If anyone is interested in a tour of the Casbah let me know. There is one available on the 31st at 12n. The more people the cheaper it is. Let me know.

I actually might be.I've never seen it and dont have a clue where it even is.

This is a massive cock up, I'm increasingly getting the feeling I may have to pay back that £100 I got for selling the touted one I got on ebay, which means more cost. I'm getting scared now although am still releaved Tony came to my rescue

OK Dani I'll add your anme to the list!!! :yahoo:

I've been, but I wouldn't mind seeing it again. I have tix for the Concert for George thingy at 5:00 though -- is that cutting it too close?

I don't think so Lisa the tour is at 12 and can't take more than an hour I would think. I'll add your name too!!

I've never heard of standard post before. It may well be by a private company who then let the Royal Mail deliver to the door, they call it the final mile.

If it is a private company they take about 3 days to deliver a letter over about 200 miles

Is anything interesting going to take place Friday night?

We are going to be in Liverpool hopefully Friday evening. Driving from London. We were going to stay at the Premier Inn (booked and all), but now folks have other ideas and plans, which make me want to scream at their faces, but what can you do. I have no idea where we will end up. Hopefully not in Wirral or something. I should have booked that damn hostel.

Jet lag is NOW a distant memory, but I slept through Stonehenge, Never even made it to the bus.

Didn't sleep on the plane and the vegetarian food was inedible, so arrived very tired and hungry. Guess I was still on adrenlain last evening, as I stayed up until about 10 PM UK time and then didn't wake up until 1 PM.

Called See Tickets. I now have to pick up my tickets at Anfield at 5:30 PM. Yes, they were mailed to the US on 21 May. Dolts. Woman gave me an email addy to complain to about the location, but she was not the least bit helpful. Just said she had heard a lot of complaining about seat location. I said why when I reserved premium reserved seats, did I end up in the KOP. She said she did not know. I said my reference thingy just says reserved seats and I should be closer to Paul. She just kept saying she had heard lots of complaints about this and could do nothing.

I will be trying to do something, but doubt if anything good will come out of it.

Could not call the See Tickets number from either my cell phone with it's new SIM card or from a pay phone, so had to pay the rate from my hotel room.

Barb. weather is sunny.

I have seen nothing but the tube ride to the hotel, the hotel room and a restaurant and now this internet cafe. Never should have booked Stonehenge for today. Too soon. Slept through the pick up. Learned my lesson.

Some great veggie food around here, just not where the concierge told me to go.

I've booked a taxi to Victoria Station for tomorrow for my trip to Gatwick. The tube station is closed for works and I don't want to lug the luggage again. Some nice gentleman carried it up to the lift at the station yesterday.

Sounds great so far, Linda. Yeah, scheduling Stonehenge right upon your arrival was probably a bit much. It always takes time to get situated and rested up. It's great you have so much time before the concert and meet-up and get to really take it all in. You're in Paul's country - how great is that!!!!

Hey, I thought of you the other day when I heard about the tornado hitting Colorado. Tell me it wasn't near you.

Also, I forgot to ask someone - please give Peter a smooch from me and my daughter!

When I arrived at the airport, there had been a ground stop and the 4:40 flight to London left after our flight. Felt very lucky to get out on time. It was extremely rough for the first hour of the flight because of the storms. They had moved east by that time and the pilot was trying to fly over them and around them, but it wasn't working. One of the tornadoes hit where Carol lived. I hope it didn't get her house, as I don't think it has yet been sold.

Peter, you will be getting many smooches.

At least you were offered food. When I flew back from the U.S a couple of months ago on American Airlines, as they started to serve food they announced that there was no vegetarian food on board! I'm not a vegetarian so didn't affect me and had a nice chicken meal, but I don't know how vegetarians managed.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this but the concert now may be scheled to end at 11:

Which may mean after 11 as usually things dont go to plan. The last TCT gig I went to where I saw The Who amongst others was scheduled to end at 11 but I had to leave straight after last song at 11:40!! Wasnt sure I'd get home...but I did.

As for ending at 11pm.That makes sense. Even if it originally said 10pm there is generally always room to let it go on a bit longer especially with stuff like this going on. The seating crap is just bloody bollocks. Its very off putting. I'm very relieved I am standing.... although will have to wait and see with that

I'm not a vegetarian so didn't affect me and had a nice chicken meal, but I don't know how vegetarians managed.

Might as well have not had any veggie food on the flight. It smelled too bad and looked too bad for me to even taste.

(they play the same stadium on the 2nd June - if memory serves me right Daniella is going )

No I'm not going, but I have mentioned this gig as I predicted that David/Foo Fighters might sing on stage as they covered BOTR and were in Manchester the day after Paul. If I was going with my sister to see Paul she would have probably made me go and see them. I don't really know many of their tunes.

The American Invasion has begun.... :P ...Joe and I are sitting in the lobby of the hotel waiting for our room to be ready (we got to the hotel at 10am). Our hotel is down the street from Westminster Abbey, so we attended the 10am service this morning. I really enjoyed the beautiful architecture and listening to the choirboys sing. Then we hit a Starbucks  (ok I admit I'm an addict). :P

Our flight was smooth and uneventful, but I didn't sleep a wink (even with Ambien).

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon in L'pool and Audrey on Thursday! :clap

Welcome to the UK...it doesn't always rain...honest. :D

I now like David Grohl a bit more as he is not only paying tribute to The Who but also doing something for a charity I support:

Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and The Flaming Lips will pay tribute to The Who at a Los Angeles benefit this summer. The bands are set to perform at the VH1 Rock Honors charity event, which will take place at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion on July 12 and airs on the cable television network on July 17. Proceeds from the event will benefit charities including The Teenage Cancer Trust. Pic: Tom Oxley

just wrote this to Liverpool Echo / Daily Post

Quote:

Its not just my complaint but lots of other people's complaints regarding the allocation of tickets by the people from either 'seetickets' or liverpool08' for this weekends concert at Anfield.

After being balloted £84 (each) tickets to go and see the concert this Sunday, we find out through getting our tickets this last few days, that we are situated in the Kop end which is right at the back of the stadium (to where the stage is going to be situated on the night - and yes Ive seen the stage being built as I type)

How can whoever allocated these tickets and seating plan justify where people who spent the top price for tickets to sit right at the back of the stadium when others who paid less get a better view  nearer the front???

I won my tickets through the ballot so OK i didnt know where I was going to be allocated seats - but at the end of the day, shouldnt people who was given higher priced tickets given a better view???

I was at Paul's concert at Kings Dock in 1990 and 2003 and got a great view from lesser price tickets,  what is going on ???  would love an explaination and better seats for me and my family

Sing the Changes
I am now in Edinburgh. The lovely and wonderful Dani picked me up at the airport and got me to my hotel. Must say that for less money, it is SO much nicer than the one in London. I have a double and a twin bed and it is a huge room. The single in London was barely big enough to walk around in. The telly even works, as does the tea pot. I can take a shower. The other shower was so small you could barely move in it.

I love this hotel.

Dani gave me instructions on how to get to this internet cafe and how to find my tour tomorrow. She plans on meeting me when she gets off work this afternoon.

Edinburgh and Scotland are beautiful! :D The sun is shining and it's gorgeous outside.

Our evening was lovely and because our tribute band thingy was canceled, we settled for, yes, Starbucks. :duh:

Thats great that you are having a great time. London is so expensive so have have a big room would cost a fortune. Great that the weather is god because its pouring down over here, I only hope that it will be great in a few days time.

Sing the Changes
It was pouring when I left London, but it's nice and sunny here in Edinburgh.

I've only had a room this size once in London and that was as part of a tour with Adventures in Rock. The tour cost a fortune, so they should have given me a great room. It was at a Radisson. That was the 2003 UK tour that started right after the Iraq war started and everybody on the tour was afraid to go except for me. They tried to talk me out of it, but I said absolutely not. I was going to see Paul.

So far, I haven't found food to be less expensive than London. I did find a Sainsbury's on my way here and Dani took me to a little show last night where I got an egg sandwich very cheaply.

That she is. She has shown me where the train station is as well. That way I know where to go on Friday to get my train.
