Tattoos, body piercings and body art; Who here has them?

Just curious who here might have tattoos, body piercings, multiple piercings, henna designs, or any other kind of body *art*.

What prompted you to do this (peer pressure, wanting to feel *cool*, a means of expression, etc.)?
Are you happy with the result?
Would you do it again?
Have you had it removed?
Do you find it attractive when you see it on others?
Any regrets?

I have nine tattoos, a tongue piercing and an HCH piercing. I used to have my nose and my labret pierced too.

I don't regret any of my designs, more the placement of some of them. I'm happy with seven of them, but if I'd known how big my boobs were gonna get, I would have placed my Flower Fairy somewhere else! There's one I want covered, but I've yet to find a design that will actually cover it.

I've always like body art, and I was never 'cool', so that had nothing to do with it. I got my first tatt on my eighteenth birthday (and I was still at school, so I was a bit famous there for a while). I always comment if I see good body art on others, I find them fascinating

All I know is that I can't afford to get into trouble with the police as I've got identifying 'stamps', but if I ever die in suspicious circumstances, y parents will be able to identify me! :P
I don't believe in Bondi. I don't believe in rugby league. I believe in Yoko, John Lennon, the Lost Weekend and me.

I have 10 piercings (they used to be 11, but that's an unfortunate story) and one tattoo.

I have pierced ears (7 total), nose, navel, and bottom lip. I don't think I look like a freak, although I tend to get negative feedback from older people. I like piercings. I like that sweet pain while you're doing it. I simply like how they look (in moderation, of course). Sometimes I miss the thrill of a piercing (I know, it sounds pathetic, but it's true!) and wonder what I could pierce next, but eyebrows, tongue and other sorts don't appeal to me.
I sometimes get bored with the facial piercings and take them off for a bit, until I get bored without them. :P

My tattoo is a sad story, and I regret it every day. I woke up one day and told my roomate "hey do you want to go get tattoos?". And so we did. I was 18 at the time and didn't really give it much thought, I simply wanted to do it to see what it feels like. I'm glad I chose a really small one, so, even though it means absolutely nothing to me, it's barely noticable (and some even find it kind of cute).
I am planning to get a Beatles related one at some point.

I have 6 piercings (all in my ears.) I have always wanted my ears done more then just the 2 times as a baby, so I finally did last October.

I have one and only one tattoo. I got it so I will always remember my fabtastic trip to Liverpool. And so everyone else could see it. I also got it to see how many people are really Beatles/Paul fans that live around me and would acknowledge it. So far not very many...

I would love to get another tattoo and probably will before I go back to England next year. Definitely will have to be Beatles related, and maybe one I designed.

No regrets thus far... :peace:

I have those same ear piercings, but am thinking about letting them grow back. Guess I'm tired of them. Haven't put earrings in them in ages.

I do have four tattoos. Beatles and Wings logos, Driving Rain tour logo and maccascruff. I was in Fort Lauderdale in 2002 for the last concert of Paul's tour and just decided to go get a tattoo. I don't regret any of them.

If I had to choose one, I would get my ears pierced.

Tattoos, some look okay but for me it's way too permanent.

I only have my ears pierced and thinking of having them repierced so my earrings face forward not to the side of my face.

Now I have a nephew who has a lot of tattoos and I don't think he regrets having them because he has quit a few. But he's a nice looking man and keeps his apperance up, not scruffy looking. His new girlfriend who moved here from CA. recently has her arms done from the elbow up and her whole back is a Mary and Joseph picture. She's also pretty and the tattos look nice on her. I asked if she coordinates her clothing to the tattoos and she said yes, now she does. She said she wore a dress and the dress and the tatoos did not look good together. She tries to stick to black and white.

Now I'm wouldn't want my kids having tatoos but if that's what they ended up doing, what is one to do? Your not going to disown them......I'm just glad their not into tatoos!

PEACE and love to my friends, Judy

Sure all those tattoos look good on a firm young body but on a 70 year old with sagging tits and a wide butt they may not. And thats just the guys don't even want to think about those beautiful ladies late in life.

That's what always kept me from doing it, Tony.

Yeah same here actually

However, I've been thinking of getting my nose pierced or at least one more on both ear lobes.

Funny because in my coutry we don't see ears piercing as ears piercing. We just call it ears hole and it's like a tradition, all mothers give to their babies gold or diamond earring because it's like good luck and because they think it's feminine and cute. We call piercing a nose piercing, for example. ^_^

Call me a boring old fashion prude but I am not into tatoos at all. Ok a little butterfly or something small is no big deal but these woman who tatoo their whole chest through their shoulders and arms is just too much. When I am talking to a person with that much "body art" all I can do is look at it and I can't focus on them. I always think about these girls joining the work force or wearing a wedding dress and it seems wrong but as I've said it mostly just makes it hard to focus on the person. I do like Henna tatoos though, 3 weeks and they're gone!

 Tony! That is kinda the weird thing about tattoos.

I have pierced ears. That's it. But I do think some tattoos are really cool (like Jilly's) and I have actually thought about a Beatles/Paul related tattoo...who knows. Since I am already old and sagging...can it get worse? :)

No tattoos on me but I almost did it. I think what turned me off to tattoos is when I was involved in a prison mentoring, I saw some crazy ones. I saw the entire head, necks, faces, etc. done. I saw 'f* you on the back of one guys bald head and so many others that I began looking at it like a peer pressure thing in there. All the women who visited were getting them as well. It just turned me off a bit. My daughter got a tiny cross on her foot to represent my mom after she died and I thought that was very cool.

I have both my ear lobes pierced twice and I have a cartilage piercing on top of one of my ears (one of those rings with a ball). I also got my nose pierced the beginning of this year; I've always thought nose piercings were pretty. My cartilage was motivated mostly by a desire to stand out a little and separate myself from my universities' really preppy image. As for tattoos, I have mixed feelings about them. There's a fine line between them looking nice vs. trashy. I've thought about getting a small tattoo of the Beatles logo for a while (it's the only thing I know I'd never get sick of). I've been pretty close to actually doing it a couple times but I always decide against it at the last minute because I'm afraid I won't like it.

Just my two ears....I am so boring!!
My daughter has two tattoos - one between her shoulder blades - an Italian saying - and one on her foot - another saying. Can't remember what either of them say.
Last summer my husband had a gorgeous one put on his calf - an eagle draped in an American flag. He did it to celebrate his retirement - and freedom from anyone telling him what to do anymore! So far the color is staying. He was just complemented on it this morning.
I think I'll just buy jewelry!!
