Hello you all, I've just got a question. I came to this forum by Astrid (Dr. Winston O'Boogie) and I found that there are a lot of people Paul-fans. In fact, I didn't really find some people who aren't Paul-fans. So I just would like to know if there are any John-, George- or Ringo-fans. My favourite beatle is John. And I sometimes think I doesn't belong here because there are so much Paul-fans here. But why are there so much Paul-fans? Is there a special reason for that? Is this forum a Paul-forum and I just didn't notice that? Hannah PS: I know my English isn't that good. I hope you all understand what I meant. |

When the board first started here, most members knew each other from the McCartney website so it's probably fair to say that the fanbase is slightly skewed towards Paul. I doubt that there are many people here for whom Paul is their least favourite Beatle. But then again, having a "least favourite" Beatle is kind of like having a least favourite eyeball. It doesn't mean you don't love them all. Also, I think being the most active surviving Beatle means there is always Paul news to talk about; new releases, shows, sightings and sadly, scurrilous gossip. So that may also make it appear that we're all exclusive Paul fans when it ain't necessarily so. Hey, just check out the fight over who is the biggest John fan! Rest assured, any fan of the Beatles - collectively or individually - is a friend of ours.

We have some huge John fans here, but as Bill correctly says, the original membership of this site all came to Strawberry Fields from the official Paul site and we've been fortunate to attract lots of different Beatles fans from all over the world ever since.
Although my favourite Beatle in terms of musical output is Paul, John and George are just a whisker behind. When I first became active on the internet, I joined forums both dedicated to John and Paul, but found myself posting a lot more on Paul's official site, because it was a lot more fast-moving and I built more of a relationship with some of the members there than I did elsewhere. As Bill also says, sadly, there is more to talk about with Paul because of the release of new music, live shows and, of course, his rather turbulent personal life whereas with John and George, apart from the occasional posthumous honour they receive alongside stories of their families, all we have to discuss is their history and legacies which, although sizeable and the source of a huge amount of discussions, doesn't generate as much conversation as an artist still recording and performing. Still, when this forum was first conceived, I never - for a moment - thought about it being a Paul McCartney messageboard. In fact, that was one of the big shortfalls of the official Macca forum, that it wasn't a Beatles forum. As far as I'm concerned, if you're a Beatles fan then this is a messageboard for you, regardless of who your favourite member of the fab four is. I think that, if you start some some interesting Lennon threads, you may be surprised at just how good the response will be here. Give us a try.

Well, here's another clue for you all, the Walrus was Paul...
|
I cannot tell a lie...Paul is my number one Beatle.
But John, George and Ringo are close behind. |

It's what Bill and Andy said, essentially. Well, my favourite Beatle is John, but I still love Paul, George and Ringo more than anyone else.

I didn't know that there are a lot of members who got to know each other at an other forum, dedicated to Paul. So I do understand now why there are so much Paul-fans in this forum. Hannah |

You already know who my favorite Beatle is, was and always will be: the one who had to leave so soon, the one with the witty remarks, the one who founded the band...simply the one I miss so much: JOHN

When I registered myself on Macca's board, it was 4 years ago and Paul was my favourite. I think George is my favourite Beatle these days. I am always changing, it depends on many things. I love the Beatles, they are my fav. |

Paul is my absolute favourite, he always was, but he's closely followed by Beatle George. I say 'Beatle' George as I'm not as huge a fan of George's solo work, whereas I love just about everything Paul ever wrote. And of course, Paul is just gorgeous. No arguments, he just is. Although, having been single for an awfully long time, my hormones are hard to argue with.
