look into the making of, 'This Song' with the new film, George Harrison, Making 'This Song' Includes rarely seen "on location" still photos of set-up shots. The films debut on U.S. television was the result of a marathon negotiating session between Saturday Night Live producer, Lorne Michaels, George, and Dennis during a time of a rumored Beatles (The Rutles) reunion on Saturday Night Live. Including Paul Simon's (Lorne's best friend)and Monty Python's, Eric Idle's influence in making the duet with George of 'Here Comes The Sun' and 'Homeward Bound' as a condition to the late night TV show airing the films, 'Cracker Box Palace' and 'True Love' (both filmed on location at George's estate in the U.K., and directed by Eric Idle). However, Dennis and George had other ideas; and in the negotiating session, replaced the Eric Idle directed films with,'This Song' (Lorne Michaels had a problem with this, claiming a prior agreement with Eric Idle re: The Rutles). At the end of the day two things were left on the bargaining table: Lorne wanted his friend Paul Simon to perform a duet with George; and George and Dennis wanted Saturday Night Live to air the film, 'This Song'. Thus, the companion video to 'This Song': 'Here Comes The Sun' / 'Homeward Bound' From the forthcoming Dennis Morgan semi-autobiography, 'All the Dark Horses; All the King's Men' Dennis Morgan: The Making of 'Crackerbox Palace' - George Harrison (5:36) On the sixth anniversary of his death,we pay homage to George Harrison with a short film entitled, Making of Crackerbox Palace. Including a tribute to the man who inspired the tune, the late comedian Lord Buckley (and his personal manager, George Greif: "Mr. Greif" in the song). We miss you squire... Underscore track: George Harrison, 'Out Of The Blue'(Original Jam); Album: All Things Must Pass Produced by George Harrison and Phil Spector The following musicians played on "Out Of The Blue":George Harrison, Jim Gordon, Bobby Whitlock, Eric Clapton, Gary Wright, Jim Price, Bobby Keyes, and Al Aronowitz. |

I love these favourite videos threads. My favourite video are: Bangladesh Why? The message is beautiful. There's no salvation without charity. The music is beautiful, the melody, I love it, very different. "My friend came to me, with sadness in his eyes He told me that he wanted help Before his country dies" My Sweet Lord - Concert for Bangladesh Why? It's so intense his faith, it's a gorgeous music, it brings peace to my soul. George was deep and intense, I adore him. |

Thanks Lapis for those posts on the making of "Crackerbox Palace" and "This Song." It's very funny that several Warner Bros. execs were in the "This Song" video as well as Ron Wood. "Crackerbox Palace" is so undeniably Monty Python in its style with the Colonel (Graham Chapman) and George in the schoolboy outfit. It's cool that both 'making of' films show the parts that Olivia played in the videos. |

I would say that every clip from "Concert For Bangladesh" is wonderful, but if we're talking about specific videos, I can tell you about "All Those Years Ago" (that one is very emotional, sometimes it gets me crying :() "This Song" which is very funny and "Crackerbox Palace" "I was so young when I was born"...I love that part! :D |
