I couldn't vote because I live outside London, yet the transport affects me as I commute to London. I vote for Ken Livingstone because he really did have good ideas on what London needs.

As for Boris Johnson's plans to get rid of bendy-buses and replace them with Routemasters (The ones with an open platform and a conductor) that wil never happen. Apart from the cost of replacing 400 new buses the health and safety would never allow open-platform buses back. Besides it will take several years to build them and no manufacturer would want to set up an asssembly line for just a handful of new buses.
With every mistake we must surely be learning.

Don't really know, but all of you are upset, so the guy who won must not be right.

Well, here's another clue for you all, the Walrus was Paul...
I wish I could reply with some knowledge of what is going on...but, alas, I cannot.
But like Linda already said, I get the impression that many of you aren't happy with the outcome.

He is kind of like a British version of George Bush I always think, just because of some of the gaffs he makes and that kind of thing.

Then I truly feel great empathy and sorrow for London.

I wouldn't go that far. He may be a bit of a buffoon but I don't think he'd go and start wars.

It seems that one of Boris Johnson's first tasks is to ban alcahol on London's Buses, Trams and Tubes. This is something that Ken Livingstone should have done years ago.
This afternoon at 3pm I was on a bus travelling from Euston to Waterloo and there was a drunk upstairs. He had a radio playing loud and luggage all over that place. As the bus went round a corner he slid in his seat and dropped the open beer can. The bus then stank of beer and no doubt when dried became very sticky on the floor. As people tried to pass him he swore at them and threatened to throw the by-now empty can at a girl who told him to shut up.
I Know people will say this is a law that can't be enforced but it's worth a try. After all they said it won't work when they were debating stopping smoking in enclosed spaces, yet it's now accepted.
I still think that in the long term Boris will be a disaster.
With every mistake we must surely be learning.

Not sure how you can ban alcohol on mainline trains without changing a lot of British bylaws. Also, as laws already exsist to remove anyone from a train who is being a nusense why should banning alcohol make any differance? If this rule isn't being enforced then neither will the alcohol ban.

As far as I know main-line trains are not included. If most laws were enforced this country wwould be a far better place. Unfortunatly they only enforce laws on people who won't answer back!

Seems that Boris may be mayor in name only. People behind the scenes are running the shop.
