Jillian you were supposed to tell us what happened at your Chinese dinner...and you haven't yet.

I am only slightly put out. :giggle: At this time.
It was by fare the most fun I have ever had. Andy's puns, bad jokes, and snide comments made it so much better. I loved it, the night came to and end far too soon.

I uploaded that incriminating video to photobucket but Peter might sue if I post it.

I had a great time in Liverpool, I really did. To be honest, I was dreading the meetup a little bit because we all have our little dramas online and because I'm shy and unsociable but it was wonderful, I was so pleased. :flower:

And the concert... well, Paul put on an incredible show. I was so happy, despite being at a distance. It seems my first concert would be hard to beat so I was glad to be able to sit and not wait in the rain like some of you guys (good on you, by the way!) So much fun.

I love you all! :hyper:

And shall never have a Chinesey to compare.
It was wonderful to meet you and Andy! :flower: I'm so sorry we didn't get to spend more time visiting even though our rooms were right next to each other! We had to leave rather early (5am) from the house so we didn't get to say goodbye.

What time did you get back after the concert, and how? We were stuck there looking for a cab for almost 2 hours!! :duh:

Hey Heidi, I'm sorry we didn't get to say goodbye properly. Liz told us you were up and out at 5 - I bet you slept well on the plane! We got in from the concert at around midnight because we made the last train. I think anyone who didn't quite make that one (probably hundreds of people) were pretty much screwed. We thought you must already be in!

Jillian, I had a delightfully meal with you guys. And even though I always denied that Californians had unique accents, talking to you after so long away was sooo refreshing!

And as Peter wants to see the sodding video, here it is. You'll have to tilt your head for it and if anyone knows how to rotate a video, please let me know!

When my friends and I were there walking to the Cavern quarter, some women got out of their cab and told us how "cute" our accents were! We laughed as we had to remember where we were and that we were the ones with the accent!

lmao me dancing aint much different from that.

i thought it would be worse, like me singing and crying. from wednesday afternoon i just had one wave after another of emotion ( good ones i hasten to add) culminating in saturday evening. one of my mates i aint seen in 15 years and known him since we were 7, the ugly fat bald bugger, how we didnt sing i dont know we were always singin. the other ugly fat bugger i have not seen for 9 years and known him since i was 19. his mam has been seriously ill in hospital and thought i would never get to see her again. to finally meet jayne and lisa after all these years, the many hours on the phone. remeet the strange social misfit, normally referred to as the adorable olia, andy, the sexy long brown haired fiona. George, Colin, Tony and a host of others for the first time and just as far as i was concerned have a ball. and last but not least you and dani two right wee sweet nutters. hell i was drunk by me first sip at 8.30ish actually not having had a drink since the sunday morning i am still rather tired and emotional.

oh and of course the slight matter of fooking paul mccartney in the greatest city in the world.

lol yu have flown halfway across the world at 18, i mean 18. the other one is travelling to Kiev at 21. me and degs would have never of dreamed of doing that at that age. hell we wouldn't go to Kiev now!!!

plus having the op hanging over me and waking at 6.15 yesterday and i still had control over my left hand.

as "the man" himself says he has got more emotional as he has got older, i must be catching the same disease. i am normally very reserved.

now going to try and get some sleep not even having a single number in the lotto can upset me tonite.

LOL...we were one of those people! :pinch:

I wanted a tee shirt but can you believe they weren't selling them inside? So we had to get one after the show, and there was a mob at the one and only stand! Then when we finally got to the curb, all the cabs were gone! And when we called, they said they were booked and if we could make our way about a mile away from the stadium, we would have a chance. Great! :hmm: We had no clue about that area, but we heard it was not a good place to be; we discovered that as we walked around aimlessly...lol! And listen to this; when we got to this one pub, we ran into JOHN (the custodian who lives in Paul's old house). He remembered us and told us to make our way down the other way. Well, we followed lots of people who were also looking for a cab.

Long story to say that we didn't get back to Liz's until about 1am! We got up at 4:30 and out the door at 5 for the drive to Heathrow.

I'm here, in an internet cafe, Barb and all. Had a fabulous time at the meet up, sound check, concert and in Jayne's World. Dani showed me a fabulous time in Edinburgh, too, and now I'm in London. I fly home tomorrow and will be getting my pictures on to my computer and uploaded here.

Had a great day yesterday for the London meet up.

Chaos and Creation in the Backyard was one of the highlights of the entire trip. Sorry we were late to the meet up because of it, but how could we resist--especially Henry and Tommy. They offered us beer, wouldn't take the money I offered them, etc. Lovely hosts to the six of us. Told us Paul was already there.

I've told Dani she has an adoptive home in the US if she wants it. She is of age and can set her own hours. I absolutely adore her.

Fiona, I was so glad to finally meet you and Andy and have that nice long chat with the both of you. I know what you mean about online drama, but there was none for me. Just a fab and gear time.

well just a note for scottycat i aint said anything about the house tour as i am waiting till i can tell yu on the phone but suffice to say i enjoyed it immensely. plus i am having problems writing and actually staying on here (new site) with the hand and mum's computer. i can remember nearly everything as linda wasnt plying me with drink.

pfffttt it would have been bad manners to not drink them.

Chaos and creation was most certainly the highlight of my trip! I would have never in a million years thought I would be in some stranger backyard at Anfield listening to Paul's soundcheck! I couldn't even believe it, it still doesn't seem real.

I agree, what a random and totally awesome thing to experiance. If you go to PM.com there are pics from the sound check and a video but I think that one is from the soundcheck on the day of the concert. Still can't believe Linda and Lisa went to the bathroom in that house :pinch: ! :giggle:

No we stayed at the pub far longer than 11. Jayne left past 11, all of us were waiting for you to stop talking, but no one wanted to leave because it was a good bit of entertaiment. The Barry Manilow was just spontaneous, no taping required there, but all of us will remember it. :P I think we left the pub around 12.30 maybe even closer to 1

I think I’m finally getting over the jet lag, but I don’t think I’ll ever get over what a fantastic time I had in Liverpool, and in Jayne’s world.

It was great, because we got to know each other a bit at a time. Lisa and I arrived together the first morning, and then Linda and Peter came later that day. We had a “mini meet-up” of sorts at a pub on Thursday evening.

Linda and I did the National Trust tour of John and Paul’s homes on Friday morning. That was too cool for words. Irene and Tony arrived on Friday night, and they stayed at the same hotel as Linda and I did.

On Saturday, the four of us met for breakfast and took a cab to the Casbah Club, where we met up with Lisa, Dani, Peter, and Jayne and the girls. After the tour, we headed into Liverpool so that Dani and Tony could pick up their tickets at Anfield. The rest of us waited for them at a pub. When they came back, and mentioned the possibility of a soundcheck, we knew we had to go.

Even though we didn’t get to see Paul arrive or leave, we were not disappointed. It was a blast listening to the music and hanging out with everyone, including those that were “less fortunate”, as Irene put it. I will admit that the trip inside to Henry’s bathroom was a bit unnerving, but Henry was quick to reassure Tony that Linda and I would be okay.

I am sorry that we arrived at the official meet-up so late. There just wasn’t enough time to chat with everyone. Alan introduced us to some wonderful cider, and the time passed so quickly! I never got to meet Olia or Jim and Bapsy, and barely got to speak with everyone else. I regret not staying longer, and taking a cab back to the hotel. And, Clare and Bill – I was thinking of you both the whole time, wishing that there was a way to teleport the two of you to Liverpool for the evening. We will have to have an Australian meet-up one of these days!

Sunday arrived, and some of us went into town to see the sights. We headed down to LIPA to see if Paul had arrived for Stella’s fashion show. With all the blacked-out windows in the cars, it was difficult to see who was coming and going. We did, however, see Peter Blake arrive. Funnily enough, it was exactly 41 years to the day that “Sgt. Pepper” was released in Britain. At the end of the show, we saw Paul leave, but none of us was quick enough to get any photos.

Finally, it was time for the concert. There are no words to describe the feeling of seeing Paul in Liverpool. I had done it in 1990, but I think the Anfield show was even more amazing. It was so overwhelming to be in the midst of everyone singing along to every single song. In my experience, it’s just not that way in the U.S. I spent some time looking around at the crowd, and watching the enjoyment on their faces. There were several goosebump moments for me during the show, when the hair on my neck and arms stood straight up. The “Penny Lane” sing-along was one of them, as was “Band on the Run.” There were some tears as well, during “Something” and “A Day in the Life”. All too soon, it was over, and it will rank as one of the best Paul shows that I have seen.

We had a lovely, quiet day on Monday. Jayne took us for a ride on a canal boat. We enjoyed the water and the beautiful countryside, and stopped at a little pub for a meal. When we finished, some of us headed back into Liverpool to see shop and see some of the things that we’d missed.

Tuesday morning came all too soon. Lisa and I had an early flight home, and we left for the airport at 6:30 am. I wished that we could stay longer, but I know that I will be back again some day. Liverpool has a way of doing that to you.

What a long, strange trip it's been....

I haven't had time to read everything on the board, what with being on a laptop without a mouse, I can't really work this thing.
I just wanted to write some of the things I remember from the chinesey meal in case they haven't been mentioned yet.
First of all, "chinesey"! That had us laughing for a bit. Then we were talking about the crap music that the restaurant was playing. Dani went up to them and asked them to play Paul McCartney, but they told us they had the radio on and that they didn't have any Macca cds.
Barry Manillow came on, and we all made faces and took the p*ss, until Peter started saying that he likes him, then Andy just said "Barry f*cking Manillow" with such seriousness it had us choking on our greasy food.
When they played the Carpenters, we slighly joked about that being elevator music and all, and then Andy just said "what a fat b*tch". Jillian and I looked at each other with a "where did that come from" look and I think we laughed for about five minutes. Fiona had a look on her face like a piano had just fallen from the sky and crashed her head. It was all so surreal. You couldn't stop Andy that night.
The video of Peter molesting Jillian outside the pub is priceless. I can't understand a word that's being said, but I remember I was laughing really hard and I did so again when I watched it.
Great night.

Oh and then I was waiting for my mother to pick me up and when she arrived, Peter was insisting to walk me to the car. I was telling him that I wasn't sure what she would think if she saw him taking me there, alone and drunk at 2am, but he wouldn't hear it. Finally Dani and Jillian walked me there so that he wouldn't.
Hahahaha.

When Andy made the comment about Karen Carpenter I nearly choked on my food, I wouldn't even believe that came out of his mouth. By the time we'd finished laughing about it, there were tears streaming down my face; it was so much fun. :giggle:
I just arrived home after a very hard day's night. I will write more later, but I promised Jayne I would let everyone know that I arrived safely. I did arrive to one very angry cat. She doesn't know whether to be mad at me and howl or to cuddle with me and purr. She's totally confused and I'm told that is what she did with the pet sitter.

The comment I quoted is one of my favorite memories of a wonderful two weeks.

It's hard to believe it's now exactly a week since the meet-up. It's a night I will always remember. The people on this site are a great bunch and I just love hanging out with you guys. With 3 London meets and a Liverpool one I'm getting to know quiet a few people.

Roll on the next meet. :D (Grrrr those stupid blue emoticons)

That was definitely one of my favourite memories too, I doubt if I will ever forget it.

I just want to thank everyone I met for being so nice and welcoming. I was so overwhelmed by being in Liverpool I didn't even know what to do with myself, and I can still hardly believe it really happened. I hope we can have another meet up when I plan on my trip next August, because I know that was the most fun I've ever had in my life. You all have been so kind, and I just want to thank everyone, and I hope you liked my drawing.

Paul McCartney's next world tour will be his last - so he can spend more time with daughter Beatrice.

The former Beatle is about to announce plans for a colossal two-year tour. The huge string of dates, starting this autumn, will be one of the biggest rock tours of all time. Macca is expected to make £110million from the planned 100 gigs - more than £1m per show.

It will be his biggest tour since 1989-90 when he played 108 shows in Europe, the US, Japan and Brazil.

The tour will be in stages, taking in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Australia. The first dates will be announced in the next few weeks.

Beatrice, four, will join her dad - 66 this month - for sections of the tour.

Macca revealed his plan to close friends and family last weekend at his triumphant City Of Culture gig in his home town of Liverpool.

A source said: "Paul explained that this tour will be the last big one. He wants to settle down and enjoy Beatrice's childhood.

"The tour will be the last time he performs in many parts of the world. Beatrice and his family life are going to come first. He does not want to be away for months at a time."

The other woman in Macca's life - his new love, American socialite Nancy Shevell - will join him for much of the tour, aides have been told.

Nancy, 48, will see Paul play a free concert in Kiev, Ukraine, next Saturday.

Paul had long planned to make a final world tour but was waiting to get his divorce from Beatrice's mum Heather Mills out of the way. The two reached a £25million settlement in March.

Macca's last major tour, in 2002, netted him £63million for just 58 shows.

Paul will get more than £1million from each of the planned 100 per formances on one of the biggest rock tours ever.

Four-year-old Beatrice will fly out to join her dad for parts of the tour.

Go-ahead had to wait for end of divorce proceedings.

You'll have to tilt your head for it and if anyone knows how to rotate a video, please let me know!
just bumping this so i can find it to send to friends

Well, here's another clue for you all, the Walrus was Paul...
Just a few thoughts...now that I have had some sleep.

Liverpool.

Places. Liverpool was a wonderful, bustling place to be that weekend. Our hotel room overlooked the bus stands (theres like...12?), so we could watch all the people coming and going...
LOTS of buses. ENDLESS buses. But it was a very friendly city...and everything was in walking distance (except for the stadium). Everyone who we talked to asked if we were in town to see Macca...

People. I really enjoyed the meet-up. I mean...REALLY enjoyed it. I always thought of myself as a shy person...but I tried pretty hard to talk to everyone there, and still missed a few (Sorry, George,Colin and Jim).
I fancy myself someone who loves to WATCH people...how they interact, respond...and honestly, no one that I met on that night was any different than what they appear on this very forum. I felt that the people I have connected most with on SF...are the ones I connected most with in person. No surpises there. Although I still found it most 'interesting' to just sit back and watch it all...and of course, a little bit of 'board drama' had to be included. Whats SF without a little drama??
Peter~What you see is what you get. That's a GOOD thing!
Dani~ Determined to take over the #1 Paul fan. I found it very easy to talk to her...I still agree with her!
Lisa(Jac)~ Even warmer and nicer in person...watch out Judy...she could be the new "Mother" of the board!!
Lisa(retro)~ LOVED her. What more can I say?
Irene~ I felt like I knew her all my life.
Heidi~ SO easy to talk to...glad I got to know her better.
Fiona~ Shy, sweet possum.
Andy~ Great hugs! He could possibly be the one person I was most anxious to meet! Charming, witty...everything you see here...he is.
Audrey~ Wonderful...so easy to talk to. Didn't stay around very long!
Linda~ Great to finally meet her, wonderful lady...wish we could have chatted more!
Olia~ Sweet, wonderful girl.
Tony~ Great guy. He probably said the most awesome thing to me the whole night...he told me that I looked 40!!! Did I tell you that I LOVE YOU, Tony!!
Jayne~ Funny, sweet...and so easy to love. Jayne always has a smile on her lovely face! And I really enjoyed talking to her wonderful Alan. Great guy.
Jilly~Sweet, talented girl. Loved the picture she made.

I know I run the risk of forgetting someone who is totally UNforgettable....but hey, its all a work in progress. Just my thoughts for now. Forgive me any omissions. (I'm tired, OK??)

Things. THOROUGHLY enjoyed the tours of the houses. Being in the same spot that John and Paul were writing songs. Pauls bedroom. Johns bedroom. Absolutely fantastic. I loved seeing Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane and all the other Beatley sights. And of course....the concert.
Zutons? Kaiser Chiefs? Paul LOOKED fantastic...and sang wonderfully. Brian and I were in the upper centenary stand...and Yoko and Oliva were 4 rows in front of us! Who da thought? Yes, the seats were cramped...(I honestly believe that people who are in charge of airplane seats, bus seats...stadium seats...are SHORT people. Theres no way in HELL anyone over 5'5" could possibly sit comfortably in those damn seats!!) Getting back to the hotel after the concert was a bit of hell, but Brian and I lucked out and got a couple of (stumpy) seats early on.
Did I mention that Paul looked and sounded positively WONDERFUL????? He did. And it was worth every knee scraping minute! Paul. I LOVE YOU. THANK YOU!!!!!

I will hopefully be posting some pictures at a later date. As soon as Brian replaces the battery that he left behind in London.

I had met a very nice Brazilian lad at the queue, and when inside I didn't make it to the front, so I was going to come find you, but he saw me and he let me squeeze in. I owe him eternal gratitude for that, dunno how many people would do that.
